Mr. Gronk was a mysterious old man. He kept to himself in his large house at the end of the cul-de-sac. He supposedly used to be a lively helper around the community; helping with the blood drives, collecting food for the poor, and other things of that nature. Once his wife disappeared, he simply avoided leaving his house. Some of the neighbors would say that they would see him walking around the neighborhood in the early hours of the morning, just looking around in the yards of his neighbors. Personally, I have never seen him doing that because I have a strict cirpphue of 11 o’clock. On the last day of school my friends Jack, Ian, and Tom decided that they were going to find their way into his house and see what he does all day. The plan was simple; everyone was going to “sleepover” Tom’s house. We picked Tom’s house because he only lived five houses down the street from Mr. Gronk and he snuck out of his house all of the time because his parent’s bedroom was on the third floor, and we would leave tom’s house through the door in the basement, loud noises were not going to be an issue. The issue would be finding our way over to Mr. Gronk’s house at one in the morning. Jack said that he could take flashlights from his dad’s bench in the garage and tell him that we were going to use them for flashlight tag. The problem was, if we used flashlights or anything that would show bright lights, we would be seen by Mr. Gronk during his early morning walk. We instead decided to take
“Well,” Mrs. Johnson interrupted, “how about we settled down and talk about our plans for the morning?” Everyone agreed and sat in a circle discussing their ideas. Next, they decided they should head to bed due to the early times they would have to wake in the morning. As they woke up, they put on their layers of clothes, grabbed their bags, and headed for the Johnsons’ business. They would be staying in an attic, which luckily had a bathroom, but would have to sleep all in one room. They set up their belongings and set rules which they would have to follow to stay safe.
One night at camp all the campers were invited to watch a movie in the big field. There had been some rules set in place for the safety of the campers. One of the rules was to not go past the orange cones into the woods. Later during the movie Jack Will whispered to August that he had to go to the bathroom, even though they knew it was wrong they walked to the woods to go to the bathroom. As they were walking to the woods they passed Henry, Miles, and Amos who were coming out of the woods.
It was Friday night, everybody was asleep, and it was time. So John ran down the stairs quite like a mouse and very meticulously, and then slipped out the window to walk over to mitch’s house. When he got there, there was music blasting, lights flashing, and people all over the place. Before he went to join the fun, John took a deep breath and thought whatever happens… happens. While John was at the party he felt pressured to partake in many bad behaviors, along with his friends while the were drinking and everything. John thought to himself about what he should do, should I go home and face the consequences, or stay and possibly face even more trouble. So he decided to stay and just see what happens. For the duration of the party John stayed inside with some of the other kids and snacked on some of the apitizers
Tom Wilkes lurched forward from his usual nightmare with sweat dripping from his face. He didn’t notice his hands were shaking more violently than normal as he reached for his glasses. This particular routine was nothing new, but this was the fourth night without a break from the violent awakening. The alarm clock read 4:40 A.M. Tom was surprised it wasn’t earlier, he let out a deep sigh and began his journey to the living room. The apartment was dainty but the lack of things furnishing it skewed the perception. The living room only contained a small futon and a 13” JVC Television, the television was unplugged and hadn’t been on for months. The small kitchen table was littered with empty royal crown and spring water bottles. Tom walked to the
On a warm, June night, I and four of my friends were sitting in my friend Jay’s basement after a long day at Westborough pool. My friend’s mom had ordered us two Papa John’s pizzas and we had a fridge full of Mountain Dew which was the perfect scenario for a group of tired eighth grade boys. We had planned a sleepover and FIFA tournament and people were already looking to claim the best spots to avoid sleeping on the ground. It was shaping up to be a nice, relaxing ending to a great day with my friends.
Our little hands were held tight upon each other, we glanced around with curiosity sparkling in our eyes. Giggling at the thought of what we were about to do, my sister and I glanced around hurriedly making sure no one was close enough to chase after us. Our young minds could not comprehend the idea that we were actually allowed to go back home for lunch. Motivated at the thought of this so called juvenile act, our veins were electrified with confidence as a we scurried across the gravel path. We stopped and attempted to cloak ourselves behind a vendor’s cart, as we peered through the piles of colorful guavas and pomegranates, spying the watchman. As soon as he turned around, we bolted toward to the entrance of the building complex. Running as fast as our little legs could carry us, we jumped into the elevator and rose to the third floor. “Sneaking in” my grandparent's apartment, we were greeted by my grandpa and as we told him of our adventure his laughter warmed the room.
One the way into the horrible apartment, the stairs that we were using had risers that where to high. So it makes walking up the stairs seem uncomfortable due to not being the normal sizing. We didn’t let that bother us, it was something that we could all get use too. So we continued to look around, when all of a sudden Kyle yells, “guys come look at this kitchen.” I had to admit that the kitchen was huge, it had plenty of cabinet space for 6 people. Also including a dishwasher and two refrigerators. Next, the landlord showed us the bedroom each having a nice closet and were bigger than the previous apartments we had seem. The thing that really threw the majority of us off from being really interested was when Lindsey asked. “how many bathrooms are
Although, who were we to know this was our one and a lifetime chance that was just now happening, now. Regretting every step we took we stood side by side, together because together is better than being all alone. Luckily, I had my best friends because they are my life, for real. The gravel of Chelsea’s driveway shifted as rocks kept being transported to a new home. I couldn’t even hear myself think as I stared to find myself standing feet away from this mansion that, moments later would quite honestly probably determine my high school fate. Shoving was involved to determine who would walk up and ring the doorbell. Of course, after not making a very strong case I was designated to walk up and face, what I suspected to be filled of terror and have all kinds of erroneous mistakes. After we verified that we were going to be left there all night we knew we had
She always gets a little nervous whenever she leaves her house for the night. The only thing Julie is scared about is getting caught by her parents. She is scared that her parents would wake up in the middle of the night, go to her room and find her missing. Though this wasn’t her first time sneaking out and she had never been caught, it was still one of Julie’s biggest fears. Julie usually tells her brother to cover for her when she’s gone, but she didn't want to tell him this time because she was getting picked up by someone her brother disliked very much. So once she left the area of where she lives, she texted him saying “I left… tell me if mom and dad wake up… i’ll b back in a couple hours.” Her brother then responded with “Why didn’t you tell ne you were leaving… who’d you leave with?” Nervously, Julie answered saying “my friend Melissa.” In reality, she had left with a guy not a girl. Fast forwarding to two hours later, Julie and her friend, Andrew, had picked up a couple of midnight snacks, stopped by another friend's house, and had just been driving all around Laredo, listening to music. It was now ten till 5 and Julie was getting tired, but she didn’t want the night to end
After summer vacation starts, Greg's mother Susan announces that the family is going on a road trip. At a cheap motel that night, Greg and Rodrick decide to go to the pool, but find that there is no water in it. There is a hot tub nearby, but it is occupied by a family and they cannot convince the family to let them use it. They return to their room to find that the rest of the family has fallen asleep, taking up the bed. Rodrick proceeds to make a bed for himself out of sofa cushions leaving Greg to sleep in the closet. He falls asleep for a few minutes before being woken up by kids who were playing with a cleaning cart. Greg yells at them for causing a commotion, making the smallest kid cry and call for his father, who nearly catches Greg. Greg nicknames the family the "Beardos".
It was midnight in the middle of summer. Darkness had taken over as we walked through the city of Negaunee. Our group consisted of Chris, Evan, Hunter, Marc, Trey, and me. We had been on an expedition to find nothing in particular, except fun. Our tribe of young, dumb individuals had just come out of Super One as they were starting to close. We made our way over to the Subway to see if anyone was hanging around there. Hunter had just bought a Brisk Ice Tea from the supermarket, and had a few quarters left over. We thought nothing of it, but he was teeming to tell us his plan.
It was a late summer night, when Hanna and I became bored of lounging around and watching T.V. “Boredom: The desire for desires” (Tolstoy). We decided to text a couple boys, Cole and Daniel, and have them come over to hang out. At the time, we thought this was a wonderful idea; however, it was much later than we were aloud to hang out with anyone, let alone boys. Cole and Daniel decided to still come over. Now, our problem was, how to sneak out of Hanna’s house. Making our decision once the boys arrived, we decided to crawl through the narrow window in the basement. Sneaking out the window was tougher than we expected. Once out the window with the top half of our bodies, we had to plunge our hands in the mushy mud and drag the bottom half of
It was the first Monday of summer break I was scheduled to go out with Haley at 12:00 pm so we could have a girls day. It was about 11:30 when Haley arrived at my house to pick me up so I finished getting ready and we went out to Larose’s for lunch at LaRosa’s Pizzeria. By the time we got there is was 12:00 pm and we waited to order. While we were waiting there were three men in black that sat at the table next to us. Haley and I were talking about our plans for the weekend to see if we wanted to have a girls weekend instead of one day. The three young men that were next to us started talking about a building and it seemed interesting so Haley and I decided that we should listen to see where the building is. One of the young men said “ Yeah that building on the North block of Subway Street it's amazing. We used to go in it every Friday night to have our building block party.”
Is that you, Jonesy? I asked because he usually had the longest stride, slowest run, and loudest footsteps. Nope, he replied. Then they stopped.” I look at their faces and Mom screamed: “DINNER’S READY!” We all ran to the kitchen and got our plates piled with homemade pizza. “Continue the story!” one of my brother’s friends shouted. “Let’s finish eating,” I said. “Darn!” all the boys said in unison. We all immediately started laughing. We sat around and finished off all of the pizza. We all went back into the living room, except me. I hung around to make sure my brother had his costume on right and it looked scary enough.
The next morning I woke up in my bed but I don’t remember how I got into my bed but I thought whatever. I got up and got dressed in a longsleeve black shirt with a pair of blue jeans and a pair of sneakers with a large necklace to cover my neck and ran out the door so I wouldn’t have to see or speak to my father. I walked all the way to the school alone I was running a little late I walked in the building only to be met with the eyes of Henry, Victor, Belch and Patrick.” I stopped dead in my tracks and sped off past them not even looking any of them in the eye especially not Patrick. I ran straight to class and sat down in the back knowing Miss perfect and her squad of cheerleaders wouldn’t mess with me today then I started to think where was I going after school I couldn’t go home there’s no way I could go home. I was snapped out of my thoughts as the bell rang out and the teacher walked in as the last few students filed in I looked to the door and saw that Henry and Patrick were in my class. I sighed “Oh God no.” I looked down and out of the corner of my eye and saw Patrick point over to me then him and Henry walked over and Henry sat beside me and Patrick behind me. “Hello there Kitty Kat.” Patrick said and I started getting uncomfortable I started moving up forward moving my desk up only for it to be moved back. In the middle of the class while the teacher was talking I glanced over to Henry to see him staring at me and I whispered “What are you looking at Bowers?” He
