Based on the NCCT practice exam I need to review pharmacology, infection exposure control and safety, phlebotomy, other diagnostic test and ECG troubleshooting and maintenance. I did not do very well on the NCCT practice exam. I know I need to study all the possible abbreviations some of them I just could not recall. A study goal that I want to achieve is to be able to describe in detail what certain body functions are and how they work. I also what to feel confident that I am going to pass the NCCT exam after I have complete everything that I need to review and study. I like the idea of breaking my study goals down into manageable study task helping access where I need to apply most of my studying. Some of the thoughts that I have for being

1. “Developing a knowledge base about cultural diversity”Teachers must know that culture is defined by a variety of important factors. “Among these are ethnic groups’ cultural values traditions, communications, learning styles, contributions, and relational patterns” (Gay, 2007, p. 107). Knowing these and how they apply to each culture will help create a stimulating and supportive environment for students.
tion, it also keeps children with diseases from being excluded from schools. Children 6 to 17 cannot be rejected and if the school offers services to younger or older children then they have to offer that to children with disabilities. Zero reject makes sure all children get an equal chance at an education no matter the child’s disability.

Ethnocentrism “are the principle of using one’s own culture as a means or standard by which to evaluate another group or individual, leading to the view that cultures other than one’s own are abnormal or inferior” (Ferris, Jill Stein)(78) . The attitude is that because we believe the same way then our cultures are the same as your friends culture if you go to different churches. The reality is that cultures are all different and worship in different ways. The culture I grew up in is going to a Baptist church, and going to church every Sunday. Then I have a friend of mine that believes in what I believe in, but we worship in different ways he is goes to a non-domination church. He believes we need to stand up, dance, and raise hands to worship, but I believe going to church to singing is my worshiping. The first time I went to my friend’s church I thought it was odd the way they did the service. This is because I had grown up only going to Baptist church services. I still disagree with the way they handle their services compared to what I am used to going to, but I respect it and will still go if I am invited to respect my friend. My understanding of ethnocentrism is that we need to get out of our own comfort zones and experience life and what it has to offer. Learn other cultures, respect them, and you might learn
Goals are important because they help people achieve an objective whether it is short-term or long-term. Goals should be attainable and realistic while still requiring hard work and effort. In order to accomplish goals, goals should be specific, plans must be put in place and carried out in a set amount of time. My short-term goals through the USD Dental Hygiene program consist of learning how to successfully clean and treat patient’s teeth while promoting and educating patients on their overall health with a special focus on oral health. To achieve this goal, I will be required to be actively involved in lectures, spend time out of class studying materials and review already learned information. The National Board Dental Hygiene Examination will test my knowledge and skill.
My goal since day one of high school was to join and complete the Certified Nursing Assistant license’s program. I kept my grades up all years and my attendance sharp so I would be a step ahead of other applicants. Before I knew it, I was starting senior year which meant it was time to turn in my application. The application had many questions; the normal ones like who, what, and why. I turned the application into the teacher and the wait began to see if I was accepted. Little did I know that this was the first of many anxious waits this year. Completing my goal of becoming a licensed CNA would become one of the most nerve racking process in my life.
