My Responsibility to America:
A Citizen’s Commitment Some individuals tend to dread the words “responsibility” and “commitment” in typical matters of life; however, when involved with their rights and their country, many exhibit a deep sense of patriotism. Responsibility and commitment carry a weight that many are unwilling to bear. However, many perceive that the patriotic responsibilities that protect and encourage our freedoms are worth defending. You observe this in those who willingly risk their lives, in those who use their careers for the betterment of others, in those who profess their beliefs despite opposing voices, and in those who uphold and obey the law. My patriotism begets my desire to serve my country. My fundamental responsibilities

Rockefeller stated, “Every right implies a responsibility; every opportunity, an obligation, every possession, a duty.” With what I am given, I am to return. Welcomed or not, each citizen has responsibilities to his country. I wholeheartedly believe that my commitment to my country and fulfilling my duties are necessities rather than choices. We are a blessed country, not only due to the grace of God, but also because of each citizen's willingness to exercise their responsibilities.
As an American citizen, I am responsible to ensure that all people are treated equally. I will always be impacted by those surrounding me. Basically, there are two principles of equality granted to all Americans: equality of justice and equality of franchise. No citizen should be accused of something because of a leader or judge’s bias. Also, every American has the right to vote. If I notice a citizen being treated unfairly, I am responsible to speak on their behalf to protect this

Without a sound knowledge of politics, how can I influence and be involved with the government? Additionally, I need to be willing to face persecution for my faith. God’s standards and laws are not considered popular nor are they accepted, but that does not make Him wrong; it makes the nation blind to His will. I am responsible to inform others of right and wrong, regardless if they accept these truths. When I face persecution, I will turn to the Gospel to solve political issues. The Bible contains all the instructions we need as a country, and I will abide by His laws first and foremost. As the opportunities arise, I am compelled to share with unbelievers the Bible’s truths and standards for
We all share a common responsibility in the success of the land of the free. It is our upmost duty to allow our brothers and sisters around us to feel welcome and safe of the worlds they are running from. As an American citizen, I hold up my responsibility by allowing myself to become aware and appreciative of the cultures around me. As members of Congress, the American people look up to you to be our voices through your legislative actions. Each and every
Webster’s New Collegiate Dictionary defines duty as an obligatory task, conduct, service or function. In order for the United States to continue its dominance, each of its citizens must have this sense of duty within them, although some have it more than others. From the times of the Spanish- American War to the Progressive Era countless individuals have attempted to raise their voice for the better of themselves and others as well. During the the Spanish- American war hundreds of men took it upon themselves to fight for their country and protect their fellow soldiers. Similarly the Progressive Era was marked by suffragists and anti child labor activists who were willing to die to get their points across for change. Although the United States
I think that my responsibility to my country is to give back. The United States of America is my home; it’s where I took my first steps, where I was taught to grow, to be kind. I believe that it’s my duty to give back to my community, my state, my whole life, by becoming a good person. When I say “good person” I don’t mean just saying nice things to people. I mean actually standing up and making a positive difference in my community’s lives, including mine.
My responsibility to America is something I've never thought about before. I've never taken the time to look at everything that this country has given me, and what I need to give back to it. Now that I have started thinking about what this country has done not only for me, but the people around me; I have realized that for my sake, and my future family, I want to get out of here as soon as I can. I don't want to live in a country that decides that it is a better idea to supply money to the oil companies that go into other countries and create problems which lead to war, rather then using that money to give the veterans that are out on the street a place to live and food to eat. I don't want to live in a country where healthcare doesn't come
My Responsibility to America As a citizen of America, I receive many benefits from my country—a number of wonderful opportunities to educate myself and develop a career, a safe and healthy place to live, a country rich in natural resources, many varied places to call home, a comfortable lifestyle. In return, I feel that I have a duty to America, a duty to repay my country for the security and opportunities it has provided me. I have found an opportunity to give back to America because it needs someone to rise up and ensure we lose no more liberty. Day after day, our freedoms are taken away, and with every successive president, we lose more and more of our privileges.
Ensuring the safety of the American people and homeland is the first and most fundamental obligation of the American government. Current policies are not fulfilling that obligation and are unlikely to do so if continued. This planning exercise has therefore focused exclusively on the problems that threaten the safety and prosperity of the American people and on ways of ensuring their security today and into the future. No secondary considerations – democracy promotion, humanitarian activities, or support and expansion of American values, for example – have been allowed to intrude into our deliberations, despite the importance we and many Americans attach to each.
Respecting and following the laws that authority tries to enforce is a responsibility to any citizen of America. Almost every person breaks the law in America it doesn 't matter if it
Everybody is always saying how America is falling apart, the other countries are passing us, “we need to make America great again”. But what are we doing about it? Just saying what our problems are doesn't solve a thing. Every one of us as individuals needs to take charge and think not what this country can do for you, but what you can do for your country. Two of the biggest role models in my life are my grandparents. They were immigrants. They moved here from the Czech Republic with my mom and my uncle, the clothes on their backs and nothing else. They knew no english. They found an old rundown house in Houston to live in. It was located in the worst, trashy neighborhood. The type of neighborhood that had rottweilers running around loose and
While few advocates of patriotism would argue against the value of adopting patriotic beliefs, the touchstone of patriotism involves a readiness to act for your country. Kateb interprets this as “ a readiness to die and to kill,” for one’s country. However, his claims can be easily countered; even if full-fledged patriotism does involve a willingness to die for one’s country it is not defined by it. Instead a true patriot promises to uphold and advance a set of principles, even when his country does not. The U.S. supreme court notes that “an informed public is the most potent of all restraints upon misgovernment.” After all, patriotism, however social in nature, is a political
Politics are acquainted with injustice, and therefore, Christians should not stop seeking justice. Every institution, including Gods ordained-institutions, contain human sinfulness and disobedience. The call of many Christians is to appeal to political leaders and allow God to use them to realign the agenda back to the God-ordained task. The Christian should be concerned with social justice and have a view of politics as a genuine channel to attain justice.
Patriotism, Federalism, and Nationalism is what keeps America thriving exceptionally. The government was designed to help protect the peace of the land, and to preserve our liberties. An in return Americans patriotic actions demonstrate patriotism, simply by showing respect, love, and support to one another and to the land. Until you are willing to sacrifice it all, for your nation is true love of one’s country. Weather recognizing where your loyalty lie is essential or not. Coming together, working together to secure common goals and interests is the way to go. Knowing you made a difference by serving your country is what makes it yours. However, in this millennium Americans forgot the original concept and value of patriotism, but is loyal to the glory and festivity associated with patriotism. Nevertheless patriotism is much more than carrying around a flag shouting I’m patriotic. It is about dedicating your time and effort to achieve common goals, a noble leader with good intentions that is willing to put the well-being of the nations before any and everything, and the people willing to defend ones country.
American citizens are required to respect and follow all laws, from federal to local, or face consequences if they disobey the laws. Laws are set up to maintain a safe and stable community for the citizens. Citizens have to pay taxes, which help fund government activities and employees. The citizens are expected to vote, because the purpose of the democracy is to ensure that the elected officials best represent the American citizens. If we do not put in our input on who will be representing us, it will all be for nothing. Citizens are also supposed to respect the views and ideas of other citizens. Even though not everyone shares the same views on religion, politics, and lifestyle, the key to a successful, functional country is the support of all citizens, of every background.
Each and every US citizen has the rights to be respected and the responsibilities to respect. Rights can be defined as what the citizens deserve or what the citizens are entitled to have. On the other side, the responsibilities can be considered as what the citizens owe or what the citizens must accomplish. Some of the rights of the Americans include, right to run for elected office, freedom of worship, and freedom of expression. On the other hand, some of the responsibilities of the US citizens include, supporting and defending the constitution, respecting and obeying the federal, state, and local laws and paying the income and other taxes honestly, and on time, to federal, state, and local authorities (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, n.d.).
Whether you should take part in politics and vote in the elections of public officials or rather let God take control is a hotly debated question between Christian Americans. The question was first brought about after the Revolutionary war when the United States was able to win its independence from its mother county Britain which meant that the citizens of the United States would now have to elect their own leaders and be involved in politics since they no longer had a king. From then on there then arose an argument in the Christian fraction of the American population, with a greater amount believing that it was the right thing to do to vote and take part in politics while a smaller group believing they should take part in neither since God was already in control or had everything planned out in their lives depending on what they believe.
Citizenship and residency here in the U.S. comes with many rights, but these rights come hand-in-hand with many responsibilities as well. The things that we as Americans have the privilege of being able to do come at the cost of having these responsibilities and as citizens, and even residents, we must do our part to be able to continue to have these rights. As citizens of this country we share many rights that people in other countries may not necessarily have the right to do. The greatest rights we citizens share are the rights to chose how we live our lives, to speak our minds and hold our own opinions, the right to practice our own religion without fear of persecution, the right to be proven innocent or guilty of a crime we have been accused of committing in front of an unbiased panel of fellow citizens, and most importantly we have the right to vote for public officials and run for these offices ourselves. These rights we share as citizens set this country above many others as there are numerous countries around the world that do not give their citizens the rights that we have here. However, with the long list of rights we share in this country comes a list of responsibilities as members of this nation just as long. Everything comes at a price and things can be taken away just as easily as they were given. The rights we as U.S. citizens share are no different. As citizens here in this country, it is our responsibility to uphold this country’s ideals such as the belief
