The whole movie is set in her point of view and is narrated by her as well. This movie is about her life and how she grows as a person. She is a strong character that helps bring down cultural barriers. Character #2 Ian Miller would be the second main character in this movie. This movie revolves around their love story as well. Please elaborate with details/examples (14.28 Possible Points). 100 word minimum between the two There definitely was major stereotyping involved in this film. Tula’s family displayed all the basic characteristics that are associated with the Greek culture. They showed that they are all about family, good food, and how they take pride in their culture. I did notice some prejudices in this movie as well. Tula’s family did not want Greeks dating anyone outside their race or culture, which made it difficult for her to carry on her relationship in the beginning. Since it was her goal was to break free from the stereotype, she shied away from the norm of what her culture entailed. There were certain instances where her upbringing did influence a lot of her thoughts and actions, but not enough to be categorized as truly fitting the mold. For example, her mother did not have an education and her sole purpose was to take care of family. She was also seen as inferior when it came to her husband. Tula, on the other hand, wanted an education, wanted to break free from the mold of being just another housewife. She wanted independence and the freedom to choose whomever she wanted to love. But she still had her Greek beliefs that her parents had instilled in her, such as attending Greek school, where she then passed it on to her daughter in the end. Little things like that made us understand that she did not truly turn her back on her
