It had been 3 weeks since I return to the archery field. The early morning runs and practices do make me feel great. It has always been my dream to become an archer like my father. I was the toughest archer in Clementi Town Secondary School. It was not much of a challenge, competing with the neighbourhood school. There were only a few people who I acknowledge their skills.
As I am walked toward the archery clubroom, I could hear Jin Mei and Yi Wei’s voices. As usual, they always quarrel over something.
“How can Fahan even miss those shots?” Yi Wei said.
“It was only 22m.”
“Anyone will miss those shots!” Jin Mei replied.
“Besides, it was his first official competition.”
“Come on, his father is our coach who won several international competition.” Yi

“Yes, Fahan!” They replied.
All of them have been positive toward those training I planned. There was some improvement in their archery skill. They really remind me of the forgotten love I once had for archery when I first joined. The curiosity on doing tricks shots. The excitement that hopes arrows to hit bull’s eyes. The junior always carry a learning heart, treating one another with respect. It is satisfied to see them grow in each training and I am proud of them. Maybe that is how my father felt for me too.

After finishing the training session with the junior, I went back to the clubroom for debriefing. Everyone is sitting in the clubroom in the circle, waiting for the coach. This time, they are gossip about the upcoming competition, who will be the one representing.
“Sorry to keep you guys waiting.” Coach said.
“So, who wants to start the report first?”
Yi Wei stands up. He said “Coach before we start with the reports. I volunteered to go for the upcoming competition. Let me bring back the glory and trophy. I will not disappoint you and those who pinned hope on
This world-renowned tournament, in which thousands of archers participate, not only qualifies archers for the United States Olympic team, but it also ranks archers worldwide. Though an observer might think that these qualifications put significant stress on the archers, the atmosphere has a relaxed feel as archers joke around and congratulate on another.
One Saturday morning, 18 year old's Dalton and Jersey Ashtin were getting ready for their big soccer tournament this weekend for their school this weekend, Lee’s Summit High School. It was the Sporting LS soccer cup. When Dalton and Jersey were getting dressed their mother called “You ready?”
I feel like I was able to help my student in the areas he needed the support. I was beyond proud of the progress he made starting from a level 19 and ending at a level 28. Even then knowing he had the potential to go higher was a great feeling. Improving on his comprehension and spelling was a goal we had set and knowing I was able to help him and see the progress during each session was very rewarding.
The urge to shoot the bow immediately is bursting at the seams, unfathomably tempting. Competing thoughts skitter through my brain, unrelenting and refusing to let go. My heart skips a beat with the bow in my cold calloused hands. Too many unknowns in this new, cruel world add a different degree of difficulty to this decision.
After we are divided into teams, and everyone assembles at their stations, the fun can begin. Bow comes first, where stillness and accuracy is everything. As I begin, I hear the snap of the arrow being notched onto the string and feel the muscles across my upper back ripple as I draw. Standing there, I hear complete silence as I focus on seeing the small yellow circle of the bull’s eye. The wind blows, and I feel myself sway in the mercy of the wind. My muscles begin to tremble, signaling me to release. I slowly squeeze the trigger, and before I can blink, I hear the thump of the arrow hit the target.

The boy named Thrasher comes up the stage silently. Observing him, he looks to be 16 or 17 and has a muscular build. “Congrats to the winners joining us for the games.” Melo Wane added. Thrasher and I leave the stage going into a train.
Finally, the tryout process was done. Waiting anxiously for the team results, I ate my lunch and talk with the other girls trying out. Jo had introduced me to the other
In the fall of 2012, I had just completed a six hour hunters education course and my father finally deemed me ready to hunt. Hunting is a tradition that has been in my family for generations. My grandpa taught my father how to hunt, and finally it was time for my father to teach me. “Once a Gerace gets his first kill, he earns the responsibilities of being a man,” That is what my Grandfather told my father many years ago, and now my father told me. Later that week, we found out that we were drawn for javelina hunting, although the hunt was not until February. For the next four months I spent every weekend at the shooting range, the determination I had for getting my first javelina was unmatched. I never wanted anything more in my life.
The coach is still there, so we get to meet him and he congratulates me on winning the tickets. He explained that the tickets will let me lead the team out of the tunnel at the beginning of the game and I will get to meet all of the players on the team.
Two new deer hunters decided to separate to increases their chances. “What if we get lost?” says one of them. “Fire three shots up in the air, every hour on the hour” says the other. “I saw it on TV.” Sure enough, one of the hunters gets lost, so he fires three shots up into the air every hour on the hour. The next day the other hunter finds his friend with the help of the Forest Ranger. “Did you do what I said?” asked the hunter. “Yes, I fired three shots up into the air every hour on the hour, until I ran out of arrows.” Bow hunting has been around for many years. Bows have evolved over the years, so much that it is easier to bow hunt now than it was years ago. Everyone should try bow hunting at least once in their lifetime. Bow hunting can be a challenging sport, an exciting sport, and a relaxing sport.
The bow and arrow plays a large role in a hunter’s society. Over the years, the advancement of the compound bow has changed the way people hunt. Many people don’t realize that we have our bowhunting pioneers to thank. If it wasn’t for them, Archery wouldn’t exist and we wouldn’t have the opportunity to make advancements to the sport! Traditional bowhunting consisted of using a stick bow, set of arrows, quiver, finger tab, and arm protector. Fred Bear was a bowhunting pioneer and is known as “The Father of Bowhunting” by many. He is the inventor of Bear Archery and one of the reasons bowhunting exists today! Many people in our modern world take things for granted. It is for this reason we should consider
It was time to go out to our exchange zones and set up our marks. My team said their last good lucks to each other and we departed to our zones. I could smell the fresh air and see the red track. As all the participants and I walked around the track, my stomach quickly refilled with butterflies. Finally, we had reached the third exchange zone where I set up my marks in lane eight. Then I did a few practice take offs and pretend handoffs. I looked over behind me to see a familiar face, Coach
As the bus rolled along on its final return route, I observed the players doing as they normally do – homework with book lights, texting to multiple parties at the same time, sleep gained, and loud, giggling episodes. Though each of the girls wears the same team jersey, each one of them is as different as can be. These differences are easily recognized, yet they somehow form glue that is impenetrable. For the three seniors this “family” will never be forgotten. Maybe those are the words that should be
A recent survey from ATA (Archery Trade Association) showed that over 5.17 million Americans, age 18 and older, participated in bow hunting in 2015. Since this survey only included bow hunters 18 years and older, this number would be significantly higher if you included the young adults who bow hunt. Also, with all the young adults that bow hunt, they might not have the best accuracy or experience compared to a bow hunter with more than a decade of bow hunting under their belt. Most of our research has revolved around the percentage of
