“Tell me and I may forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.” Learning takes place in many aspects, but for me I learned so much by my experiences. From my first job all the way to my current job. My experiences make me who I am today; After high school I went to college and graduated with an associates degree in legal studies this is I learned from my law teacher Ms. Campbell that " you won 't know the law by memorization but by Application" and that stuck with me all these years and I apply that fundamental principle to life.
My Job at J.C.Penny was one of the first learning experiences that I had in the workforce. I learned so much allow me to explain. I started as a sales support associate and as a sales support associate I was in charge of offering items to clients and giving those clients any help as required amid the sales procedure. Also, to create and keep up positive client connections to guarantee clients retention. As a Sales supports associate I was required to met organizational objectives, (for example, those identified with deals) and work inside organization rules and directions at all times. This was just the tip of the iceberg for my customer experience exposure. Then after four months I got promoted to sales associate/ cashier. My job duties were to Guarantee that every Client gets extraordinary Client benefit by giving a Client well-disposed environment, including welcoming and recognizing each Client, keeping up exceptional
It was only a seasonal job, so they weren't too picky with their hiring and within a month I was hired and put to training. Training was fun, it was I working like everybody but somewhat supervised. After the training I'll be honest, I hated working there. I couldn't stand having to put clothes away for four hours and barely being able to talk to anybody besides a passerby customer who would politely brush me off every time I asked the required, "Do you need any help with anything? No? Okay, let me know!" It got old real quick. I missed the constant interaction I got with the kids I used to
Druring the summer of 2013 I worked at U-haul. During my time there I learned many skills which are transferable between jobs. One such skill is the ability to help customers effectivly so they leave with a good impresion of the company. While customers might have not gotten what they neded due to all the moving vans being reserved I was frequently able to find an altenate solution that benifited the customer so they left with satisfaction. Working at U-haul also bolsterd my ability to effectively multitask in an fast paced and demanding setting.
Her first job was a retail floor manager with Macy’s. At one time, she was a flight attendant for Pan American Airways; which was one of her favorite past employment experiences. After Pan America, she transitioned into sales positions for some big corporations, both inside and outside of sales positions. Out of all her jobs, she said that the jobs that dealt with customer relations gave her the best experience and prepared her properly for her current position.
My last position as a Reimbursement Assistant afforded the opportunity to thoroughly develop my customer service skills. The primary duty was to contact insurance companies for claim inquiries. I knew to remain calm and courteous when I spoke to customer service representatives from insurance companies because it often resulted in receiving more than enough information for claim inquiries. Sometimes, customer service representatives would tell me that they spoke to my supervisor and made sure to tell her how kind and professional I was on any given call.
As soon as I graduated from college I became a pharmacy technician at Walgreens. There I worked for two years. I acquired experience that no other institution can provide nor teach me. I learned not only about my interpersonal workings and more so about who I am when I am outside of my comfort zone. Having that job expanded my communication skills to a point where I can adapt to any environment or group of people and still be who I am. Customers became an importance to my life. I was able to related to them a personal level and a healthcare provider. Many patients had family members came to the pharmacy who had cancer. Having to be able to relate to their situations helped them to get through the hardships and giving them comfort
I managed to balance two jobs while focusing on my studies and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing. After my internship at PetSmart, I was promoted to be the sales department specialist in the Shoes department at Nordstrom Rack in Brea. I was responsible for training and coaching my team on how to provide outstanding customer service. I lead by example in handling and resolving customer issues on a daily basis. I always find the best solution for the customer and follow up with them to ensure they are satisfied. I was the liaison between management and the employees. I compiled monthly report on the department results, goals, and opportunities in order to communicate it to the
I enjoyed that job so much, because every day was exciting and different. It was so neat to me to meet people for short periods of time. They would come into my line and I would give them the best, fast, and efficient service as possible.
With the implementation of minimum wage and rising production costs in the United States, many companies have found themselves looking for a way to save money on production. Clothing manufacturers such as Nike have used labor forces in other countries, mainly in Asia to produce their products. These countries can offer similar quality labor for a cheaper cost on wages. The lower or non existent minimum wage laws in foreign countries allow companies like Nike to cut production costs drastically, while still being able to produce quality products. Similar trends are starting to creep into software companies. They are finding a workforce able to do similar work as the American workers, but for less pay.
the end of the week some of them could to these tasks. I also helped
My family, culture, educational, professional experiences have all been positive. The different teachers that I have had; guided me into considering the teaching career for many reasons. First, my family has guided me, my mom and dad have always found the right schools for me. They have pushed me to do hard things that make me scared. They have had faith in the school’s that I chose were the right choices, and they will grow on me. My cultural experience is also a factor of why I want to be a teacher. My schools have been centered on helping students who have learning differences, so I have always been open about having a learning difference to other people. My educational experience has been amazing. It has been positive for me because the schools I have gone to were safe places that I could be myself. The teachers at my schools made a significant impact on me starting at a young age. The professional experience has been limited but beneficial. I worked at Stratford Friends School; I learned it is so much fun to work with children who were just like me. I love the children and school. I get excited about going back to school shopping. I love to dance in the isles, and I love to look at all the beautiful school supplies.
Job satisfaction is the very important factor in general quality of life because it is closely connected with working life (e.g. Argyle, 1989; Bang & Lee, 2006), with family life, everyday life, and mental health (Orpen, 1978; Schmitt and Bedeian, 1982; Faragher, Cass & Cooper, 2005). Level of job satisfaction is also highly related to turnover, absenteeism rate, work productivity or accomplishment (Muchinsky, 1977; Organ, 1977). Many researchers (e.g. Cherrington, 1994; Acorn, Ratner & Crawford, 1997; Ostroff, 1992; Spector, 1997) state that employees who experience high job satisfaction contribute to organisational commitment, job involvement, their physical, mental health and overall well-being are improved. Job dissatisfaction on the
When I think of the word interview I think of it as a series of questions asked from one person to another to seek information. In my previous assessment we were asked to interview a fellow peer, on their personal experience of QIBT so far this year. We were not given any question, but made to think of our own. As we were interviewing our peer another peer was marking us on our overall ability to interview. This piece of reflective writing will be an explanation of what I thought my personal strengths and weaknesses were throughout my interview.
Throughout my educational experience, I have endured countless hardships that made progress difficult at times. Although it was a struggle through my strong dedication to education, I have also earned a list of achievements for my hard work. These experiences from, failing two of my English classes, to excelling tremendously in mathematics, have molded me into the type of student I am today. I am a student with a growth mindset and, an optimistic outlook on education and, the bright future ahead. I now understand the impact that a positive mindset can have on your future. I am definitely proud of the student I have become. I feel like my journey is unique, but is also very relatable.
As time went on, things slowly started to get better. With my improved work habits, I slowly began to catch up on school. Also, I began to know my coworkers better, and I get to spend more time with my friend there. Moreover, after knowing how the store functions and learning all the menu items, the work became easier as well. I started to really enjoy this job despite getting some wrist injuries from scooping ice cream.
My life has been a crazy roller coaster with many events that have affected my life all in different ways. There have been times where my life has been at its highest peak in the world then it falls down, right into a deep valley. From the time my lovable younger sister came into my life to when my grandpa had a near death experience, I have learned many valuable lessons through the rough times as well as the more happy times. When I was a young girl, my mom had always told me the same thing over and over again. I never really thought about how a few words would have a deep effect on me in a short amount of time.
