I was surprised at first after reading the results of the My Success Plan activity. I thought my writing score would be higher than it was and my math score would be lower. But after reviewing it closely I realized that after not being in school or in a setting where I need to use correct grammar that it is definitely something I need to work on. I find it interesting that my primary learning styles were equally Aural, Social, and Solitary. I had never heard of Aural learning style before this test but after reading the description I have to agree that it is fitting. Also I was shocked that my reading recall was 90%, I had thought it would be lower.
After reviewing both the SNHU Support Services Video and My Success Plan activity results
What Drives Success a New York Times article written by two professors and authors Amy Chua and Jed Rubenfield, that claim that success in cultural groups is not just " random " or cultural tradition but it is because of three-character qualities- a quality of being better than everything else, complexity, source of mental worry, and the ability to control sudden desires. Now these qualities are seen in everyday communities and the author highlights that and refers back to how different groups of people related by culture, race, religion, etc. have accessed this formula throughout history. They then refer to major empires and the rising and falling of them in human history. They argue that why the empires commonly fall is because of one or more of the three reasons that drove them to success. The authors of this article use Ethos, Logos, and Pathos to strength and build their claim throughout the article.
When first taking the success profiler, I was astonished with the answers it showed me that I had. There was only one red category and five orange categories and it stunned me because I continued to think that these categories I scored negatively in were some of my best characteristics. Sales orientation was the one red category which basically means how good I am at selling myself to others. I wasn’t really good at this at the beginning of the year, but I have improved by changing my attitude to others The other orange categories I have also learned how to improve by taking the class to show me how
As Andrea Caumont in her research “6 Key Finding about Going to College,” clarifies, “College grades are more satisfied with their jobs.” In college, especially in these days, students who finished their studying in college are finding “themselves on a career path, rather than just working at a job to get them by” (Caumont). From this point, students who are doing well in college life, and who are responsible for themselves in organizing their time, their work, and their life, are successful. Also, from the charts that are in Caumont’s article; 73% of people who got their two years’ degree from colleges have found a career with it, and 43% of them have
This assignment requires a written assessment with reference to learning outcomes 1, 3, 4 and 6. I will therefore take each question one by one. Learning outcomes 2 and 5 will be covered by formative assessment, which will provide the 50/50 split required.
In this week’s reading, Clear Pathways to Success, George and his colleagues recorded that students from Project Documenting Effective Educational Practice (DEEP) institutions overall do better as a student. DEEP institutions acculturate their students about the schools programs, resources and values as well as aligning the students with the available resources and letting the students know that they can use them whenever they need them. DEEP institutions acknowledge that if they make the curriculum too exhausting students may drop out. But if they make it effortless the students will not challenge themselves. That is why DEEP institutions believe it is best if the students feel more of a community or family so that they feel like they belong
Throughout my accomplishments , and even disappointments I have been specially proud of the dedication I posses for my personal beliefs and values. In 2 years I developed from being a really shy , quiet person to an active member of the society that strives to take action and make a difference. Being the Secretary of the Interact Rotary Sponsored club has cultivated great sense of leadership in me , I’m also an active member of other local clubs and I’ve taken part in charity events and I modeled for a few as well. Being a a gymnast has taught me that quitting never feels as good as conquering your own fears and that’s exactly why I’m always challenging myself. Participating in the YES program is a challenge that wont only highlight
A survey done by Dora Mekouar shows that 75 percent of Americans believe they are successful, but what is success? Is it achieving all one's’ life goals, (which only half say they have) or is it being rich, which only 34 percent of Americans believe is important (Mekouar).
How do you demonstrate success in your life? Well if you are wondering, my success occurs in many forms and has many meanings. It includes being happy with myself and being where I want to be in life. My success also typically means finishing something that I have worked hard at. Right now, I feel great for the accomplishment of my academic success in this Summer Term-A 2016 at Miami Dade College. Where I am excelled my previous performances, such as better tests grade, engage in classroom activities, and articulate myself in public. Moreover, my academic success ranges from getting an A on a test or paper to learn from my professors, my fellow peers, and my failures. The leadings factors that result my success in this term at Miami Dade College are time management, study skills, and personal factors.
When reflecting back on The Success Principles, the key takeaway that comes through clearly in the text is that success is the result of action and mindset. Canfield suggests that the reader do activities such as write out their vision and mission for their life, write down meaningful goals and create vision boards. The point of doing all of this is to imagine and believe in what’s possible. After all, if you were bogged down in negative feelings and thoughts, it would feel impossible to achieve what you desired. That’s why Canfield emphasizes creating a positive, success-driven mindset that will support you daily.

The Code of Ethics relates to the 6 program outcomes in multiple ways. One of the program outcomes says, that we should demonstrate caring behaviors when providing care with respect of the individual. This is similar idea and has the same wording as the Code of Ethics which states that a nurse should practice with compassion and respect. Also, in the Code of Ethics it is said that the nurse has the authority and accountability for the nursing practice. The way that it is said on the program outcomes is that nurses are to apply knowledge and skills for the nursing practice. This is comparable because one is saying that the nurse is accountable for the nursing practice, and the other said it is the nurses responsibility to have the knowledge
These strategies from the Learn Smart textbook I will use in the present and the future. I have already started using a site called Grammy.com that I learned about after taking “My Success Plan Activity”. This site has been a great
Ring, went the bell signaling that fourth period was over. "Yay! We Mr. Bond's class next," I excitedly told my best friend Danniele as we walked out of art. "Ugh, I wish Mrs. Jones taught art at Dean," she said as we walked to class. After the short walk to class, I took my seat next to Danniele and got out my homework. As the bell rang for family time to begin, a guy walks in with a schedule in his hands, Based on that and the whispers around me, I figure out that he's the new kid. The more I looked at him, the more familiar he seemed. That's when it hit me he looked like a kid I knew named Jaymez back in first grade but I wasn't sure. I made a mental note to ask him about it later. Quickly I shook the idea from my head and paid attention to what Mr. Bond was saying.
The plan for success F.I..T.T calendar was a extremely helpful in me striving for this goal. Because I did make me organized and prepared for the next day and the next goal. The calendar presented me small challenges on the specific goal allowing me to eventually build up to the bigger goal ahead. Kept organized and create a system that was effect in decreasing my mile time. The daily logs were neither helpful nor unhelpful. They are good recourse to see if we are keeping up with our goal other then that, I thought it was just something I had to
Linguists consider language as a living asset. It rises, develops and eventually dies. If we consider the language our grandparents use, we surely remark some differences with our language usage. My grandmother still says “ bencileyin” instead of “ benim gibi” for instance. The improving technology, the intercultural attainability ,etc...bring new words into our vocabulary or change their actual meaning. Although language develops naturally through generations, in history we can see examples of active intervention of authorities in languages. The language reform in Turkey is an example of such an intervention. The fledging Turkish government obviously needed an attempt in the language for several
