My Responsibility In America

I feel that one of the most important responsibilities we have, as American citizens, to America is the obligation to look out for future generations of Americans. We always hear that young people are the future so we must do everything in our power to show them how to be proud Americans and take care of the land we live on. A couple of ways that we can help protect our land are participating in recycling programs and supporting organizations and industries that are “green”. In addition to taking care of the land, it is also important that we take care of and provide support for those in need in our country. As a citizen, I feel that my responsibility to America is to carry out all obligations to my government and to live in union with one another pledged to our nation by our three given values: freedom, liberty, and equality. Fortunately, our county does every possible thing they can to make sure that it’s people are protected. Because we are protected entirely, we must make it essential to implement any requirement of the government, such as paying taxes, respect and obey all laws, and serving in the army. I think that my responsibility to my country is to give back. The United States of America is my home; it’s where I took my first steps, where I was taught to grow, to be kind. I believe that it’s my duty to give back to my community, my state, my whole life, by becoming a good person. When I say “good person” I don’t mean just saying nice things to people. I mean actually standing up and making a positive difference in my community’s lives, including mine.

Responsibility, the definition of responsibility is the state of being responsible, answerable, or accountable for something within one’s power, control, or management. We all have a individual responsibility to the country that we live in. From the day that we were born to the day we die, as American citizens we owe it to the people who fought and gave their lives for this country to fulfill our responsibility to this great country of ours. From the birthday of our country on July 4, 1776 to present day there have been men and women of all races, backgrounds and ethnicity whom have worked to make this country great. We can fulfill this obligation through service to our communities, setting high personal goals

It is my responsibility to stay informed of the issues affecting my government. As a resident, I have to obey federal, state, and local laws. I need to respect the ideas of others and their beliefs. Its my duty to give up my time and volunteer in my community. It is also my role to support and defend the constitution.

In our society nowadays, many people take our freedoms for granted. We live our lives as if we had it hard. They complain about all their work, high taxes, bills, corrupt government, and just how terrible people treat one another. Most American citizens believe we should be further ahead and better if you will. “How could we have gotten to this point?” many people ask. What these people don’t realize is how many have sacrificed themselves to help us to get here and make us a better country.

As an American there is one responsibility which falls onto the citizens shoulders and that goal can only be achieved through enough members of the country working together. The responsibility for Americans is for the people to work together to preserve and continue to build on the greatness of this country. The work is great, the laborers few, but the time is great and it is my responsibility as an American to help this goal succeed and become a strongly seen reality. The responsibilities that citizens including myself have are expected to be met when possible. These responsibilities include voting, protesting against what is immoral and wrong, and leaving the country better than what we inherited it as, even though these are done piece by piece.

Being an American means being free and all are created equal. Many dream to have the freedom of an American, while Americans take the freedom for granted. As an American we all have many responsibilities for our country that lies in our hands to ensure that our country functions properly.

What does being a U.S citizen mean to you? Several describe being a U.S citizen as having the right to “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness”, as stated in the Declaration of Independence. Few may say that being a U.S citizen is a pure pleasure of being a part of a democracy, where the supreme authority rest with the people. Yet others may state their right to vote and run for office or their freedom of religion and speech. Although all of these are correct, being a U.S citizen is more than just having rights and freedoms. As American citizens, we also have obligations, responsibilities, and duties we should fulfill. One of these responsibilities is to defend and support the Constitution. However, in order for us to support the Constitution,

My responsibility as an American is to improve our country by taking advantage of the opportunities given and utilize them to better our country for the generations to come. Everyone is given a chance to fulfill a purpose on Earth with the end result to hopefully leave it better than you found it. I believe as Americans we should not stop at just improving our nation, but go beyond the bar to help countries in poverty. Many forget what a huge privilege it is to be an American. Take advantage of where you come from and do something to honor America.

Some individuals tend to dread the words “responsibility” and “commitment” in typical matters of life; however, when involved with their rights and their country, many exhibit a deep sense of patriotism. Responsibility and commitment carry a weight that many are unwilling to bear. However, many perceive that the patriotic responsibilities that protect and encourage our freedoms are worth defending. You observe this in those who willingly risk their lives, in those who use their careers for the betterment of others, in those who profess their beliefs despite opposing voices, and in those who uphold and obey the law. The first of these responsibilities is speaking out for our country. This is important since it can change how other people view the United States. First, acknowledge other country’s views, and allow them to help us. As a result of different cultures other countries will have different views on America, and not all of those opinions

Many things come to mind when you hear the word “Responsibility” but what about when you hear “ What’s your responsibility to America?” To many, that could be a different story. For myself, I think everyone is responsible to do their share to make our country a wonderful place to live. It is my responsibility to get a good education, participate in government, have a good job, and to give back to my community.

The adrenaline filled my whole body. It was amazing, so many things I had heard about and anticipated all before me. This past year my class took a trip to Washington D.C. I recall the amazing stature and splendor of the Washington Monument. I remember standing in the Lincoln Memorial and reading all the scriptures of the Bible that were written in his monument. The Vietnam Memorial filled me with both sorrow and respect for all the 58,000 who died serving in the war. I took as many pictures as I could at the Iwo Jima Memorial. I felt a connection to Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, as I stood at his memorial stunned by his wise words. My favorite of his quotes,” The Ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, But where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”
