Most of the time when someone is told to write a paper, they read the directions and follow the prompt. But when told to think about strengths and weaknesses of how they actually write those papers, it is a good eye opener to realize what needs to be improved and what is already superior quality. For my writing, being a perfectionist is in many ways a strength, but it can also be a weakness. My perfectionism affects all of my other strengths and weaknesses in my writing. I believe that one of my greatest strengths when I write is how well I can clearly comprehend a prompt, and answer it correctly and thoroughly. I take time to think about what I am going to write, and structure it well. Along with structuring my writing, my use of vocabulary
I may tend to run on about a subject or topic and get side tracked. Not being able to get back on track towards the thesis statement can be challenging and difficult as it is one of my anxieties in writing. I am a very opinionated person, which may hurt me in the long run. A lot of times people may not have the same opinions as I do and it may make the reader mad or discouraged. Overall, I believe a writer needs to be able to express themselves and not be distinguished as a bad writer because they believe very strongly about a subject. I have a few weaknesses, butI believe, my strengths overpower my weaknesses and I can stand out as a writer for the
I’ve always struggled with trying to stay focused on my school work. While it may not look like it on the outside, it is a constant struggle in the inside. My mind is like a jungle gym with a bunch of kids zooming around. Sometimes I would just stare at the screen of my computer hoping the words would just appear themselves, but if that ever happened I probably wouldn’t even be here. My brain has these switches in them to tell me to do something else like play a game on your tablet or watch Netflix right when I am writing my essay. It’s how my brain works, and there never seems to be a manual switch because it’s automatic. My lack of focus caused me to face many obstacles, but through my weaknesses I discovered some of my greatest
Firstly, when it comes to my strengths in writing, I do not believe I carry many. Of the few I possess, my word selection is a constant advantage for me. I try not to settle for undereducated vocabulary. I see this as taking the easy way out and I do not believe I learn from this. Another one of my strengths when it comes to writing is my adequate spelling. Accurate spelling is strongly in my nature. When I am reading I can sense when a word is spelled incorrectly. My final strength in writing is organization. I believe my work is clear to follow. This is important so I can get my message across to my reader. Although I am solid in these aspects of my writing, they
My strengths as a writer are: I love to do research and create outlines. I absolutely enjoy to learn about anything, whether it is something I know or like, or if it is something I don’t even know what it is. Obviously, technology these days make it a lot easier to find anything you ever wanted to know about something. I can always find enough references through research to write any paper. I also really like doing the outlines to a paper. I can do a main topic and all that follows very easily and know where to put everything in my outline to make the paper flow and stay interesting.
My weaknesses are greater than my strengths, that’s why I tend to procrastinate my writing assignments. When i actually do my writing assignments I feel as if I could write for hours. I believe one of my strength is coming up with ideas to write about. I believe my life experiences help me get creative to write it down. Another strength of mine is being able to write my writing assignments on time. Some of
My biggest weakness when I walked through those doors as a freshman in August as a writer was my word choice. Personally though it was a rough time. I thought all of the school work was pointless. I did not find a reason to try. So I repeated words over and over again.
My writing strengths include grammar and mechanics and thought out introductions. In my writings, I proofread and edit and revise without fail before turning in an essay. Doing this results in the fixing of grammatical and mechanical errors.
I think my writing strengths would be fast working once the ideas are down and the effort I put into my writing. Some improvements would be getting my ideas down faster and revising them quicker. Another would be getting my ideas
My middle school writing career, I would say was pretty successful. I’ve written about many things, but my favorites were when I wrote narratives preferably fictional, these are always the best to write about, because it sparks up creativity and it gets the reader really interested into the stories. I like reading these sort of stories and that’s where I get a lot of my ideas from. I think in writing my strengths are creativity, punctuation, and attention to audience. My weaknesses are the process of starting a writing (analysis and argument) because at first I’m always doubting myself about what I wrote, but after I get the hang of it, it becomes easier and I can write it more smoothly.
A person's strength was always his weakness. When it comes to reading and writing, I have many strengths and weaknesses. My past writing and reading experiences have made me into the writer/reader that I today. Strengths help me excel in my read/write, but the weaknesses do bring me in a stump at times. When writing an essay, you can have a very high vocabulary, but not have the best of grammar. The good thing about weaknesses is that they can be worked on to be made into a strength. Many people achieve this by setting goals and making the new one harder and harder. Without strengths or weaknesses or even goals, how would people learn from their mistakes, becoming better at what they're not or achieve their aims.
My biggest weakness is my unlikeness for writing. I don’t enjoy writing because I am never satisfied with the papers I write. I read a lot of books, so when I write a paper I want it to be up to my standards. If I never had a deadline, I would continue editing my paper forever. I want my papers to have the perfect tone. I come off as robotic and boring in my papers. My papers are hardly interesting because

Writing is not just as simple as putting words down on a document or a piece of paper, it is a process. Within this intricate process are steps that involve more than just writing, such as critical thinking, planning, and editing. Using these steps has not only helped me when planning an essay but also when composing one. Throughout this course, I have managed to improve many skills and gain a lot of strengths, but I still possess some weaknesses. Overall, I believe my strengths have definitely outgrown these weaknesses and have led to a better, more high-quality writing process which leads to improved essays.
When it comes to writing it isn’t my favorite subject in school. It isn’t something that I am very passionate about or something I enjoy doing, but I do know that I am a good writer. I’d say I am above average but I’m not a first-class writer. However, just like anyone else in anything I have my strengths and my weaknesses. My two best strengths in writing are being able to stay on topic and including good references, like facts. My two main weaknesses are me not always being able to focus and I don’t think I always use too descriptive of words. I feel though my weaknesses are minor ones, they can be easily fixed if I just focus on correcting them.
When I am given an assignment, the first thing I do is think about how I am going to write it. Then I begin writing down my thoughts until I can't think of anything else to add. When I have no new ideas I start to get bored and then I begin to procrastinate. Procrastinating is one of my biggest weaknesses. I always wait until just a few days before the paper is due to really start working on it hard. Another weakness of mine is that it's hard for me to put my thoughts into words and sentences that make sense. Something I have never understood are semicolons. I don’t know when I should use them and when I should not. I would say that my biggest strengths are that I always write in complete sentences and use good vocabulary.
