Writing this class is really a challenge for me.I never thought I would spend so much time writing. This is something I've never had before. However, I will turn the impossible into a possibility in this semester, and I believe I can do it.Because there is a good saying that you don't try to see how you know you can't do it.It is true that I will complete my challenge in this semester and keep moving towards my goal.In the future, my goal is to be a good salesman, and this skill is absolutely indispensable. To convince a person, you have to present your own points of interest and strong empirical evidence that you are right.Writing this class is the best way to strengthen this skill.I want to talk about how I grew up in writing and how much skill I learned.I'm going to tell you what I have encountered in writing and what challenges I have and how I overcame him. There are three challenges that I find difficult. At the beginning, the Internet quotes a strong and powerful argument to support my article with the use of grammar and paragraph architecture.
From elementary school to high school, I was taught that my writing had to be structured and follow strict criteria. After I arrived in Mr. Mukherjee’s ENG 102 class, I was given the opportunity to express my creative freedom through words and graphical pictures. It can often be difficult and challenging to improve upon my own writing abilities unless motived with an idea in mind. When looking back on my time at ASU, I thought about the goals that I wanted to address for myself and the course goals that my instructor had set for the class. These goals include ones that I had accomplished to the best of my ability and ones that I need to address as well as improve.
There comes a time in life where we see an impossible obstacle, and do the best that we can to overcome it. For me, this was my AP English Language class in high school during senior year. The time was now, summer is nearly over. I analyzed my strengths and weaknesses, giving a full re-evaluation of myself. In the end, I consider myself an average writer. There have been times in the past when I’ve written letters or personal stories. However, those have never been my strongest set of skills. While I have been serious with my writing, I never recognized the unbelievable advantages that good writing has. Therefore, I’ve made it my goal to improve my literal skills and become a great writer. Maybe this new class will assist me in becoming that
The art of writing is a complex and difficult process. Proper writing requires careful planning, revision, and proofreading. Throughout the past semester, the quality of my writing has evolved significantly. At first, I struggled with the separation of different types of paragraphs, and I found writing them laborious. Constant practice, however, has eliminated many of my original difficulties, and helped to inspire confidence in my skills. As a collegiate writer, my strength lies in my clear understanding of the fundamentals of writing, while my primary weakness is proofreading my own work.
I am tearing my hair to squeeze every single word from my poor mind to finish this letter. Yet deep in my frontal cortex, there is no part of mechanisms that is designed for writing a self-analyzing letter to my instructors. However, it has been ten weeks I studied in this course, and all my favorite works in these ten weeks are gathering in this tiny portfolio. I have wrote a several rhetorical practices that taught me basic rules of rhetorical essays. I have wrote a rhetorical analysis, which explained both the thesis of the reading and my own arguments against the reading. I finished my last rhetorical project three days ago with telling another interesting story. All these assignments were tiny pieces of my writing style and they built up together to present me a general concept of being a successful writer. I learned that, and I made a number of changes to upgrade my writing skills. At last, I decide to offer you these changes I have made as a start-up story writer in the college.
Over the course of this semester, my confidence in writing has improved greatly. In high school, I didn’t really know how to write effectively. I wasn’t really sure what was considered to be “good writing” until I took AP* English. However, even while I was taking this “Advanced Placement” class, I was still trying to figure out how to really create “good writing”. I feel as if this had something to do with the fact that I never really had to work with the rules of grammar intensively. After taking this course, however, I now have a much better understanding of how to correctly use proper grammar. I also improved on using transitional phrases in my writing. I have implemented my understanding of proper grammar and transitional phrases in both my writing inside and outside of this class as a result.
Writing is a practice that most of us were taught when we were young. We were taught the basics of grammar, how to form a sentence, conjunction words, how to write paragraphs and more. Although we have learned this skill while growing up and have used the skill every year after entering kindergarten, this does not mean our writing process will ensure the best work. The authors that I chose each encourage their audience to excel in the art of writing in their own way to help with the writing process.
Throughout my time in the class I've become accquainted with fellow students and recieved lessons on the principles of writing. I hope to gain as much knowledge on this subject throughout the semester as well as in RWS 1302. Graduating as soon as possible is a goal I am set to accomplish. Therefore, I will strive to work to the best of my abilities in order to complete the course and obtain a well deserved grade. In this website I will present my writing pieces, goals, and information about myself. Please feel free to offer constructive criticism and contact
From the public outcry of unethical sweatshops in the 90s to the Rana Plaza collapse of 2013, the issue of whether corporations should engage in corporate social responsibility (CSR) has been a topic of debate. When determining whether branded apparel corporations should engage in CSR or not, there are many factors to consider, like questions of economics, legality, and philosophical outlook. From the factors mentioned, philosophical outlooks are extremely subjective and hard to solidify into legitimate reasons, so I will not explore into such domain. In terms of legality, corporations are not obligated by law to engage in CSR. CSR is the idea by which corporations voluntarily choose
Growing up in elementary school every day presented a new obstacle that needed to be overcome. Most of the time they were reading and writing challenges, and most of the other students at my grade level didn’t have the difficult time I did.
While attending writing class, I learned about the 4 steps in writing, bases for revising, organizing, and connecting specific information, and I also learned about the different types of essays such as descriptive, narrative, process, cause and effect and argumentative essay. I have been a student at Milwaukee Area Technical College for 1 semester, and over the course of my enrollment I have grown and learned more that I knew prior to attending this writing course. Participating in this writing class has taught me so much more than stuff about literature and language, it has taught me another way of expressing myself. I have learned here how to write and express myself, how to think for myself, and how to find the answers to the things that I don 't know. Most importantly I have learned how important technique, outlines and organization are. My goal in this paper is to inform writers about how my writing skills have improved.
During the course of this semester; the variety of writing styles and essays assigned to me in my communication skills class encouraged the development of my writing skills, as well as provided me with more self-assurance in my abilities. My writing, research, and presentation abilities enhanced through practice, determination, and the understanding I gained during this course. With every single writing assignment, I learned new innovative approaches and skills, which enhanced my abilities to improve my thoughts logically, enabling me to write more clearly, and to organize my papers more effectively. At the beginning of this semester; despite the fact that I already knew the terminology MAP: message, audience, purpose; I never really
Dear Mr. Wilhite, I am extremely intrigued for writing class this year. I hope in this class I will be able to grow into a more proficient writer; to go beyond the basic level of writing I am at now. One of my most problematic areas in writing is when I fail to truly commutate my idea. I may try to clearly convey my points, but my writing still seems choppy, underdeveloped, and it makes for an unpleasant read. That, and my grammar makes for a bumpy adventure for whoever reads my work. Hopefully during these next couple of semesters I will be able to overcome those issues so in the future I can focus more on improving my technique. For me, my favorite kind of writing is simply when I have the opportunity to write about something I feel passionate
My skills to create had improved at this time. This class has shown me that limited knowledge of a subject cause great difficulties when writing. The problem is increases more when more information cannot be found. I know that I could not ever write fiction. I feel I could have done a lot better if there were topic choices more geared toward one’s field of study. Writing on a subject that one has knowledge of or already is interested in is more enjoyable. My argument essay was by far the easiest to write because of this.
This semester has provided me with a lot of new strategies that have allowed me to become a better writer. Throughout this semester, I have noticed that my old writing style had a bunch of errors and grammatical errors that I can now avoid. In this letter, I will talk about how my writing skills have improved by using the grammatical rule as well using the rhetorical situation, evidence and my emotions that I have put out in my assignments. The way I will show that is by giving examples within two paper I have constructed in class this semester: the thesis based essay titled:” The American Dream Then and Now’ and paragraph one assignment titled “Does an certain genre of music have an effect on people”.
Throughout this semester, I have been faced with many challenges. One of these challenges was not knowing how to correctly use the comma. But with the quizzes we took and many writings we wrote, it has really helped my writing. For example, at the beginning of the year when I wrote my introduction letter, I was writing sentences that were short, choppy and not very complex. But now, I have moved passed that and am using bigger and better sentences. Just like in my research paper when I used this sentence, “For instance, an old Pittsburgh Steelers center, Mike Webster, had played in the National Football League for seventeen years”(Peter). This sentences shows me being able to use a comma in the right place and it is even a complex sentence. However, I know if we did not have those tests, I would not be as good with them as I am now.
