The Great Wall of China was originally built during the Qin and Han Dynasties to protect China from the Xiongnu. It took the people of ancient China nearly 2,000 years to build and spans nearly 6,000 miles. However, building the wall was extremely costly in terms of men and supplies. Despite the cost of the wall, it proved to be immensely beneficial to the Chinese people. This is a result of the wall providing protection for merchants, the people within the wall and preventing the Xiongnu from invading.

Building the Great Wall was not worth the cost. The Great Wall of China is a long series of walls on China’s border that was built to protect them from getting attacked. The Great Wall was built to keep out the Xiongnu and other groups that attacked them. The Xiongnu was the main group that attacked China. People want the Great Wall built because it protects the Chinese states and empires. I believe they are wrong because it cost a lot of money and labor, it didn't work, and there was a ton of harsh working.

For thousands years, the Mongols have been a big threat to the Chinese civilization. The Great Wall of China took about 2000 years to build and finish. It has been measured to be over 5,488 miles long. Due to the many threats and enemies of Chinese, the wall was built. In my opinion, the benefits of building the wall do outweigh the costs for many reasons surrounding the topic.

The Great Wall of China is often regarded as one of the man-made wonders of the world. The wall was constructed over a period of 2,500 years and stretch to be 5,488 miles long. The wall was built to increase security, impress visitors and enhance the glory of china. However the wall also required much sacrifice on the part of the Chinese people. Overall did the benefits outweigh the costs? The Great Wall of China stretches over 13,000 miles and is an iconic symbol of China, which makes it quite an important wonder of the world today. The wall was first started around 200 BCE by a local ruler who later got the name of Emperor Qin. He ruled the Qin empire, which lasted for around 15 years, until the Han dynasty took over for the next 400 years. The wall started being built because of the Qin and Han dynasties' concern for border security. China was and still is bordered by Mongolia, which at the time consisted of the Xiongnu Mongols, who were especially bothersome.

The first reason why the Great Wall was not worth the cost was because the wall was not very effective . The chin and Han dynasty's built the Great Wall to keep out invaders. People would walk around the spots where there wanot a wall built yet or a spot where guards were not on duty. ( Doc B ) The purpose was so that not as many guards would have to be on duty, but just as many guards were then as there were when the wall was not yet built. The Great Wall of China stretches about 5,500 miles long crossing deserts, mountains, grasslands, and plateaus. It took more than 2,000 years to build this incredible manmade structure. Many people died to build this wall. It displays the changes between the agricultural and nomadic civilizations. It proves that the superb structure was very important to military defense. It became a national symbol of the Chinese as a security for their country and its people. Mount Fuji is the largest volcanic peak in Japan. According to the website, “Volcano Discovery”, it has “a base diameter of almost 50 km and culminates in a 500 m wide and 250 m deep summit crater” (Mt. Fuji). Mount Fuji is mostly basaltic and is considered a stratovolcano, a volcano comprised of various layers of lava and ash (Wikipedia). Located about 60 miles away from Tokyo, it is considered one of the most beautiful landmarks in the world. At about 12,000 feet tall, it has many artistic attributes to its’ physical appearance of which many people enjoy visiting. There is a large amount of controversy over whether the volcano will erupt again. The last time Mt. Fuji erupted was in 1707 (Mt. Fuji). While the volcano has not erupted for a while, there is still much seismic activity happening beneath the surface. Because of this, many people believe that the mountain will blow at any time. This possible eruption would be greatly devastating, $31 billion in damage, to the Honshu Island region in Japan (Blackstone). While Mt. Fuji is a work of art, it also has the potential to cause a large amount of destruction. Constant surveillance of the mountain is vital to ensure the safety of any individual in the vicinity.
