That’s the first thing everyone thinks about when Comic Con comes to town. All of those psycho people in their heavy costumes in the sunny San Diego heat. You’re thinking that all cosplayers are the same but they are actually very different. There are different types of cosplayers.
First you have your normal, casual cosplayers. You’ll see them in what looks like a discounted Halloween costume with a couple of additionally accessories. They just want to become their favorite superhero or anime character for a day and don’t care how screen accurate it looks. Just being able to represent one of their favorite characters is more than enough for them.
Next we have the real deals, the official cosplayers. These people work on their cosplays for month’s sometimes even years! The costumes they create make themselves look like they are stepping right out of a comic or movie set. They have a goal to make there costume as screen accurate as possible, which takes tremendous dedication and work. Some of these cosplays will leave you breathless and are so realistic that you almost think they are from our
Also, shawls, moccasins, leggings, chokers, and traditional dancing items, such as paddles, clubs, and spears are used. Costumes are time consuming to make. All of the materials must be gathered, of similar quality, size, and color to make a costume attractive in design, appearance, and consistency.
Cosplay which is short for “costume play” allows an individual to basically be someone else, typically an anime, cartoon, or even video game characters to name a few. Along with the costume they take on that character’s personality and role play as them. Some will make the costumes themselves while others will buy pre-made ones. There is quite the amount of work and dedication that goes into doing this, not just for the sake of the costume looking accurate but the

The group members often get tattoos with their “Juggalo names” and other Juggalo tattoos. They also wear face paint to look like scary clowns, usually black and white to emulate the Insane Clown posse’s style. Their
The costumes fit the personality of each character perfectly. For example, Gomez Addams costume was just like the one we are all use to. He wore a black and white pin striped suite, with slicked back black hair and his signature black mustache. Another example is Uncle Fester he wear a black moomoo looking gown with a bold hear and a sickly appearance. Next would be the Addams dead relatives, they were all dressed in white from head to toe. They all had dark dead eyes and sickly sunken in cheeks. The makeup and costumes helped set the
The event, which had two acts, first started with the group named “Batman.” Needless to say, the performance involved the comic book and it was littered with its colorful characters. Batman and his sidekick Robin fought against four villains who threatened to take over the city. The highlight of the show was nearly at the end, when the Joker hold a sign that said: “This is a bomb.” He then proceeded to throw it at the other players, who were at the back of the stage, and they all reacted as if the bomb had made explosion, collapsing onto the stage. The designs, made by Sam Laney and Mary Millage, were made very similar to what an actual costume of Batman or Robin or the Joker would look like, except these were not costumes—well pulled off.
As the performance goes on, the costume design represents where our characters are at in their timeline. While, in the first act, the characters are dressed in stereotypical post-apocalyptic attire, it does vary in from what we are presented in the last two acts. Around the campfire, the characters are dressed in
One of the most consequential misconceptions about the Gothic movement is of the religious affinity of those that believe themselves to be "Goth". Because of the false media portrayal of Goths, and the mistaken idea that Marilyn Manson is Goth, the public is lead to believe that all Goths are Satanic. Yet, in reality, "Many Goths reflect popular culture and are probably nominal or devout Christians. Atheism, Agnosticism, the New Age, Gnosticism, Shamanism, Wicca, other Neopagan traditions, and other minority faith groups are represented more frequently than in the general population" (Robinson). While it is true that many Goths wear the Christian Cross or the Egyptian Ankh, many times these religious symbols represent a satirical ideal, or are sometimes just for the sake of fashion. The gothic subculture is not a religious movement in any sense of the word, although its constituency is accepting of members from any religion.
Such characters as these were created because the audience could relate to them and laugh. As the people changed, so too did stock characters. More were added into the list of masks, and elements such as costume changed to suit the society the play was directed at.
There are two types of dressing styles of the fans, the hippy culture and the modern metal culture. To commence off, the hippy culture consists of all ebony outfits and jean jackets. The modern metal culture style conventionally consists of an ebony t-shirt, leather jacket, blue jeans, and boots. The t-shirts and hats that are worn to the concerts customarily have an imprint of the band name or logo. This sanctions other fellow Metal Heads, to get a feel of what other relish to rock out to. Hats, Jackets, and shirts worn by metal fans are adorned with pins, buttons, spikes, metal bullets, or other complementary appurtenants, such as patches. Customarily the designs that metal heads prefer are skulls, skeletons, snakes, or dragons. Dragons are among the most popular items, representing
Though I am inclined to agree that the practicality of costumes is not necessarily there in regards to most superheroes, I believe these features are iconic in the representation of superheroes. The change of costume is vital in giving “the wearer the psychological advantage of feeling like a different person in their costume than in their civilian clothes (Brownie and Graydon 13). However, these costumes in a realistic setting suddenly become impractical, constricting movement or even vision for costumes such as Batman’s. Especially in regards to actual combat, I doubt any superhero’s costume would be protective, but rather the costume itself becomes a performance. In this case, I believe that superheroes need their costumes in order to truly
As a furry, I could explain to you the classifications in the fandom. Furries put themselves in different classifications, the three primary classes involved are ‘gamers’, ‘fursuiters’, and ‘furry lifestylers’. The ‘gamers’ appear to be like your average person that enjoys games; however, they focus on games involving furry art and anthros. Fursuiters are amongst the most unique individuals you will meet of the fandom, and the best ambassadors of it; ‘”Fur suiters,’ like making and wearing animal costumes (xydexx.com).” They wear something along the lines of a mascot costume, typically these costumes will, however, have modifications to them, which enable the wearer to either look ‘more realistic’, ‘cooler’, or even let them
