Experiencing Film in Theaters Watching movies is probably one of my favorite activities, it does not matter if the movie good or bad; I just want to watch them. I loved going to the theaters as a kid because the entire experience was always so exciting, especially since it was the first thing my mother let me do out on my own. Going to the movies had always been a blessing but as I have grown I have made an effort to go less often. While the experience is still the same I just notice just how bad the overall experience can be as well.
Honestly, the best part of watching a movie in theaters is the movie theater experience; for example the seats, the popcorn, the large screen, the sound system, the people, and the new releases. It is not just you in your room watching a movie, it is you reacting to the film and to the people around you around you as well, all the while getting all these over the top elements as well. Movie going takes a common experience and amplifies it so it feels like you’re getting something even greater.
Plus, my favorite part for any film has always been the trailers; the exciting bits and pieces of coming films thrown together to entice future visits. With fast paced action and cliffhanging details that are thrown in the 2-3 minute time frame, I am left wanting to come back and see that movie when it comes out. It is how they reel me in and keep me coming back in regular intervals. I have also gotten really into staying for the credits as well
I was working late, which is usual since I work at an outdoor theater. The show had just ended and the crew was changing the set over for the show being performed the next day. I was asked to run up to one of the storage containers and find some props from the previous year for another theater asking to borrow it. The lights only reach the larger, main room. I searched that area first. I went around the row of cars and 4 wheelers, but the box wasn’t there. The other side of the room had all of the Christmas decorations and a horse carriage, but I was unable to find the box I was looking for there either. The only place left to look was a small area in the back sectioned off by a boards nailed up into a makeshift room. A little light spilled through the door, but racks of costumes at the entrance absorbed all of the light. After fighting my way through the dusty clothes, I found myself in dark too thick to make out the boxes in front of me. The Wnad-Lighting Charm was perfect for my situation. I moved my wand in a single loop while saying “Lumos.” A soft yellow light was emanating from the wand. It wasn’t very bright, but it was sufficient enough to read the labels on the boxes by. After a few minutes, I found the box I was looking for. I pulled out my leatherman and used the blade to cut the tape on the top of the box. On the top was the prop I was looking for. I pulled out the “magic” flowers and the remote that caused the blooms to open then made my way back to
This assignment gave me the opportunity to better understand the every day life of someone who lives with a hearing loss. I was very pleased with the accuracy of the captions (when the device worked properly), but there were aspects of this experience that could use improvement. In conclusion, I believe this particular Cinemark theatre could serve their customers in a more professional, friendly manner. Also, I did not find the staff to be very enthusiastic to provide help when it was needed the most. Concerning the ADA, the theatre was able to provide me with the ALD of my choice; therefore they were in compliance with the law. Although I was using a CC device I felt the theatre fairly provided me with equal access to their services and did
Theatre means more to me than just something to do when I get bored or something I need to get through for high
When people go to the movies, they go to immerse themselves in something
I love movies. For as long as I can remember, I’ve harvested a passionate, slightly embarrassing obsession with film. The way in which cinema can paint such vivid and beautiful moving images, portray moving stories containing a wide range of emotion and narrative threads, leaving a long-term impact on the viewer, all within a runtime of two hours or so, captured my fascination at an early age. This fascination continues to this day. While I cannot state for certain the first film I ever watched (My parents seem to think it was either Disney’s animated princess flick Mulan or The Phantom Menace, the first film in the Star Wars prequel trilogy), I can most definitely remember the first film that left a lasting impression on my youthful mind, in addition to inspiring me until this day.
Although cinema is now a priority, some feel as if cinema is no longer the cinema when it was first established. Movies no longer have that special feeling like viewers once had. Today, films are not only shared within a theater, if one pleases they could always have the same experience elsewhere. Moreover, with technology expanding, it takes away the importance cinema once had. “The
Film can have many different interpretations. It can be taken as simple popcorn entertainment that breaks box office records. Or, it can have a powerful moral or message it wants to convey, and have the audience form their own opinions and thoughts. One film that had an impact on me is the film Blackfish. The film gave me opinions on animal cruelty, corporate corruption, and manipulative marketing. All of which are ruining today's society, and had me questioning about what it means to live in a world where these insufferably cruel acts are taken place in a tourist heavy attraction.
I look for many different things when I watch a movie. The Biggest thing I look for is plot. I want the plot to make sense and to flow well. I hate when movies have a lot of unexplained plot holes, it makes the movie hard to watch. I think the best movies have well thought out plots. The plot should make the person watching the movie interested in watching until the end.
Everyone watches movies, whether it be in a theater or just at home on your TV. The reason that most people think of is just simply for entertainment. The fact that there are so many different genres of movies makes it easy for us to bring out different emotions while watching them. Those rush of emotions are what keeps us entertained and coming back for more.
What makes people fascinated and amused to watch movies? I think all kinds of movies are, in there own way, great. Practically the excitement of horror movies, and science and technology of science fiction movies, and action and enthusiasm in the action movies are some credits that makes people’s engrossment. Even so could all movies create an entertainment and make people experience their thoughts of imaginations in the real world. What are the most interesting things about these film genres, which could establish a fantasy world for their fans to escape to their imaginations and live with it? Participating in suspense, adventure, mysteries, and discovery amuse audiences every time they watch films. There is specific film genres that have
They are two very different settings, but like other things, they also have similarities. No matter where you go, you’re still watching a movie. You can still eat and still spend time with your friends and family. Hopefully when watching a movie one is watching something that have been looking forward to seeing, the movie is enjoyable, whether at home or the theatre. Another thing that doesn’t make cinemas less appealing is that one can whisper in small amounts, as long as no one is being bothered. Finally, similarity is found in both settings, nobody likes their movie to be interrupted by either a phone call or a text. One has to immediately turn of their phones.
Watching a film on TV is better than watching in theaters this how I’m going to prove my comparisons. It's annoying when you hear from friends what happens in the movie and it ruins the whole thing. It just isn't the same! It depends on, how good your surround system is and how big your TV is, and economic hardships today. It does not mean that the enjoyment of watching movies needs to be sacrificed. There is something to be said for big screen viewing; however, the home provides a comfortable, intimate, and common place for families to enjoy classic or newly released movies. Choosing to watch a movie at home is comfortable,
In 1999 B. Joseph Pine II and James H. Gilmore published “The Experience Economy”, introducing the new term and its ideas. Until recently, this term was mostly used in the administration context, but now it has become a more important issue in business growth and development. This economy is described as something that is intangible - something more like a memory that the client appreciates indefinitely. It is an experience that incorporates the greater part of the five senses, and it cannot be experienced anywhere else (Pine & Gilmore 1999).
First of all, theater as well, as the film is the form of entertainment. Theater was one of the first forms of arts that made people feel emotion: sadness, laughter, thoughtfulness while being entertained. By watching actors perform on the stage the viewers live and feel every moment and emotion. The amusement that comes with life performance is extremely inspiring and motivating. The point of entertainment is to capture the attention of the audience and that's what
to a theater is a good change for a person in contrast to watching it at home. Theaters are a popular
