For my Inquiry based teaching approach, my plan is to focus around the various mediums for Monster and follow whether or not the students perceive Steve as guilty. The different versions of the book that will included in the class will be Walter Dean Myers’ original novel, the graphic novel adapted by Guy A. Sims and illustrated by Dawud Anyabwile, and the accessible audiobook. Each of the media has their own pros and cons, for example the graphic novel and audiobook can assist students struggling with reading above grade level or provide students with vivid content for the story through a dramatic reading or visual images, however they are both shorter than the original text and doesn’t allow the reader to picture the characters based on …show more content…
The first one will be an essay for the students to conclude their final thoughts for Monster. The main goal for the essay is to allow the students to form their stand on Steve’s verdict and how they reach their conclusion based on the lesson. A student can cover all the factors that lead to their decision about Steve’s ruling for his case, such as the textual evidence, the medium they choose, the class discussions, and their own thoughts. The students can write their essay in different ways such as a basic formal essay, a final extended version of their journal entries, or even write their own version of the attorneys’ closing arguments. For the second option, the students will be making the movie version of Monster. The original text follows Steve’s movie script of his murder trial and the other Medias are incomplete version of the script so making a movie allows the students to express how they understand the story using another medium. The students are not required to make a complete version of the trial even if the script is short. Instead they will be placed into small groups and choose one scene to recreate by recording on film, doing an reenactment in class, or another type of medium that hasn’t been discuss in class. The final Project is meant for students to evaluate Steve’s story through their own

Each parent feels the need to give their kids an extraordinary birthday party. Rashid needed to give his son, Luce, an incredible third birthday by setting up a Cookie Monster themed party. Rashid, however thought having the Cookie Monster there would improve Luce birthday regardless of the possibility that the Cookie Monster was to come to the party. He would not like to rent a Cookie Monster for many dollars when he could claim one. Rashid chose to offer on a Cookie Monster that he thought would be a less expensive and better thought. At the point when Rashid was disclosing to Walter he said "It was about overcoming alternate bidders and bamboozling the salespeople. There go the offers. Forty dollars. Fifty-five. Higher. Seventy-five, ninety. Something was instructing me to stop." Rashid needed to win the offer for the Cookie Monster furnish he lost the genuine site of why he was offering for the suit in any case. Rashid wound up spending more than one thousand dollars that said "Shiny new and never worn" on the outfit and when the ensemble came it noticed
“Hey guys! This is the last communication you shall receive from me. I now walk out to live amongst the wild. Take care, it was great knowing you” (Qtd. In Krakauer 69). After graduating from Emory University, Christopher McCandless abandoned everything, gave his entire savings account to charity, and then hitchhiked to Alaska to live in the wild. In the novel, Into the Wild, Was McCandless justified in shunning society? McCandless was justified in shunning society because he simply wanted to find himself and be independent without any distractions from his friends or family.
From the first time Victor Frankenstein saw his creation standing in his bed chamber he was petrified of the seemingly harmful creature that stood before him and immediately flees, leaving the creature to fend for himself. He describes it as “the wretch- the miserable monster who I created” (Shelley 56). He then says “one hand was stretched out, seemingly to detain me” (Shelley 57). These statements lead us to believe that Victor’s creation is evil and wants to harm him but the monster is like a new born baby and we are not born into this world evil, we are influenced by the things around us that shape us to be who we are.
Environmentalism has always been two sided. Nature versus urban. locals versus national. Frequently, large tracts of public and federal land are bought and developed by industry. Pristine wilderness turned to bustling epicenters of human activity, all in the name of progress and economic growth. This tale of preserving natural wilderness is one that begins with John Muir, an advocate against the taming of Yosemite national park and the Hetch-Hetchy reservoir, while the head of the US Forest Service, Gifford Pinchot, insisted on the reservoir to supply the city of San Francisco with water. This timeless epic of conservation or preservation brings us to the Jumbo Valley, a vast expanse of uninhabited, pristine wilderness home to diverse
First, the Monster wants to be good, but becomes evil because of how his creator treats him. Shortly after the Monsters creation, Victor, the monster's creator, saw his creation standing at his bedside with “one hand [being] stretched out, seemingly to detain [him], but [Victor] escaped and rushed downstairs” (Shelly 43). Here, the Monster sees how his creator flees from him; later he also learns that Victor views him as an “abhorred monster” and a “devil” (Shelly 81). Victor's act of fleeing makes the Monster feel abandoned. This feeling of abandonment is later directly expressed to Victor by the Monster, and is used as reasoning for a threat towards Victor when the Monster says: “do your duty towards me and I will do mine towards you and the rest of mankind If you will comply with my conditions, I will leave them and you at peace; but if you refuse, I will glut the maw of death, until it be satiated with the blood of your remaining friends” (Shelly 81).
No outcome is ever the same as another. There’s always a different ending. If there wasn’t, life would be on a loop. This is what Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant scholar, begins to worry about in Frankenstein, by Mary Shelley. He made a promise to make another creature of the opposite sex for the one he has already created. However, the creator opened his eyes, and realized that there are negative results to this deal that has been made. The young scholar didn’t want to break the promise, but he was looking for the best interest of his family. One reason why Victor didn’t want to make another monster was because this female monster that was about to be built still posed as a threat to the Frankenstein family. She may feel hatred of some sort towards their family, and may
General speaking, the story of monsters has been told for centuries. Various version of monsters appear in the book. Some born from the deepest hell, bring destruction to all living beings. Some sent by the God to punish mankind’s mistakes. However, just like all creatures, monsters still need a place to rest. The only question will be, where do these fearsome creatures usually hide?
In 1983, Raymond Carver introduced his short story “Cathedral” to the public. The first-person narrative takes place within the narrator’s home, where his wife is waiting upon the arrival of her blind friend Robert. The narrator, however, becomes more concerned about how Robert’s visit will affect him rather than enjoy the situation. Once Robert arrives, the narrator tries to understand the blind man, but he is unaware of what tasks Robert is capable of performing due to the narrator’s inability to “see”. In time, Robert shows the narrator the difference between looking and seeing through illustrations of a cathedral, drawn by the narrator with his eyes closed. “Cathedral’s” narrator exposes readers to anti-heroic views
Mice are one of the most common household pests that you will see. They can live in any area in your property without being detected easily. Mice are known carriers of diseases like leptospirosis and rat bite fever. You should eliminate them and their hiding place right away. It is better if you book the services of a professional pest control company to get the job done.

The last time I saw Charlie outside prison walls we were on the run. Charlie was on the run, not I, I just went along for the ride because he was my husband. Charlie was on parole, but he loved to drink his booze. In our state it's a violation to drink while on parole.
Why spend money that is really needed for other things? Why live uncomfortably? Why be trapped in this hole called a home that belongs to another person? Why not live free and peacefully? When a person rents he or she usually throws away money that could be used to purchase something that belongs to them. Money is not easy to come by so why pay out hundreds toward something that is not benefit to the person paying it out. There is no good explanation for making a decision like this. The best option in a situation like this is to buy a house. Buying a house is a better option than renting an apartment.
“Your assignment is to write a persuasive essay and present it to the class in a week. You will be graded based on how convincing it is. Today we will be choosing topics,” announced Mr. Bowerbank, my 7th grade English teacher and ruler of classroom 110. My class simultaneously groaned at the prospect of work. I simply lifted my head with intrigue as it was already May and about time we had our first essay. He then proceeded to give examples of topics we could choose and gave us some time to think before we had to tell him our topic. My classmates were already rushing to tell the teacher their idea lest someone else steal it. That meant the usual abortion, death penalty, or drug use topics were out. I really couldn't think of anything and the teacher was slowly making his way through the remaining students like an executioner beheading criminals in a line. I have always thought that he would make a marvelous supervillain if he had a curly mustache, a tophat, and a cape. Eventually my name was called. I slowly dragged myself over to his desk. Even sitting down, he still seemed to tower over me. “What is your topic Cindy?” As usual in such desperate times, my mind turned to food. “Waffles are better than pancakes.” I figured that a waffle was just a differently shaped pancake with a nicer texture. “Hmm. Excellent topic. I look forward to your essay!” I survived to live yet another day.
