Ever since I was a little boy, pizza has always had a special place in my heart. From pizza day in the school cafeteria to pizza parties at sleep away camp, there was nothing more exciting than when that cardboard box was opened to reveal a round pie with eight delicious slices waiting to be devoured.
Early on I learned that everybody eats their pizza differently. There are those who fold their slices in half, those who eat their slices with two hands, and those who (dare I say) like to cut their pizza with a fork and knife. Some people soak up the olive oil with a napkin, while others don't mind a greasy slice. Some people like the crust, while others live for that first bite. There is no better place to digest Grimaldi's than on the Brooklyn Heights Promenade overlooking lower Manhattan. It's the only place in the city that I can be assured to find at least one bride and groom snapping photos every time I'm there. Propaganda played a key part in every nation 's war effort; though, none were as efficacious as Nazi Germany. I am feeling repentant about dining at Chili’s, last week, due to the terrible experience that I had. The semblance of the restaurant from the outside, made it seem like a nice place to dine in, but when I stepped into the place, it had a very unkempt appearance. The argument that pizza is an “indulgence” food is rendered questionable by the sheer number of consumers who eat pizza each year. With 77% of consumers eating pizza at least once a month the dish may be better described as a “convenience” food, particularly considering the ease associated with ordering a pizza as opposed to cooking every night. The concept of an refrigerated pizza that consumers can just stick in the microwave increases this sense of simplicity, and the steady growth of the refrigerated pizza industry speaks to the motivation being one of convenience rather than enjoying a special treat. As long as it tastes good (something TruEarth has experience in accomplishing), and as long as “low carb” can be stamped across the packaging, there is a high likelihood that a new, healthy, quality-ingredient, whole-grain refrigerated pizza option will do well, even without the luxury of entering a growing market, as was the case with TruEarth’s fresh pastas. Lastly, TruEarth is enhancing the refrigerated-pizza offering by developing a “refrigerated pizza kit” that maintains the sentimental value of a true cooking experience.
This artifact consisted of creating a hand-drawn Spanish-language restaurant menu with detailed descriptions of the items and a colorful image. Before working on it, we had to learn broad vocabulary related to food and drink, kitchens, and restaurants, and different verbs, adjectives, and expressions we could use to describe them. I think Ms. Aguirre wanted us to understand restaurant menus in foreign language, and Spanish would be a great start. The essential question of this artifact was, “How can my Spanish-speaking skills help me understand a menu and order food at a restaurant?” After I spent about a month learning the large vocabulary related to this artifact, I began brainstorming my menu by myself.

This paper will examine the legal status of the so-called Islamic State with the aim of determining whether it is recognised as having international legal personality. Focus will also be placed on the principles of international legal personality more broadly by providing a critique on the effectiveness of these concepts in international law. Firstly a brief overview of the Islamic State will be given outlining their stated goals and information important to supporting a claim of international legal personality. Secondly we will look at the classes of established legal persons before going into each in more detail. A major consideration of this research is whether the Islamic State could be recognised as a State in international law. In answering this question the traditional criteria for statehood set out in Article I of the Montevideo Convention on Rights and Duties of States 1933 (hereinafter Montevideo Convention) will be examined along with the relevant authorities and recent developments in regards to the criteria for statehood. Secondly the consequences of where the Islamic State fits within the international legal framework will be discussed. Finally the essay will look at the effectiveness of the concept of legal personality in international law particularly in the context of the conclusion reached in relation to the Islamic State.
