My Family Trip To Florida

During the summer of 2012, I was going on vacation to Clearwater, Florida, where we would hang out at the beach; go on mini trips during the main trip, while staying at the Magnuson Hotel for a week.

When my family and I was getting ready to go on a trip to Florida, my parents knew there was going to be some obstacles to before we got to Florida. First, where would we stay at, and how long would we be there for? We also were wondering on if we were going to drive, or fly on an airplane to our destination. My dad always wanted to go to Pensacola because of the calm beaches and places that he liked. My mom insisted that we should go to Daytona beach do to the best places to stay, and relaxing areas to be at.

A vacation that i took with my family and friends. We took a vacation to Panama City Beach, FL and that was my first time going to a beach swimming in the ocean but when got there and we ate and cross the road and there was a big pizza delivery truck. We when into the hotel and unload everything we had and we was staying on floor 18 so i was kinda scared of heights. The view from the 18 floor was amazing and the water and i seen some stingrays along the sandy beach and i was scared to swim in the ocean now but i did. When all of us ate lunch i went to the first floor and out the back door and straight into the sand but it was hot so i ran into the cool cold sea water. My cousin and me, we tried swim pretty far out but we was getting so tired of the waves pussing us back and back so we let the water take us back to shore and while we going back i stuck my head under water and i seen a little fish and i tried to grab it but the water was pushing me.

Have you ever wondered what Myrtle Beach has to offer for its tourists? Well I'm about to tell you. Every year I go on vacation to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for a week. We usually leave a few days after Christmas and come back a few days after New Years. I go with my grandma, grandpa, aunt, uncle, and some of my cousins. We have been going on this vacation for about six years, but at first it only started out as us going down for the weekend. The first two years we went to Myrtle Beach it was just me and my grandma and grandpa, but after that year some more of my family started to come down with us.

“Be sure to get a blanket,” the tour guide had said. Though it was around 95 degrees outside and there was not a cloud in the sky, I had doubted her. This trip to Florida had been a total flop so far, and I was already disappointed we had climbed aboard the shoddy Wildlife Tour speedboat instead of spending our day in the aquarium like I had been promised. There was virtually no wildlife to be found, and now I was freezing cold from the ocean breeze and high speed winds being forced upon me from the speed the boat was going. Obviously, this was a children’s tour because the only people on the boat besides the “captain” (as he called himself), the tour guide, and my grandmother and more, were young families with children that were between the

Have you ever been on a vacation? To me a vacation is a time to be with friends or family. When I think of vacations, I think of packing, the flight or drive, and relaxation. Not only is it very exciting to go on a vacation, but you get closer to the people that go with you.

My first trip to Disney World, now that, that was a memorable trip. That trip was one of the most magical and happiest memories of my life. It was back in 2008, I had just turned 6 years old a few months before we left to go there. It was summertime, and the weather was perfect. I remember being so bored on the way there because I am an only child so I didn’t have anyone to entertain me besides myself. My mom’s side of the family went on this trip with us, and at the time I was the only grandkid, and the only kid at all. So once we finally were almost there I remember passing the big ‘Welcome to Disney World” sign and being so excited I peed my pants--my mom was pretty mad, but my dad thought it was kinda funny so I didn’t get in too much trouble.

It was just another day in paradise… the day I almost died. Okay I need to back up a little bit. I was on vacation in Florida. My parents, siblings, and grandparents were all there also. This quote comes to mind when I tell this story, “in the blink of an eye everything can change. So forgive often and love with all your heart. You never know when you may not have that chance again.”

As a child, I believed that I was invincible. Nothing stood in my way and if it did, I just tore the obstacle down from the source. Whether it was trees to climb, pools to jump in, or wild hair getting in my way; I always overcame them. There was point in my childhood though, I realized not everything was under my control and power. I didn’t receive everything I desired like I was believing. My childhood untainted mind was rocked with a new discovery and mindset. Of all places for this change to happen, it was on a family vacation to Disney World.

Before spring break had started I took a vacation to florida. Me, my sister, my baby sister, my grandma, my mom, and my mom’s boyfriend all flew to florida, it took us three hours to get there. When we had finally arrived I was ecstatic, even though I had been to florida two times when I was younger, it was even better this time.

In the summer of 2014, Kennedy’s sister, Quinn Mathews, was graduating high school. The parents decided to take Quinn on the college visit to Rice University, in Houston, Texas. All the kids tagged along for a family vacation. The vacation lasted a week in the month of July.

There are certain memories that we have that we can remember like they happened yesterday. Many of those memories that have special meaning to me were of family vacations when I was young growing up with my brothers and sisters. Family memories are important to many of us because they take us back to a time or place that was special. One particular family vacation I remember vividly, and it’s a story I have shared with my kids on many occasions. Over the 40 or more years since that memorable vacation, I still smile and think how lucky I was growing up with a mother and father that did everything to give their kids an unforgettable memory.
