My learning style is a pragmatist since I like to get feedback from others about my work, I like to experiment and try things out and I would rather get on with tasks rather than talk about. The good learning situations from being a pragmatist is I have a clear link between thinking and what has to be done, when there are opportunities I always try to try them out, and I am happy to copy from role models since it benefits me as I gain more knowledge as to what I need to do. The bad learning situations I get from this is a m unable to identify the relevance of what sometimes needs to be done in a task and I do not like not having guidance on how to do things as I get stuck very easily.
“Just as students have different personalities, they also have different ways of learing (Slavin, 107).” Learning styles are another important factor to incorporate when implementing the best learning environment. Learning styles are defined as an individual's mode of gaining knowledge. The most common learning styles addressed are auditory, visual, and kinesthetic. Kinesthetic learners learn better by using manipulatives or by being physically involved in the learning process. Learning styles is a piece of the “backbone” of differentiated learning. Both are used to individualize instruction to help students achieve the most success.

I have always believed that we learn by our own experiences. I think that this belief that I have lived by is why I was so intrigued by this particular learning theory. I used two different websites answering numerous questions, which gave me some results showing which learning style I preferred. For the most part I agreed with the outcome, but found some interesting, and contradicting information.
Learning methodology is not one-sided or linear, and some people prefer to work, and indeed work more efficiently, when they have the ability to do certain things, like talk with others or sit alone, do a re-enactment or make notes. Knowing your own preferred learning style and understanding others allows you to be more sympathetic to other people’s ways of learning and work out the best way for you to get your own work done. This document has the aim of investigating different learning styles to achieve this aim and others.
