My test results from the Myers-Briggs Indicator have articulated my time management skills, study skills, and communication skills. Even though I have characteristic traits from all of the extraverts and introverts, sensing and intuition, thinking and feeling, judging and perceiving categories, the course has been helpful in improving my above mentioned skills. In the area of extraverts and introverts, I have many interests, but have chosen to study subjects that are of the most interest to me. During the power point on the Myers Briggs Type Indicator, as the instructor went through the different types of personalities, I was able to recognize which subcategories I fall into almost instantly. When my computer personality test results were returned, I was correct. As I read the type descriptions of Extroversion, Intuition, Feeling, and Judging- ENFJ- I quickly recognized myself within the descriptive words.
A survey monkey link would be sent to 100 participants. This would include 50 random females and 50 random males. The ages will range from 18-50. There is not a specific preference for characteristics. Mainly, focusing on random assignment to get an idealistic reflection on a whole for introverts and extroverts lifestyles. Assessment techniques and the techniques used are a part of every counselor’s career. It is important that all counselors are aware of the different assessment procedures available as well as the risks and benefits associated with them. I chose to assess the case of Jessica, a medical resident, who has a very high pace and stressful job. She is also a perfectionist and can be very self-critical. Lately, she feels that she is not performing at the level she once was. As a result, she has been experiencing feelings of shame and worthlessness. Jessica has also been increasingly fatigued yet is having difficulty falling asleep at night. She also admits having difficulty concentrating, little interest in sex and has become increasingly irritable
John Adams once said, “Thanks be to God that he gave me stubbornness when I know I am right”. John Adams, like myself was introverted, intellectual, thinking, and judging, or an INTJ on the Myers Briggs personality test. Like all INTJs, Adams was stubborn and flouted the ideas of others that he did not agree with. By using my results from the Meyers Briggs personality test, I can examine how I react to certain things and use this to improve my Spirituality, my relationship with God, and ultimately my relationship with others through Christ.
The world would be a lot better of a place if everyone got along and knew how to communicate effectively with one another. There are several different personalities at any given workplace. “According to typological theory, each of us is born with a predisposition for certain personality preferences” (Kroeger pg11 para4). The Myers-Briggs Personality assessment is the most effective way to determine one’s personality type. The test uses different markers to determine how one is stimulated and exerts energy, gather information, make decisions, and living structure. At the completion of the test one will get personality type that is comprised of four letters. The test was developed based off of Carl Jung and Isabel Briggs-Myers’ psychological research on personalities and later dissected into Otto Kroeger’s book, “Type Talk at Work.” This book gives one the tools to determine what one’s personality is and then goes into great detail about one’s strengths and weaknesses and how it applies to to real life situations. My personality description is ENFP; Extravert, iNtuitive, Feeling, and Perceiving. I definitely believe that there is a benefit to using both the personality test and the intelligence test. People argue the validity of the tests but, it’s more beneficial for an organization to use assessments rather than not. The personality assessment helps to distinguish if an individual is fit for the job. For example, an introvert might not be the best person to hire for a sales position. Not to say that they wouldn’t do well, but someone who is introverted might have to work harder in a social atmosphere. They might not bring as much profit in sales compared to an individual who is extroverted. I think that the use of these tests is a great way to filter through many applicants. I feel my reported Myers Briggs type matched my personality fairly well, however, I definitely know that I am Percieving and not Judging for the final aspect of my personality. The “Profile of…” didn’t quite match my personality as closely as I thought it would, as there were a few phrases I could identify with, but overall I didn’t quite think it was me. The being organized and planning everything out aspect of the ISFJ Profile did not match my personality; I tend to have random energy spikes in doing my work and feel exillerated by the rush of finishing something at the very last moment. My self-estimated type in class did not match my reported type. During class, I jotted down that I was ISFP which was not the same as the ISFJ I got later

The Myers-Briggs test was developed from Carl Jungs theory of “personality types” by Isabel Briggs Myers and her mother Katherine Briggs (Myers, I. B. 2000, pg 6). In order to determine an individual’s type of personality this test was created with specific questions on how information is processed. This test determines whether and individual directs their energy in an introverted or extroverted way. Briggs-Myers tests our life organization through perception and judging and also how information is processed through our intuition and sensing. This test is said to “provide a powerful framework for building better relationships, driving positive change, harnessing innovation, and achieving excellence”. (Myers, I. B. 2000, pg 2).
The Myers-Briggs assessment revealed the same results through the handwritten assessment that was administered during class and electronic versions. Research states that the MBTI, on average, tends to yield scores with acceptable reliability across students (Capraro & Capraro, 2002) According to The Myers & Briggs Foundation, on retests people come out with three to four type preferences the same 75% to 90% of the time (The Myers & Briggs Foundation, n.d). Through many studies, the validity for the MBTI has been proven through the types or particular combinations of preferences, the preferences of dichotomies, and preferences of scales. (The Myers & Briggs Foundation, n.d).
In this section of my leadership development plan, I am asked to examine my personality using the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, which was developed as a job placement tool during the 1930s and 1940s by Katherine Briggs and her daughter, Isabel Briggs-Myers, using the theories of personality presented by Carl Jung a decade earlier (Quenk, 2009). According to the theory, each person tends to fall on one of four sides of opposing scales. The scales are Introversion (I)/Extraversion (E), Sensing (S)/Intuition (N), Thinking (T)/Feeling (F), and Judging (J)/ Perceiving (P). Therefore, it is possible to establish sixteen total permutations of four-letter combinations. After taking the assessment, my personality resulted in the permutation INTP. In this paper, I will write about each of the individual personality components of INTP and discuss the ramifications of each.
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is a psychological, interpersonal, and self-reported assessment instrument based on Jungian theories of personality types. This instrument measures personal differences in the psychological preferences of four domains. These domains include obtaining energy and motivation, processing information, making decisions, and interacting with surrounding people or situations (Aranda, & Tilton, 2013). According to the MBTI in Human-metric personality test, my scores were 12% (E) extroverted thinking more than introverted, 57% (N) intuitive as oppose to sensing, 41% (T) thinking more than feeling, and 59% (J) judging as compared to perceiving. Thus, my personality type is ENTJ.

As an Extravert, I'm the type of person that needs to get out of the house and socialize. At work, I prefer to collaborate on projects. The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is a self-report personality assessment developed by Katharine Cook Briggs and Isabel Briggs Myers based on the typological personality theory of Carl Jung. The MBTI is comprised of four dichotomous nominal scales: Introversion/Extroversion, Sensing/Intuition, Thinking/Feeling, Judgment/Perception. These four scales assign individuals one of sixteen personality types. While the measures of the MBTI themselves are taxonomies, the assigned personality type is a typology- meaning, an INTP is not an introverted ENTP, but an entirely different personality all together. The Myers–Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) enables an individual to gain a deeper insight into their inherent personality traits. For some people, they have had prior knowledge or underlying assumptions about their personality, but this test provides clearer information about each of their identifiable traits. According to the MBTI in Human-metric personality test, my scores were 22% (E) extroverted thinking more than introverted, 9% (N) intuitive as oppose to sensing, 16% (T) thinking more than feeling, and 12% (J) judging as compared to perceiving. Thus, my personality type is ENFJ. The ENFJ personality group is described as a minority group that consists of natural-born leaders, and people filled with passion, and charisma for example, Barack Obama and Oprah Winfrey; they are notable members of this group, also known as the protagonists (16personalities, 2016). The protagonists apprehend pride in providing guidance for others to improve individually and to improve the community at large (16personalities, 2016). The protagonists find it naturally easy to communicate with others and excel at communicating with other people in person (16personalities, 2016).
