My second career preference is a General Internist. A General Internist is a general term for a Physician who has a broad knowledge of the human anatomy. Most subspecialize in specific specialties, such as: Cardiology, Infectious Disease, and even Oncology. The subspecialty that I want to achieve is Endocrinology. Endocrinology deals with the endocrine glands and hormones. Internists work alongside other medical specialists to help a variety of patients with their care and plan for any issue that the patient could encounter. Responsible for conducting tests and developing treatment regimens for their patients, General Internists work with mostly adult patients, although specializing in pediatrics is an option, as well. They follow a patient's treatment through the diagnosis of their condition to the transitions from in and out of the hospital.
Currently, I am working for Home Life, which is a non-profit organization that assists people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. I am also conducting research at OSU on cartilage cryopreservation. After an arduous, yet enjoyable journey, I hope to travel to developing nations and assist those that are unfortunate, by providing knowledge regarding health and medical practices. Working hard in school and excelling in everything I pursue ties in with my long-term goal of becoming a doctor. This is due to the fact that attaining such a career requires self-determination, strength during times of agony, and resilience as well as reflection from every failure. Personally, preventing diseases and spreading awareness medically would be profoundly illuminating.
When I get older and advance in my career, I would like to be a Certified Pharmacy Technician. Pharmacy Technician is a health care provider who provides pharmacy related functions to people who need medication. We can also work for long-term facilities, third party insurance companies and pharmaceutical manufactures. A pharmacy technician job is never an easy job. Maybe one day I could even become a Pharmacist. A pharmacist is the person who writes prescriptions, knows what drug a client needs and can diagnose a person. Where on the other hand, a pharmacy technician works under them. We give out and sort the medication. A pharmacy technician cannot diagnose a patient. I plan to work hard and get my certifications to get to where they are so I will be able to diagnose people and have that title.
Today, less than half a percent of Americans serve in the military, and of that number, about fourteen percent are women. Women have been serving in the United States Navy since 1942 (Saxena, 93). In addition to stating that the Navy is part of the Defense Department, the largest Government agency in the United States, that employs over 2.1 million people, it can be better understood to define the Navy as a seagoing arm of the nation’s military forces (Saxena 11 ,87). The Navy offers various job titles and careers, including microbiology. Within microbiology you investigate the growth, structure, development, and other characteristics of microscopic organisms, including algae, bacteria, and fungi (Choices Planner). Microbiology is just one of the many possible careers featured for the United States Navy.
First of all I would like to be in the healthcare field because I would like to have the ability to help parents keep their children safe.I love children and I hate seeing them when they are sick. I would like to be able to help them live a healthier environment by helping them avoid illnesses and by helping them get over illnesses quickly. I would like to one day find a cure for an illness and save multiple children or
There are hundreds of career paths and options, which can be overwhelming and exciting. I have looked into many possibilities and wanted to talk to a speech pathologist about their career and responsibilities. Speech pathologists, also known as speech-language pathologists or speech therapists, help individuals with a multitude of disorders, associated with swallowing, speech, and language. They can work in schools, hospitals, specialty clinics, or through private practice. I chose to interview Sherri Anderson, a speech pathologist for Rock Creek Elementary School in the Beaverton School District in Oregon. Ms. Anderson originally got a degree in English, and worked for a bookstore for a decade before going back to school to become a speech
Choosing a career you would like to pursue for the rest of your life can be quite the hassle. You have to consider your strengths and your weaknesses along with the changing economy. If you do not take into consideration those things I just said, you might be unhappy with the career you chose. The career I chose to pursue is a medical laboratory technician. A MLT is a person that performs medical laboratory tests for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease. During their job, they analyze bodily fluids, conduct blood tests and transfusions, examine cells stained with dye, record test data, take care of laboratory equipment, consult with pathologist about abnormal cells, and collect
I really enjoy helping other people and/or animals. Knowing how the body works is interesting because you have to be careful in everything that you do and you always have to be focused in your work. After High School I plan on attending Junior College at Delta College in Stockton, California for at least two years. Being present in a Junior College will help be get ready for the next step of becoming better in school and in the medical field by allowing me to have more experience out in the field. After my two years at Delta College I hope to attend a four year U.C. by receiving a scholarship for either my academics in school or for my athletic potential.
The biology career that i choose to do my research paper project on was a Microbiologist which is a biologist that studies is a scientist who studies microscopic life forms like cells and processes or works in the field of microbiology. The job of a microbiologist is to study bacteria, virus, cells, and other organisms that can not be seen with the naked eye they do that so they can reroute viruses or bacteria that can harm humans to make life safe harm humans to try to reroute them and make them non harmful towards humans. A microbiologist would study ebola or the flu virus to come up with a cure. This means they have a part in health care because they cure diseases and/or fight against them. I will be discussing a Microbiologist from their
I would be more interested in participating and working in forensic pathology. I would really enjoy doing autopsies and finding out time of death and the cause of death of people. I would enjoy working with blood and tissue samples, and I
I feel that the world will always need people in the medical field. I want to discover cures, medicine, and ways to improve the quality of life. I want to be apart of a major breakthrough and reveal new things no one thought would be possible for a long time. I would love to see several changes in medicine and the field such as the prevention of diseases, making the public more aware of fatalities that can occur, and most of all to give people and animals a life that is enjoyable which people in the medical profession are entitled to do everything possible to make that
military. I am an enthusiast of becoming both a military officer and a physician since a teenage. I am fond of challenges, ever-changing conditions, and lots of responsibility. I am adept at adapting in various environments, as shown by having experienced as an Emergency Medical Technician, a Mental Health Specialist (MHS) at McLean Hospital, a resident assistant in college and other positions that require multiple skill sets and the leadership obligation. I was a role model at McLean Hospital as a MHS that I was given the opportunity to train others in utilizing the novel electronic patient care system.
The ideal job for me would to be a Registered Trauma Nurse. That means that I would be working in an area such as an emergency room or even places that had suffered traumatic events. I would love to be a traveling nurse that goes from one incident to another. Any time a tragedy struck I would be able to travel there and assist the residents in the area that needed help. In order to do this I first must become a Registered Nurse. Afterword’s I need to go back to school for my bachelor’s degree and after that get a certificate in the specialized area of trauma nursing. I love to be able to help people and I think that trauma nurses are extremely underrated. Think about it for a minute. When there is a fire, tornado, bomb, or a war nurses in general are used, however trauma nurses are specifically trained to handle the kinds of wounds that you would see in those scenarios as well as other similar situations. I have no problem with blood or gore. I see wounds and become fascinated in how they happened and what can be done to treat them the most effective way. So I believe that this would be a good area for me to be in. Traveling around to help others is just a bonus. It means not only do I get to go to new places but I get to help more people.
The science related career that I chose was a dietitian. The main parts of this job are to help and tell people about healthy eating and living. Some of the other tasks of a dietitian are, giving people advice about healthy eating, making presentations, doing reports, making sure that people can accept their illnesses, explain health nutrition to the public, helping people with dietary changes and knowing all the key health needs. Dietitians are trained health care professionals. They have to know how to help people change their eating habits to help people with sometimes life threatening illnesses. A dietitian researches new ways to improve health care and can prepare future dietitians for their jobs.
My interest in microbiology deepened during my bachelors degree while studing Medical Microbiology at Trichandra college. While in bachelors degree, I learned how to manage time in stressful conditions besides laying a firm base on the basics of Microbiology and lab practices. I tutored high school level students as a part-time tutor
