I am Brania Shant’A Kimbrough. I am 17 years old currently a student at Euclid High School. I plan on becoming a nurse Midwife. When I was younger all I loved was taking care of babies and I think the birthing process is a miracle. One of my big focuses is helping out with others when I can. I plan on starting college in the fall of 2017. During high school my main focus was to make good grades and stay on the right track. I made honor role throughout most of my high school years. I struggled with a couple courses but tried my hardest to not fail myself or the courses. When I became a junior I started to think about college and where I would fit in at. I couldn’t decide between going for nursing or occupational therapy. They are both outstanding
After graduating Anacortes High school I plan on attending a four year private liberal arts university. I will be pursing a Bachelors of Science in Nursing leading to a career as a Registered Nurse. My main interest is a specialty in pediatrics. Following a month stay at Children's Hospital after enduring emergency surgery and a difficult recovery I decided nursing is what I'm meant to do. The nurses inspired me, and I hope that I can help a family and child in the same way that they helped
One down side to living in a small town, is there isn’t very many friends to choose from, and there wasn’t really anyone who shared my interests. Here however, there seems to be an unlimited supply of friends. Where if one person doesn’t want to do something someone else does. Lastly, the most surprising, is how much I feel on track. When all of my technology was going haywire, and I couldn’t find my classes, and everything around me seems like it was crashing and burning, I felt ok, because I guess it boils down to the fact that nursing is something I really want to do, and no matter how much the things around me stress me out and make me want to give up, even in the first week of school, I can’t, because I know it’s what I want to do with my life. I want to help others. When I set my goals on something I really want, I push for it with everything I’ve got. NDSU has challenged me, but with the staff I’ve met these first few days, I feel really supported to take it
I have decided to go to Seattle University and study teaching, but I did not easily come to this decision. In September, I was dead set on going to the University of Washington to pursue a career in Neonatal Nursing. I decided that was what I wanted to do because the spring of my Junior Year, I went to a class on career day (green day) about a woman in Neonatal Nursing. Her job seemed very interesting and rewarding. She had long hours and worked four days a week, then had three days off.
I have an Associate Degree in nursing from Queensborough Community College. I had a Bachelor in Environmental Engineering already and I was looking for the fastest and most inexpensive way to become a nurse when I started the nursing program at Queensborough Community College. When I graduated from the nursing school, I thought that ADN would be enough to be a nurse and I could start working as soon as I got the license. Soon after passing the board, I started realized that it was very hard to find any job as a newly graduated nurse with ADN. I got pieces of advice from professors and decided to go to Molloy College to study Family Nurse Practitioner. After three courses there, even though it would be the fastest way to be an FNP with other Bachelor degree, I realized that I had no experience to share in as a nurse. I sat down and seriously thought about what I like to do.
I have been a student at Leon high school since Pre-k year and in a couple of months I will be graduating from here. After graduation I plan to attend Tyler Junior College in hope of earning an associate’s degree in nursing as a licensed vocation nurse (LVN). After receiving my degree I would like to work at a clinic or the hospital in Tyler or Dallas. To help me achieve this goal I have prepared myself by taking three dual credit classes this year and a nursing class as a certified nurse’s assistant(CNA). In my nursing class I have complete hours in the classroom and certain hours working on the floor at Groesbeck LTC. This experience has helped me decide that being in the nursing field is really what I want to do. Contributing to the community I has
My name is Diana Jimenez I’m currently twenty-one years old. Since I was young I would always say I would be the first to attend college no matter what it took. Although I did not make it to a university I was still determined to reach my dreams no matter how long it took me. Despite the fact that I had no moral support or any money to go to college I still knew that was my number one priority after I graduated high school. I have come a long way in completing my six semester in community college. But I will have to say my dedication and drive to graduating as a Registered Nurse despite all the obstacles I had to face has put me where I am today. Thanks to my dedication I have grown to be a better student in all aspects, and now I go to college
I am currently in my second year of studies at Delaware County Community College. My major is Science for the Health Professions and my goal is to be enrolled in Thomas Jefferson University's Nursing Program by Fall 2017. My mother is currently a Registered Nurse. She has inspired me to fulfill this career and I aim to surpass her success and achieve my Masters Degree in Nursing rather than an Associate's. However, this past year has proven to be the most difficult in my efforts of achieving this dream of mine.
I want to be a pediatric nurse. I absolutely adore children. I have been a preschool teacher for 4 years while I am continuing my education at Lonestar college to finish my prerequisite and get into nursing school. I desire to not only learn but achieve excellence. I go above and beyond what is required of me. I graduated from Lonestar College Cyfair with honors. I graduated cum laude and proud member of the prestigious Phi Theta Kappa honor society. I also graduated from Lonestar honors college. This is college allowed me to go beyond what I am capable of and set the standard for my academic excellence. The honors college help to broaden my horizon and can perform research that has never been done before. This research was unique to me I did
Growing up I’ve always been a handful. But that didn’t stop me from wanting to help people. My goal is to become a Pediatric Registered Nurse. I have always loved children, that's why I love to look after my niece and nephew after school. They live with me in my house of 8 people, and they are busy kids. I know that I cannot rely on my parents to provide for me,my sister,my brother, his wife, and two kids for very much longer. So that is why I am looking everywhere for an opportunity to get hired for something that I am good at,so I can save up money to transfer to a University. I need to make sure that I have 60 units and to maintain my gpa in order to fulfill transfer requirements. I am extremely dedicated to my work ever since I have graduated with honors from high school.
I am a sophomore at Liberty University located in Virginia. I am currently enrolled in the Interdisciplinary studies degree plan. As a child, my mother was a nurse who is deeply involved in her religion which is Christianity. She was my role model and I admired her dedication. I believed that I was religious, hardworking and dedicated just like my mother. My mother wanted me to be a nurse and to attend nursing school. In high school, I went to a school that mainly focused on the nursing curriculum outside of the basic high school leveled courses. However, after experiencing my time in the nursing courses throughout high school I did not seem to be very interest in that career. I wanted to be a lawyer, psychiatrist, or Business manager in Information
My life is a bit of a rollercoaster. I knew what I wanted to do since a young age; however, different paths and decisions brought me to my goal in a roundabout way. After high school I decided to take time off before going to college because I was fortunate enough to have a successful career in retail management. Around the nine year mark I decided that I wanted to return to my goal of entering the medical field, which I was already in the process of doing by attending Northeastern and working towards my BS in Biological Sciences. My ultimate goal being to achieve an MS as a physician assistant. When moving into health care I started in the Urgent Care Department which was closely related to one of the fields I am interested in when practicing
I see myself working as a Licensed Practical Nurse and transitioning to a Registered Nurse. I have had experience doing community service at the Claiborne County Senior Care Nursing Home and Claiborne County Medical Center through the Claiborne County Technical Center completing a high school course in vocational education in the field of Health Science II. My biggest challenges transitioning from high school to college will be having good study habits, paying close attention to what is being taught in class, taking good notes and utilizing free time to study. College will be different than High School but I am confident I will succeed in my future endeavors because I can do anything when I put my mind to it this is what I had to do all through school. Eventually I will be on my own so I need to have a good education so that I can support myself even though my mother will help me. I think college is an awesome opportunity to step outside of my comfort zone and meet new people. Therefore, I need to make sure that I surround myself with good friends whom I can trust to bring out the best in me and I will have my twin sister by my side to help keep me on track. College is not cheap so to be considered for a scholarship will mean so much to me and my
I am a spouse of an ARMY active duty soldier who has three beautiful kids. I have a passion for nursing and cannot wait to finish my degree in this field. I have been a certified nursing assistant for the last ten years while raising my family and moving around the U.S. with my husband due to him being in the military. As a CNA, my love for nursing and taking care of people grew to a passion. I knew this was my calling. Due to moving a lot these last few years and having to go through multiple deployments with my spouse it has become challenging to finish my degree, but has not stopped me. Just set me back some. I really want to show my kids that it is possible to accomplish your dreams despite what life throws at you. However, with the economy downfall and the rise of cost for living it is becoming a struggle financially to pay for college. It is a consent battle whether to pay for things your family needs or to pay for another set of classes to take. I have recently been accepted into the CTC Nursing program. This means I am only two years from graduating with my degree in nursing. I am undeniable motivated to finish what I started not only for my family, but to prove to myself that anything is possible.
I am a hardworking student who is highly motivated to go to college and pursue a nursing career. I try my best to be the most responsible person I can be by always completing all the duties and responsibilities that need to be completed. I am able to learn and memorize information in a short amount of time and be able to remember it afterward. These qualities can be very beneficial when it comes to succeeding in college. I am the type of person who does not give up and always tries to find a way out of any situation. I believe I am a very patient person and willing to help anybody and believe this is important when it comes to pursuing a nursing career. I believe the qualities I have developed throughout the years will help me be able to succeed
My name is Alexis Leann Guthrie and I am 21 years old. Recently, I completed my associates of arts degree at Jones County Junior College. I am currently enrolled in my first semester of nursing school at the University of Southern Mississippi. As a transfer student, I have experienced many changes in this past month. I have a goal to graduate this nursing program and go back to school to earn my Nurse Practitioner degree. My first year at Jones County Junior College, I was a Pre-med major. After many prayers and job shadowing, I felt that God was leading me to become a nurse. In this paper, I want to tell you about my own personal nursing philosophy as a beginner-nursing student.
