My success profiler says that I held stress well that it’s in my strengths but my decision making could use some improvements. That I need to think before I act to be clam and not let it get to me. That if I don’t think things through I will regret it later, also that I’m a type of person who often can over think and try to over compensate. But I do have some strengths I can make decisions quickly and I do have a weakness when it comes to stress management I can often let it take over and let it overwhelm me. That I let things become too much that I need to learn to relax and keep calm. It’s one of the things that I need to improve on and try to focus on. One of the ways I believe I could improve my stress management is to learn to just block everything out and focus on one thing at a time. Not to let it overwhelm me to become calm and try and not let it take over my life because when I do I get no sleep and I get headaches. That whatever I’m stressing over shouldn’t be affecting my health. That the people who stress me out and the things are just a part of life that I need to learn to accept it to be fine with that thing like this …show more content…
Like I said before I can think before I act which can lead to bad decisions and terrible consequences. Which then can tie into my stress which I mentioned earlier that also needs improvement. I will learn to think things through and not just hop into whatever decision that pops into my head. To actually sit and think for a while to make sure when I make a decision that it’s when I’m calm and not overwhelmed. That a decision I make today could affect the rest of life that it could have a chain reaction to everything else. For when I get older and I get job or college offers the decision I could make could decide the rest of my future. I’ve realized that no decision is small or minor that I should treat each and every single one as equally
You must try to change the situation or change your reaction to the situation. At times stress can be avoided. You must know your limits and stick to them. You must try to avoid people who stress you out. You must look at your daily work and decide between the “should” and the “must”. If you can’t avoid a stressful situation you would change things to avoid the problem in the future. You must focus on the positive things in life more than negative because by keep thinking about the negative things u will be more stressed. You must share your feelings with others and learn to forgive. You must also make time for fun activates and relaxation.
I found a few pieces of good advice from both Leo Babauta's Simple Living Manifesto and Jonathan Mead's article entitled "10 Ways to Un-bake Your Brain" on how to help with this stress. My favorite piece of advice is to get lost in some good music. To me music is a huge part of my life and can reflect moods that we are in and also turn moods upside down. I can totally get behind listening to the right music that can help get me back into a less stressed better state of mind. I also Like the idea of learning to say no.
When Adams-Wood joined Pearson, the key strategy for digital learning software development was the Waterfall model where Pearson team only does the detailed documentation of the product development and core development was contracted to the external agencies. Adams-Wood implemented the agile development methodology which involved focus on short development iterations and communication over documentation
I agree with Kelly McGonigal, not because whatever she said, is true about stress, but I feel that situation in my life. As she said that stress can be the healthier and gives you joy and meaning of a life. For example, I am not sure that this has been with me since I born, but I need stress in order to survive, and studying well because if I don’t have stress than I feel like helpless, or shiftless. Likewise, people need to distinguish between the good and bad stress before looking the result of it. Similarly, this topic is like “ see and think always right for better opportunities and for being a better
At the beginning of my first year in JROTC, I took something called a Success Profiler which is an eighty four question test that analyzes characteristics I had such as self-esteem, decision making, and time management. In some categories, I went from a medium or low rated analysis to a high or medium rated analysis, which is the purpose of taking these Success Profiler’s. To explain, the success profiler is supposed to show us characteristics that we have and teach us how to improve the low rated ones and overall become better citizens. The Success Profiler allowed me to see which areas I can improve on, how to improve them, and become a better citizen.
Most of my life has been pretty simple and I have not had a lot of hard problems, consequently, developing problem solving skills in an environment with very little problems has been difficult. I know I do not have this skill because whenever I reach a bump in the road, I almost always need help overcoming the complication. Anytime I have a homework problem that I do not understand or am having a hard time with a school subject, I usually expect my parents to help me out and when they aren’t able to I usually get panicked and give up. To work on this skill, I am going to spend more time asking teachers questions when I do not understand a concept in class and use my resource periods more wisely. I am also going to work on my mindful thinking and use the breathing techniques that I am learning in the mindfulness lessons that my school provides. Decision making can go hand in hand with problem solving, making it another essential skill that I have not yet developed. I knew I did not have this skill from a young age, when I began to jump around from activity to activity. First I started with soccer then switched to swimming and then to gymnastics, and to this day I have not kept any of those sports. Even in small scale decisions, like what to pick at a restaurant, can make me frustrated. There are going to be a lot of big decisions
In my success profiler my two strongest areas are time management and physical wellness. I can also prove that by the fact that I turn in most of my homework’s on time and if I don’t they are probably because not understanding them and asking my teacher to turn them in late. Also I can prove that my physical wellness is one of my strongest ones by outlining my schedule of every day. Even though those are my two strongest points I have others that are strong too, such as stress management. In my success profiler my strongest area is time management. Before they giving me the scores I knew that was going to be my strongest area. I know that because every day I take a time to do the things that I have to get done. In my physical wellness
In my success profile, there are some things that are still the same and different in this essay I will be talking about the different things that I have improved on and the stuff I still have to improve on .
(Esposito, 2016).” Facing fears and problems makes a person stronger than ever, turn your fears into your strength and life will be easier to live. Believing in yourself is a crucial factor in overcoming mental depression. Being scared doesn’t help and as Linda Esposito said there are more good things happening in the world than scary things (2016). Dealing with stress may not be as easy as it sounds, but there are methods which can reduce stress. Looking at things from a different perspective helps dealing with stress. Avoid looking at tiny details and look at the bigger picture, this helps in avoiding stress and negative thoughts in mind. Linda Esposito explained this by The Helicopter View Exercise, in this exercise the person is told to imagine that they are in a helicopter and are looking down at their problems, as the helicopter flies higher a broader picture can be seen and the tiny problem is barely visible (2016). This exercise helps the person learn that
I was surprised at first after reading the results of the My Success Plan activity. I thought my writing score would be higher than it was and my math score would be lower. But after reviewing it closely I realized that after not being in school or in a setting where I need to use correct grammar that it is definitely something I need to work on. I find it interesting that my primary learning styles were equally Aural, Social, and Solitary. I had never heard of Aural learning style before this test but after reading the description I have to agree that it is fitting. Also I was shocked that my reading recall was 90%, I had thought it would be lower.
When I first started out this school year I was a totally different person than I am right now. The success profiler showed me the kind of person that I was, and also the strengths and weaknesses that I had as a person.
The last two years have been met with success and failure. However, my successes by far outweigh my failures. My three successes include, winning three scholarships, receiving all A’s for the last five consecutive semesters, as well as purchasing a new iMac computer.
As Mahatma Gandhi said, "Man often becomes what he believes himself to be." Therefore, if you feel that you are a very stressed person or doomed to feel stressed out, then you will likely find ways to manifest that stress through your perception on life. In addition, you won 't even bother to learn how to deal with stress because you won 't believe you can.
Another way one can manage stress is through breathing control and meditation. Breathing control includes the “take ten deep breaths” attempt to managing stress. Breathing helps one to calm themselves, and to think more
There are many ways to reduce or handle stress in your life. The easiest and one of the healthiest antidotes for stress is laughter. Just smiling helps because it releases blood flow to the brain and endorphins are released. (4.) This gives a sense of well being. Some other simple techniques are doing uninterrupted breathing. Another stressor is lack of sleep. Therefore break the stress-sleeplessness cycle. You can help relieve your sleep problem by developing a daily sleep routine and don’t drink alcohol or caffeine before bed. Another thing is to reserve your bedroom for sleeping and sex only. (4.) Writing down your feeling in a diary may help relieve emotional stress. (4.)
