This is an issue with I am constantly torn. There is something so simple and almost beautiful in a people voting and deciding as a group can’t we just vote our way to utopia?  However, when you think about the politics behind what even ends up on a ballot, you can start to feel powerless, and the vote meaningless; I understand why these women would want to fight for something greater.

Dinahlee Martinez has a loving personality. She puts others before herself and makes sure everyone around her is well. She is funny, outgoing and can be sensitive at times. For the amount of time we have live with her, we seen how a good of a mother she is. She never gives up on us. She continues to push us in every way. She currently lives in Bloomfield, New Jersey. Our country needs everyone to vote, including women. For instance, if only men voted then women wouldn’t have a voice in our country. Back in 1848 women didn’t have any rights. From the Declaration of Sentiments written by Elizabeth Cady Stanton States, “He becomes, in marriage, for all intents and purposes, her master -- the law giving him power to deprive her liberty, And to administer punishment.”. From the example given it shows once women are married they lose all their rights and have no voice. Once a woman divorces her husband back in 1848 she would lose custody of her children and would be about to become a teacher of religion or be in medicine. Overall, we need women to voice their opinion to help our country, not just men.

Have you ever heard of Alice Paul? If not she was the first women to fight men to let women vote. I’m glad that women can vote how about you? So now I will talk about how she was as a child to her middle age, to her as an adult.

Pedro Alonzo Lopez who is also known as the “Monster of the Andes”, is a serial killer that is known to kill many people. At first he started off as a petty thief and then he went on to stealing cars in his teenage years. Then later on in his life he started killing and raping people. Pedro Lopez’s main victims were all young girls. He would look for young girls on a busy street or a market. After he would find his victim that he thought was good enough he would then go onto kidnaping them and then rape them. After he was done raping them he would strangle them to death as he would stare into their eye. He has been caught many times but was released and his main focus was to make the young girls lose their innocence. He is known to kidnap, rape and kill over 300 young girls. After he was done killing them he would bury them and sometimes he would even bury 3-4 girls in one grave. In a confession he once stated that he would have tea parties or would play morbid games with the dead children, not only that but he would also prop them up in their grave and talk to them and would convince himself that his little friends likes the company (websleuths).

The newest generation, also known as the Millennials, has sparked one of the latest topics of debate and that is voting. Recent examples of young voters excelling political candidates have occurred with Bernie Sanders and even helped bring Barrack Obama into the presidency. These articles by The New York Times delve into the underlying cause of the low turnout rates. Most of these articles place the blame for low voter turnouts on colleges. Colleges are not to blame for these turnouts as they don’t discourage political thinking.

The LVW was founded by Carrie Chapman Catt during the convention of the National American Woman Suffrage Association in 1920. It was organized just six months before the ratification of the 19th amendment.
