WSUSOM’s mission is to provide “Michigan community with medical resources in the form of trained professionals.” Most of my parent’s family members live in Detroit and I would like to stay close to them because they are the one who raised me until I turned 11. By attending this school, I will have a chance to serve them and this community because this school’s ties to community are strong. I plan to spend most of my life in this area. In addition, this school has a nationally recognized research facility. My research experience has enabled me to think like a scientist. I plan to continue doing research in medical school. I believe that by attending here, I will have a chance to use my research knowledge to advance medical and scientific knowledge
By entering this program, I hope to acquire this deeper understanding by pursuing a degree complementary to my specialty and gain crucial experience as a PhD to thrive as a scientist. I believe my foundation in research, academic performance, and motivation to enter the field of medicine make me a strong candidate for admission as a MD/PhD student, and I hope to use these degrees together to serve the scientific community in ways I could not by choosing just one. It would be my purpose as a researcher to contribute to our understanding of the human body and my purpose as a physician to bring a higher level of care to as many patients as possible, both present and

When my interest and desire to become a physician went underway during my Junior year of undergrad, I had the desire to attend a medical school that I would fit into well, obtain a great medical education, and enjoy the years that I would spend at the school. I wanted to find a school that I could use my diverse skills to improve not only the student body and community, but also my life by being at a school with a similar vision as I have for myself. When researching universities that would fit this mold I came across Morehouse School of Medicine. After researching the school's mission and goals, I felt that I fit into the mold of a diverse individual looking for a nurturing environment where I could gain an effective medical education. The
WVSOM’s reputation for preparing physicians for careers in primary care, and its emphasis on training students to treat poor and rural communities, make it the ideal institution to pursue my goals. I am especially eager to participate in WVSOM’s SP program, which encourages

3. Researching at the Mercer University School of Medicine: I believe that doing research at a medical school can help set me apart from some other
Attending Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine’s would allow me to contribute to the mission of developing solutions to help residents of Washington. Whether it was developing innovative teaching methods in coaching or finding solutions to challenges faced in research, part of my personality is finding unique and innovative solutions to challenges I face. Through the school I would be able to work with rural medical offices and hospitals, in collaboration with the technology incubator, to develop technology that would make providing healthcare easier and more affordable.
Alabama A&M University has numerous student organizations to get involved in. They have cultural, Greek, academic, and etc organizations that you can join. Two of those organizations have caught my eye so far. I want to join Pep Squad, Chemistry Club, Southern Belles and PAC.
It showed the professors at George Mason provided inspiring material to their students that excited them to do more and strive beyond their goals. Overall, this is what encouraged me to look into George Mason, because I thrive on challenge and pushing past my comfort zone. I was intrigued by the research facilities and excited to learn how George Mason and its students are contributing to the world by combining technology and medical science to develop new tools and techniques to help medical professionals diagnose and treat patients. I was also impressed by the federal funding list was for these adventures. It was equally as exciting to read about George Mason supporting students of all majors from computer technology pushing issues web access, to political majors supporting legislations. There is nothing better than going to a college that supports the causes and findings of its students. I want to be part of an institution that isn’t solely focused on its curriculum but on the student, developing people to succeed in life not just in a career field. I’m excited to have a chance to be part of a challenging and inspiring
I believe that the mission of providing an excellent education for all students is one that is perfectly aligned with my past and future. Growing up I in a lower socioeconomic environment in Dallas, Texas I became the first person in my family to go and finish college. After obtaining my Bachelor in Psychology, I then became the first person in my family to go to graduate school. YES Prep believes that there is a transformative academic and social benefit for students when their teachers and leaders reflect a diversity of backgrounds and I believe that I can do just that. Working with YES Prep will help me help those who are like myself and more. I have always had a knack for helping others and this would be a great opportunity to continue
I believed in your mission statement, especially, this part, “dedicated to provide high-quality, accessible medical care to underserved communities, regardless of their inability to pay.” I also believed that community health nursing is one of the best ways to reach the most vulnerable and under-served in our society. The reason why I decided to go back to school to become a nurse practitioner was based on my community health care experiences from volunteering in a community based family clinic that served low-come population and doing my community hours during my BSN program. The lack of health literacy that I saw firsthand that exist in underserved population about the importance of preventive care, vaccinations, and chronic illness management

As a competent registered nurse, my career goal is to become a healthcare quality improvement leader, a position that would enhance my commitment in promoting patient safety. I not only believe in enhancing the capacity of other care providers, but also in improving the quality of the healing environment for the benefit of both patients and their care providers. This means not only promoting collaboration with the multidisciplinary teams, but also building the necessary healing partnerships with our patients. To enhance the quality of the healing environment, I aspire to continue analyzing researches for evidence based practices and advocating for their actualization. I will continue focusing my time and energy in encouraging other nurses to improve their skills through formal education, so they can empower themselves as advocates of quality improvement for the benefit of their patients and coworkers.
My goals for the next ten years, would be to get accepted to medical school and to graduate from medical school. Specifically, my top three medical schools that I would love to go to would be Oklahoma University Medical School, University of Colorado School of Medicine, and Oklahoma State Center for Health Sciences. To be honest though my top three are the places I would absolutely love to go to, I would gladly take a medical school that would accept me. Currently my plans for a specialty in medical school is endocrinology or immunology, I love the way that the body interacts with itself and how it is able to get confused and attack itself is probably my main interest in the specialty. My goals after I graduate medical school are, working in a hospital somewhere in Oklahoma, preferably in Oklahoma City or Tulsa, and work there as a resident for a time until I would be able to open up my own private practice or join a private practice and continue my health career from there. One of the things that has become increasingly interesting with me is Doctors Without Borders, which may end up being something that I would participate in after medical school during my residency or around the time that I would join a private practice.
