My most favorite genres are action, adventure, and mystery. I would read about any fiction book (non-fiction is a whole different story) and it will probably be an okay book, but nothing can beat action, adventure, and mystery. I'm okay with non-fiction but they really aren't my favorites. I like some non-fiction books but others they get really boring and I start to fall asleep. If you told me to read a dictionary I would fall asleep before I got to the word aardvark, the second word in many dictionaries. My strength in writing is creativity, at least I think so, I try to excite or grab the attention of the reader in different ways instead of the norm. Grammar is my main downfall in writing, I always some how mess up, even if it's only a
Predominately I enjoy writing the most, I am fond of finding the right words and arranging them in a way that expresses my point or tells a story. Chiefly I dislike the technicalities of English, mainly the stipulations of grammar. Therefore, I hope to improve upon this skill.
Reading is really great, but for me, I do not like writing as much as reading. Many people enjoy writing over reading, except I am complete opposite. When I sit down and read a good book, I can read for hours. Writing on the other hand, just does not come naturally. Books like, American Sniper, The Monuments Men, and Unbroken really got me interested in reading books about war and history. I like to write, if it is a topic I can write about. If I get an easy topic, that I can brainstorm great idea’s.
I do not like writing, and maybe that is because writing has always been the subject I earned the worst grades in, but teachers never encouraged me to do better at the subject. This is what led me to reach out to other subjects like fine arts and CTE. I found that I could express myself better through photography and music than I could ever express myself through
My greatest strengths in writing are my great decision making when it comes to choosing an interesting topic to talk about such as the compare and conrast bisexual vs
Firstly, when it comes to my strengths in writing, I do not believe I carry many. Of the few I possess, my word selection is a constant advantage for me. I try not to settle for undereducated vocabulary. I see this as taking the easy way out and I do not believe I learn from this. Another one of my strengths when it comes to writing is my adequate spelling. Accurate spelling is strongly in my nature. When I am reading I can sense when a word is spelled incorrectly. My final strength in writing is organization. I believe my work is clear to follow. This is important so I can get my message across to my reader. Although I am solid in these aspects of my writing, they
My greatest assets as a writer are proofreading and research. I have a wide area of interests and it’s hard for me to decide which thing I would like to write about. I love to research and study politics, and coming from Alabama I have a front row seat to one of the most corrupt governing bodies in the United States. Another thing that all Bama people know about is college football. I started following the games in elementary school and they are as much a part of my life as any comic or book I have ever read. My greatest interest is writing for comics. Since I was a small boy I have gravitated to the world of superheroes and super villains. I enjoy taking a character and making them fight an injustice or stand up for a cause. The best characters always have a mountain to climb; I enjoy putting higher and higher peaks on that mountain.
One skill that I have as a writer that I think is my strong suit is being able to think creatively. In my opinion fiction writing is one of the best type of writing there is. For me it’s easy. I can use my own ideas and think of some crazy plots and twist within the story. I’ve written stories before right off the top of my head, like it was just a second nature.
When I am writing narratives, I use many different characteristics to describe the characters, and when I was watching Ted Talks and doing the chart, it made me think about the speaker’s features and how I can use them to describe my characters better. Also, I use my time efficiently I don’t fool around and talk to others. I get right to my work and complete it. I accept writing criticism very well too, I use it to improve my writing. Another strength that I have in writing is I have excellent spelling, and I punctuate very well. Likewise in writing, I also have my strengths in reading. While reading a novel, I can illustrate what is going on in the book or the story in my mind which helps me understand that story more. It helps me to ‘get into’ the book. Also, another strength that I have in reading is that I can annotate and get information out of books very well. That, coupled with the fact that I am very good at figuring out hidden messages or finding the theme of the book. Notes I take from the novel help when I am flipping back through the book to support my theme or message with evidence.
I personally enjoy writing. I always have and I, likely, always will. However, I severely struggle under certain writing conditions and prompts. For example, I found the investigation essay extremely difficult. I was largely unable to grasp how to investigate the truth behind cat erections. While I did receive an average grade of an 88%, I felt that my investigation essay was one of the worst papers I have ever wrote. In fact, I was worried I would receive a horrible grade on that essay.
I would have to say writing and public speaking are two of my least favorite things. When I say public speaking, I mean more than myself in the room. If I am writing, I at least have time to revise my statements if I come off too harsh. My greatest strengths in writing would be that I have a very diverse background of life experience to draw from. While I really dislike writing, if I find something I am very passionate about I may make a comment on a blog or put my “two cents” in while watching a chat room. However, It would be uncommon for me to do either of those things frequently. If I had to choose a job in the writing field. I would write technical manuals or help me guides. I think technical writing is my greatest writing strength. There
Me as i writing isn't my favorite but i like to tell fiction stories. My parents and my parents friends feel i should be an editor and director. I kinda like to write about fiction stuff. So like yes and no. No if we are writing about nonfiction stuff like memoir. Yes if it's about stories we make up. I once made a whole story about this monkey and he had escaped from a zoo because he was the world's first talking monkey. They were putting needles in him and he did not like it and i was his best or a fiction character he was amusing monkey i like the story a lot. Strength and weakness i have are like my weakness is say sand stuff a lot because Mrs.Estel would always tell me to get rid of them and stuff <<<<<
The weaknesses I have as a writer is when writing essays my grammar and vocabulary aren’t that well, which makes it harder for me to write my essays. This makes the structure of my paragraph not good and makes some sentences not make any sense. Another weakness that I have in writing is that I don’t add enough evidence in my paragraphs for my essays. This makes the paragraphs lack content which doesn’t help me prove my point that I am trying to prove in that essay. Some weaknesses I have in reading is that I lose focus to quick. A lot of long novels or stories don’t suit me because I can't focus or pay attention to the book for long periods of time. When I am reading carelessly and can’t focus on the book I don’t understand anything
Although systemically different depending on the genre, style of writing and topic that is provided for me, the ultimate end product of my writing process contains hints of writing characteristics unique to my style of writing. If I am given a writing piece that provides a series of prompts that I can chose from, my process for writing this piece will start by creating a web. This web will contain a rough outline for each individual prompt, followed by a series of ideas that I have stimulated around the provided topic. Ultimately I will weigh the pros and cons for each prompt. It is here where I will look for which approach I can take that will best suit incorporating my personal voice. Utilizing my own voice in my writing is undoubtedly what
When i was younger i used to enjoy writing, for me writing was an escape. I would use writing to let go of feelings that i couldn't share with people. So my creative writing style would have to be dramatic, like all the obstacles i have overcame and how i got through them. Although i also enjoyed writing fictional stories because you're able to let your imagination run amok. As i said before about escaping reality, i use it in the same way to write fiction stories. I get to be creative writing and there really is not an boundaries to using your imagination. So many amazing books and movies are fiction, so if i was out shopping for a writing style i would choose primarily
I like being able to write about things that I’m interested in, or about things that I know a lot about. That’s why I prefer writing outside of school, there are no requirements, there are no grades, and there’s no pressure. Most of what I write is just short notes on my phone about a dream I had or about I cool idea I thought of. I also like writing letters to myself (futureme.org) because I think it’s fun to read them and to look back to when I wrote them. Overall though, I’d say my favorite genre to write would be fiction. I like having the opportunity to create my own world where anything can happen. I can have dragons and fairies and personified objects and it’s all just really fun and
