From Sept. 22 to Oct. 5 surrounding counties are asking you to ditch your cars and think outside the box when it comes to transportation. Which could include biking, walking, riding the bus or even carpooling. During the challenge week, you log you entry on the car-free challenge website. Then everyday you're eligible for daily prizes and a grand prize. "We want people to think in terms of 'what if I try the transit bus or bike or share a ride'. Congress is the national legislative body of a country. The main functions of Congress are lawmaking, representing the people, performing oversight, helping constituents, and educating the public. However, Congress is said to do not do much lately. Nonetheless, they still pass important bills every now and then. The United States uses bicameral legislature, which there are House of Representatives and a Senate with Republicans with majorities. Usually, they do not agree on policy. Yet, recently, President Barack Obama just signed a bill to law, which is H.R.3700, the Housing Opportunity Through Modernization Act.
The Greener Beltline in Atlanta project will introduce bike stops along the Beltline for a low cost to rent as an appealing alternative to transportation, exercise, and leisure time. This project will lessen the amount of mobile emissions in the city of Atlanta and increase the community’s quality of life. Moreover, this project will also provide resources and community engagements for local adolescents, adults, and bike organizations of the community. The resources and community engagements will be on the weekly basis and based on a monthly calendar located at each resource center and bike stop along the trail. Due to the Greener Beltline in Atlanta project being a project addition to an existing project, there may be more challenges faced than normal. One challenge that this may cause is the risk associated with adding an additional project onto their current project. The Greener Beltline in
One thing about the news today that my Mawmaw has noticed is how it has changed so much since she was young. If there was a shooting or a tragedy, it was a rare occasion. Today, a major crime happens weekly. From the church shooting in Georgia, to the explosion in France, and, just recently, the shooting in Colorado at the abortion clinic all happened within months of each other. She especially recognizes how the devil is attacking young people of today.

Hi Margairia, your story is like so many others that was affected by cancer. Some of us are not educated on it until it affects someone near to use. Cancer is a horrible disease that will affect us all one way or another. My uncle that passed this week, his cancer started off in the bone. Then we were told it had spread to his mouth where it also began to have tumors in as well. The number of things that cancer does to one’s mind and body is indescribable. This pushes me more to maintain a healthy lifestyle so that my children can continue to carry it out.
This week’s readings discussed consequences for special education students. It was very interesting to see the different court case rulings for each case. Teachers, administrators and parents need to make sure they have everything accurate when taking a case like many of these to court. In this paper I will discuss the five key points in the articles and readings stood out to me the most, how and if my beliefs changed or were altered, and how I might apply the content to the classroom and instruction.
Additionally, when I get my license this summer, I can provide carpooling services to others in my area. Not only will this reduce the carbon footprint of my entire neighborhood, it’ll also give a break for the parents.
Pertaining to the “day without cars” tradition the city of Bogota, Columbia : “It has seen the construction of 118 bicycle paths, the most of any Latin American city…” (Belsky, 3) A single day without cars has encouraged not only, new businesses to spring up and infrastructure to be improved but also physical activity to become more common in countries that implement such a tradition. In my own experience, a less sedentary lifestyle means lower risk of heart disease, obesity, and other weight and activity related ailments. In addition car usage reduction seems to lessen stress, a claim that mother of two, Heidrun Walter testifies to. “ ‘When I had a car I was always tense. I’m much happier this way.’...” (Rosenthal 1). This is a benefit that cannot be ignored as higher stress levels can take a toll on your mental health. Last but certainly not least, is the fact that less smog will discourage the pollution-induced respiratory illnesses permeating the developed world. Polluted air is not meant to be breathed and less of it is better for the whole of the
Ever saw a WWE fight at school? Well there sure was one like it at Cheltenham High School. Four girls had a fight and it injured about 7 teachers, three officers, and made the four girls arrested. The District's school is deciding to make an alternative school. I agree with the idea because it will give the people who pay the taxes at the school’s area it’s worth, children in the school will be given better safety, and the town will have better reviews to the school or area.
Transportation in the region has a long and successful past. However, public transportation has consistently taken a back seat to the personal automobile. There has been a strong core of persons who rely on public transportation to achieve mobility, and governmental
Well hello everyone! The name is Memow. I am great kitty just waiting and hoping to soon find a great home, where I can receive unconditional love I enjoy being around and playing with men, women, and children of all ages. I am still on the young side and am still active and playful, and like playing with toys such as bouncy balls, toys covered in catnip, and strings. However, from to time I do tend to play a little bit too rough. Even though I enjoy being active and playing, I also enjoy just laying around the house in cat bed or even in the sun relaxing. I absolutely love to receive affection, and will produce some loud purrs to show my appreciation. However, I don’t like my stomach to be touched or messed with. In my previous house I lived
Plato Paper The Platonism ideology of what consists of a good life and how to carry out one contains several controversies which all funnel down to living for the afterlife. Plato claims that the knowledge to live a good life comes from the recollection of said knowledge which we innately know as human beings, which comes from the soul which is an immortal essence. An individual will recollect ideas once they recognize it in situations and experiences. Following this understanding of abstract ideas, once an individual will act upon these abstract ideas they will then form them into concrete interactions and once acted upon, that individual will begin to transform and begin living a good life.
In this project, different windows server related topics are going to discussed that includes installation and configuration through Active Directory (AD), file storage, virtualization, remote access, troubleshooting, reliability, and performance to deploy a secure networking environment. There are many problems exist in deployment of client/server model into organization especially when some user want to access their office computer from remote places. For example, network failure is the most common problem to create a session between server and client. Along with that, SSL certificate issues can be exists most of time as a connectivity problem. In regard to AD problems, some issues would be discussed including replication, performance, authentication and DNS configuration. Sometimes, a domain controller received a substantial number of another replication domains that are not compatible with the main domain controller. A solution would be discussed to resolve these mentioned problems to increase the performance of network connectivity and enhance the security level at client/server level.
Paddleboats would be popular in the lakes and river. Walking and biking would be the most influenced form of transportation. Neighborhood stores would be encouraged, promoting bike and walk transportation. No mass transportation systems will be found running through the city.
