Is adnan syed guilty or innocent of the murder of hae min lee? Adnan was convicted guilty of the murder of hae by the jury. Also they said that his friend jay helped him with the murder and to bury the body at leakin Park. I believe adnan is innocent because he said it was an abnormal day and that he was at the library when she died. He is innocent because the cops keep asking jay about where he was that day and to he kept changing his story. This makes sense because adnan was says jay helped him with the murder but he said that he was at the library when she died. “Jay is worried about the camera’s at best buy and he was convicted of drug use and he has a criminal record.” The next day Jenn says she drove Jay to the F&M store, that same one
I am first going to talk about the evidence the state had against Adnan. They had Adnan’s timeline, they had cell phone records, they kind of had a motive. I am going to start with Adnan’s timeline of his day. Adnan got to school, carried on with a normal day, until around 10:45 a.m.. Adnan let Jay borrow his car because he needed to get his girlfriend a birthday present. Jay ended up having the car all day. So, according to Adnan’s story, he was with Jay during his lunch and free period. He would've left the school at approximately 10:45 a.m. and returned around 11:15 or 11:30 a.m.. His day continues on, late to his psychology class. At around 2:15 he went to the library to check his email, he was there until 3:30. Meaning he wouldn’t of been
Did Adnan Syed really kill Hae Min Lee? In the podcast Serial, Sarah Koenig analyzes the murder case of Hae Min Lee, which took place on January 13, 1999. Adnan Syed, the main suspect of her murder, was imprisoned after losing the case. Even after trial, Adnan’s friends and family don’t believe that he murdered Hae. Adnan Syed is not guilty of the murder of Hae Min Lee.
Adnan had an alibi, Asia McClain, who said that he was at the library after school, during the period of time when the state claimed he killed Hae. So, either the state’s chronology is wrong or that the alibi was lying just to help Adnan. The quote illustrates the letter that Asia McClain sent Adnan, “Dear Adnan-- I hope I spelled it right. I'm not sure if you remember talking to me in the library on January 13, but I remember chatting with you." (Episode 1: The Alibi p. 18). When Asia McClain wrote this letter, though it doesn’t have a exact time, continues to emphasize that Adnan is innocent because the state announced that Adnan was guilty, but since Adnan has an alibi, then there is proof that Adnan is innocent. Adnan also had a affidavit, a written statement confirmed by oath or affirmation, that was written by Asia McClain. “Asia wrote out an affidavit on the spot. In it, she says she and Adnan spoke for about 15 to 20 minutes while she was waiting for her boyfriend to give her a ride. Quote, "We left around 2:40," unquote. Remember, Hae is supposed to be dead by 2:36. And then, the kicker-- "No attorney has ever contacted me about January 13, 1999 and the above information."” (Episode 1: The Alibi p. 19). It is plausible that this key detail wasn’t mentioned at
That Jay is telling the truth and that Adnan is guilty for the murder of his former girlfriend due to him being too torn over the break up that he snaps and kills her. This is not the case. In fact, people should consider not just the evidence of him being innocent or guilty, but that if evidence is combined, they just do not add up. Even if Jay is correct, he still has many inconsistencies like the following: Jay changes his story over 4 different interviews, which is very unusual for a person to do. One of those changes was him stating he aided Adnan in burying Hae’s body but then in another stating he did not. As well as getting the phone calls at certain times and who Adnan called was often off as well. Just because Jay is the only person providing detailed stories and Adnan not remember what exactly what went down, is not conceivable evidence that Adnan is guilty nor innocent. As well as not enough evidence to convict Jay of the murder, even the a select few had plotted up that someone, not related to the case or seen not important before, is the one who killed her
Based on information provided by Sarah Koenig's podcast, Serial, for murdering Hae Min Lee, Adnan Syed shouldn't be calumniated. The 3 accounts are; if he murdered Hae he'd look back on the details from that day, Adnan parked Hae's car, as claimed by Jay, but he didn't remember that, and Sarah and her friend driving by the day Jay adumbrated.
Adnan Syed is guilty because Adnan asked Hae for a ride the day she went missing Koenig said " Adnan was looking for an excuse to get on her car, so he could kill her." But if Adnan did get the ride from Hae he would've said to take him to the Best Buy parking lot where no could see them for Adnan could kill Hae that didn't happen because he already had a plan.
Is adnan syed the killer of the 1999 murder of Hae Min Lee? Hae Min Lee was killed one afternoon after school and her body was left in leakin park. Adnan and Hae just broke up so he would be an easy suspect because he would know her schedule best and he would know how to hide it. Her body was left in Leakin park Mr.S found her body a while after being missing for a week and called 911 . I feel Adnan Syed is innocent in all of the cases against Adnan there is a missing piece to all of the stories. First The motive was too easy they thought so they broke up that could be the reason why he killed her because he was so full of rage and sadness. This motive seems as though he had no other reason for killing her, it is just that two unfortunate events happened so close the motive seems
Jay's stories and claims about timing, location, and events seem to always conflict one another. Jay gave three completely different stories to the police, and if you put Syed’s phone call records and match them up with Jay’s stories, they don’t add up. The first piece of Jay’s story that leads to believe Syed is not guilty, is that Jay claims Lee was killed in the Best Buy parking lot just before 2:36 pm. The problem with this is that multiple witnesses say they saw Lee in school well after this supposed murder time. For example, Summer, one of Lee’s good friends, says she spoke with Lee after school was over. Summer says they spoke about attending the wrestling match later that afternoon. Adding on to the witness’s sides of the story was Jenn, a close friend of Jay. She says Jay showed up to her house, unannounced, and was acting more energetic than the usual, laid-back stoner Jay. The next part of Jay’s story that did not make sense, was that he says he spoke with Syed at 2:36 pm on the payphone beside Best Buy. He says that Syed had asked him to pick him up because he had just killed Lee. The only problem with this is that there are no records that show the existence of a payphone near Best Buy. So, to contradict these testimonies, how did Jay know Lee was dead in the first place? The only way Jay could have known Lee was dead, was Syed contacting him via phone. Well, how could Syed call Jay and tell him to pick him up when Lee was dead on a non-existent payphone? Also, with the lack of consistency with his interactions with investigators, Jenn, and Lee's disposal, creates, to a certain degree, reasonable doubt in not only his words, but his involvement in the case altogether. This is not saying that Jay is guilty of the murder or that he had anything to do with her death, but is rather stating that his admittance to accessory after the fact
First, one of the reasons why Adnan is innocent is that many of the people who knew him well said that he was a very good kid. Usually, when people know a person very well, they would know the attitude of that person very well too. Similarly, the people who
Although i believe is innocnet because theres really no good evidence against him, some may argue he is guilty because he was the ex boyfriend, and the story his friend jay told in court was reasonable and real in court. This reason makes sense the jury believed jay, and some of his story mathced the call logs from adnan phone. This part of the story is when jay told the derectives about that day. The day hae min lee was murdered. A qoute form the story is when say said ‘’he said he was gonna kill her” thats waht jay said in a interview with detectives. This proves he is guilty because the jay story mathced some of the call logs. And he had witnesses who suppoted and were with him. Therefore adnan is guilty because the jury eventually ended
Adnan is probably innocent because the only solid evidence is Jay’s inconsistent testimony. The first evidence is the police audio when the first audio played jay mentions that he Adnan were at on the mall and the other audio mentions that they were at a different mall. And the second evidence is the court tapes when Adnan lawyer is questioning jay and changes his answers at the moment when jay was at the stage. And last evidence is Jay’s lack of memory because hard to believe that he forgot the day/night that he saw a dead body for the first time (Hae Min Lee’ Body)
The very first feelings of Adnan’s innocence I had were during Serial Podcast Episode 3. Several pieces of evidence were found in close proximity to Hae’s body that were never tested, like the rope and bottle. The podcast never said
To begin, Jay swears in court to Adnan’s actions. Why would the young man randomly decide to perjure himself, just to put away a friend for life? First to the police, and then on the stand, Jay maintains that he knew of Adnan’s murderous plans and even helped his friend carry them out. Not an easy thing to admit in open court, especially because his whole community was listening. Luckily, Jay didn’t need anyone to just blindly believe him, because Adnan’s own cell phone records supported his claims. For example, at 3:32 pm, when Adnan claims he was at school, his cell records show an outgoing call to a girl named Neesha. Only Adnan knew Neesha at all, but Jay had Adnan’s cell phone at this time, a point both boys agree on. Later, Neesha even confirms it in court- her friend Adnan called her, and she spoke to Jay during that same call. This puts the boys together in the middle of the day, and invalidates Adnan’s story. But that’s not the only fishy aspect of Adnan’s defense. According to him, he barely remembers January 13, the day of Hae’s murder. That’s convenient for him, because he won’t have to recall anything incriminating. But that’s also the day he got a call from the police telling him that his good friend Hae is missing. Wouldn’t a scary call like that cement the day more in one’s memory? Unless the call didn’t stress him out for the same reason he never tried to call her on his brand new cell phone- because he knew exactly where Hae was. On the night of the murder, Adnan originally admitted to the police that he was supposed to get a ride from Hae after school. Later, Adnan denied this, changing his
After listening to the Serial podcast it's concluded as being a mystery. It actually is easy to determine that Adnan Sayed is guilty if you go over the facts. Firstly, Jay’s testimony is the most solid piece of evidence against Adnan. The podcast tries to discredit it. Theres the state’s argument that Adnan is a sociopath. There are people who say he was a nice guy. They don’t know Adnan personally and are likely being manipulated. Even if you assume he is guilty you would have to assume that Jay is lying and lots of other things. According to some simple logic, it’s clear he is guilty.
What the State came up with is that Adnan had killed Hae sometime between 2:15 p.m. and 2:36 p.m. after school that same day. This gave Adnan a 21 minute time frame to leave school, kill Hae, and meet Jay back at Best Buy with traffic. This seems like an almost impossible trip due to how quick the murder was supposedly committed. Multiple people including Adnan have stated that Hae usually leaves school right away because she has to give her little cousin a ride home everyday, that is why when Hae didn't get her cousin on the day of her murder they called the police. Finally is while in Hae’s car if he had to drive it with the dead body in the trunk they would have found a fingerprint frenzy all over the steering wheel and trunk hood!
