SeaWorld trip
During the summer of 2012, I was going on vacation to Clearwater, Florida, where we would hang out at the beach; go on mini trips during the main trip, while staying at the Magnuson Hotel for a week.
“WAKE UP!” My brother yelled throughout the house. “TIME TO GO!” It was about 3:00 in the morning; the time I did not want to get up. My mom never told me what time we were going to wake up. Me, my two other brothers, and my mother were all going on this trip. Everyone was excited for the trip, but so exhausted and my brother had to drive from Georgia to Florida, which to where we want to go, took eight hours.
We took a few minutes to get everything packed up into the car, and then we were on the road. We were all sleeping except

It was a water/boat ride, but still chain controlled. At the end you go down a very steep downhill and finish. There was no seatbelt, but there was a bar that went over your legs. I did not feel like it was very safe and only did it once. That was basically it for me because I couldn’t ride any other rides, except for the kiddie rides, which I was not going to ride. Then I went with my mother to go shopping with her, while my brothers were riding the bigger rides I couldn’t. we went to all the stores with here. Picking out little keychains, hats, bracelets, etc. my mom bought me a snow globe and a statue of a sting-ray (which I still have today) which was very cool to have. It always reminds me of the first time I ever went to SeaWorld.
After we went to all the stores, we got something to eat. They had a little shark restaurant, where they had sharks swimming around in big tanks next to us while we ate. I thought it was really cool to watch as you ate. The food there was not the best selection, but I still ate what was there. After we were done eating, we went out to go to the main events. There were 5 or 6 of them that went to that were really cool. It was really cool to see, they had little “adventures” that they went on, on stage, which were cool. The had sound effects, props galore and the acting was really
The first day we got there we just hanged out at the hotel all day. It was 78 degrees Fahrenheit and sunny. It was 8AM in the morning when I saw the pool. Now at first I was very disappointed that it was shutdown because they needed to put chemicals in it. At 11 it finally opened up and I was WOWED. The Pool was amazing. It was sparkling Blue and the water was as clear as glass. That's why we stayed in it all day. The second day we went to Sea World. We hadn't been to Sea World yet until that day where we learned why it's one of the best Disney parks. We entered at the gate where we saw the ride of a lifetime The Manta. The Manta is a ride that makes you go backwards on almost the whole ride. It is the scariest ride I have ever seen. None of my family did that for just that reason. First we went to the Dolphin show which was really cool. It was so cool because the actors and actresses would jump into the water and the Dolphins would come out and do tricks on them like skiing on top of them, and making them wave to the crowd. Then we to another show which is called Shamu. Shamu is a show about Wales that do all these tricks like splash us. I forgot to tell you but Garrett, Chloe, and I were all sitting in the splash zone and we were watching the Wales do all these tricks when the Disney people told us to get ready and Garrett and I didn't have enough time to react and two seconds later all of a sudden we got tsunamified, so soaked that there wasn't a single dry spot on my shirt. After that Chloe started crying and I had to bring her up to mom and dad who were in the last row of the stadium. Chloe was not happy for that part of the trip at Sea World. After both those shows it started raining so we finished up are day at going in a virtual helicopter and seeing all the Penguins and the Arctic Animals which was pretty cool. As soon as we got in the pilot we cranked that baby up until the heat felt like Florida instead of Maine. Speaking of Maine
We were pulling up at the parking lot of Knott's soak city it was so full. I was so exited. First we had to get our tickets. Second we had to find some chairs. Then we went to a pool called The wave cove. And every 5 minutes waves would hit. It was so fun to swim over them. After that we went to a big water slide that was 50 feet tall. My little cousin went on one that was 4 feet tall. Then we ate pizza and salad. Then we went to the Lazy river that took you around Knott's soak city.
The second day we went to Hayward Wisconsin and there were shops. Megan and I got matching bright tye dye shirts that we wear like every day now so they get good use. We went pokemon hunting and caught a lot of pokeballs around us. Also at one store Megan decided to buy a ball the “bounce on water” which megan spent ten dollars on just a normal ball.
Last summer me and my family went to valleyfair. We got up really early because we had to drive to shakopee. It was a long drive and i fell asleep in the car. I hate long cars rides because they are always so boring, anyways when we got there we had to go through security and then go and get our tickets and wristbands. When we got in there we went on some rides and got food. All i ate that day was panda express. And i went on the wild thing and steel venom.
It took almost two hours to get to Orlando from Tampa. As the van rolled along the hills, rocking and swaying back and forth, I was elated with thoughts of all the things we would do. I remember jumping around in the back seat with joy as we started to see signs for the park. When we arrived at the park, pure bliss and amazement showed on our faces. We took a ferry boat from the parking lot to the entrance of the park. Once inside the park, we headed for the rides. Some of my favorite rides were The Haunted Mansion, Thunder Mountain, and Splash Mountain. My sibling and I were very thrilled and cheerful. Next, we visited Magic Kingdom to watch a parade of all the Disney characters. We were elated to find out we would get to take pictures with Goofy, Mickey Mouse, and Donald the Duck. My parents purchased chicken tender meals. Also, we ate snacks such as elephant ears and cotton candy. Grandma had given us money to buy extra junk that my parents would not buy. As the day began to end, we started to get tired. Lastly we watched the fireworks and took last minute photos before heading to the car. I was very sad it was time to go home the next
When i went Destin, Florida. I went to Florida this summer after school was out . We went with my sisters best friend, and my best friend’s family. We drove from Arkansas all the way to Destin, Florida. The day we got there we went straight to the beach! It was the first time I had ever seen the ocean! The following day we decided to go down to the smoothie shack and get a smoothie then swim in the pool. The grown ups went to the beach while we were at the pool.
My parents got me games that came with it so I played them. After we opened, we went to Six flags and my mom said I could bring them if I wanted to so I did.I brought my friend name David and trey we had so much fun but the only thing we didn't like was it was really cold.We ride every ride that we could because we still had to go and watch the new movie
My best moment was when i went to the Florida Keys over Christmas break in 2015. It was a two week trip just on our way to the Keys. On our way we stopped at the Creation Museum down in Kentucky and we stayed at my grandpa’s house in Maranatha Village down in Sebring Florida. When we finally got down to the Keys i couldn’t believe how beautiful it was. The water was that beautiful blue color and there was nothing but colorful coral and crystal blue water everywhere. When we got to where we were staying it was packed. There were more campers than we could count. The campground was on it’s own little island on the highway. My dad used to work there while my grandpa sang for an audience in the outdoor bar by the pool and hot tub. When i went to
So my first two weeks at Florida Southern have been exhausting to say the least. One does not really know how flipped their sleep schedule is until they have to wake up early to drive to 8 am classes every other day. The bright side to these days, however, is that I end up making it home by about 11:00 am, where, beforehand, I might have even woken up at this time. I honestly don’t know what I expected from college, but I knew that the college that I planned on attending had a very beautiful campus. Living in the area, you always hear people talking about how world class architecture is located within the city. Florida Southern, along with Publix, and the location between Orlando and Tampa were the reasons everybody talked about
A few days in the marina, savoring the last little bits of our time in Florida, ended abruptly with an early morning trip to the airport in the dark. With spring break coming up and missing grandbabies, not to mention kids, we planned to fly back up north for a visit. We had to wear long pants and carry coats because we knew it’d be cold in Maryland. Ohhh…the horror of it.
Minutes to get there, and the whole 30 minutes was boring. I was ready to sleep; I was also super hungry, I was so excited I was about to burst. I had a fear about a few rides, but i didn’t let it overcome me.
Three of us. We were the only ones left, the only ones to make it to the island.
From childhood to now, going to Florida has played an important part in my relationships, culture, and personality. I think that the trips to Florida started when my little brother was born. Having to take care of two toddlers and an infant and work full time was hard on my parents so, my aunt offered to take me and my sister home with her for a while. Being in Florida was slightly unnerving because my sister and I were alone. We sneaked into each other's beds, comforted one another, and told lame jokes to get rid of homesickness. Eventually, when my little brother was old enough and he joined in on the fun. The three of us had the best times in Florida. We ate foods like Haitian pate, diri ak djon djon, pikliz, fried plantains and other Haitian
This all started with my parent’s brilliant idea to take me to Disney World. As any 8-year-old would have reacted to such amazing news, I completely lost it. To my memory, I think I might have just turned the house upside down, literally making the clean family room into a war zone. And of course, I had to brag to all my friends at school of this amazing trip I had the opportunity to go on. I was so ecstatic that every night I crossed off the days left until the trip. After what had felt like an eternity, we headed to the airport to fly to Orlando.
My favorite vacation, so far, is one I went on in September 2015 with my friends Alissa and Jaidah. We all share fandom interests. On the weekend of September 19, my brother went away to spend his birthday with my dad. My mom shook me awake and informed me I could bring two friends along to a room in the Dells that we would be occupying. Almost immediately I thought of the duo. I ran downstairs and texted both of them while packing a bag. They texted back not too long after, and I told them my mom and I would pick them up anywhere from 10-11 that Saturday morning. We picked up Alissa and she tried to direct us to Jaidah’s house, but she wasn’t thorough with her
