Comparison of Mission Statements: Heart of Lancaster Medical Centre and High Desert Medical College, Inc.
Mission Statements of Two Institutions:
The mission of the Heart of Lancaster is "The Heart of Lancaster understands and values the role that we play in the tapestry of a person's life. We know that health is the combination of body, mind and spirit, and will hold sacred the lives entrusted to our care". (Heart of Lancaster: Regional Medical Center, 2011) In contrast the mission statement of High Desert Medical College, Inc. is based on the mission of the original founders of the institution namely the Legacy Education Institution. The college has for its mission statement: "Legacy Education uses sound educational practices in cutting-edge fields, anticipating the needs of the coming marketplace and inspiring staff, faculty, and students alike to strive for excellence in education." (Legacy Education LLC, 2011) These two mission statements have identical import but have different consequences as can be analyzed.
The Mission Statement and its Effects:
Mission statements for any organization are today a foundation stone for defining its activities, attitudes and culture. Thus the mission statement influences the organization to a very great extent. Thus the mission statement shows the degree of internalization and the general principles of governance adopted by the institution, and its core values and responsibilities and the area of interest. (Yopp, 2008)
A better mission, that incorporates the strategy, would include not only their dedication to the individuals they serve, but also to their partnerships with healthcare providers. The mission would also include their innovation capabilities. In that respect, the following revised mission statement is presented:

Subsequently, their mission statement clearly identifies the organization’s reason for being; as a result, they successfully guide and inspire moral conduct. Their mission statement combined with their core values form the core ideology; “Core ideology is the central identity or character of an organization” (Johnson, C. E. 2016).
To be the premier provider of state-of-the art health services in the greater central Ohio region. Our mission in the long-run is to be able to provide health care in the North West region of Ohio. Our intent is to focus on preventative care. However, as of today we are currently making coverage more affordable by reducing the cost of health care. Ultimately, our mission is to ensure everyone receives some type of support and for our company to focus on health through technology.
Loma Linda University's School of Medicine in California opened in 1909 and the school’s mission is to combine medical science with Christian compassion. Loma Linda students are trained in a context that emphasizing the patient's needs and preventive care to offset future disease.
Most organization have develop an element called a mission statement. A mission statement describes and helps focus the attention of organizational members and external constituents on the organization's core purpose. This is use in the criminal justice and security agency use mission statement for the success of the organization and better serve the community or businesses that they have agree to serve and protect.

When I committed to Maywood University I did not have the “Mission statement” in mind, I was not thinking about what their “Core values” were. Honestly, they didn’t even cross my mind once. All I was focused on was that they had my program and it was in commuting distance from where I live. Reflecting back on this diction, when I accepted Marywood University as my school and home away from home, I was also accepted their mission and values. Committing to a college is a big deal and will have a lasting impression on the rest of my life. Thus, a mission statement must be meaningful and applicable to all stakeholders for strategic decision-making to be effective.
This being said, upon further investigation it seems that the original mission statement listed above does not appear on the website at all. It seems as though the new mission statement is geared towards education instead of the original which focuses on
Modern hospitals have adopted two different approaches in developing mission statements i.e. "excellence in patient care" and "healthiest possible community." As the Chief Executive Officer of a brand new 250-bed community hospital in the Midwest, there is a great need to develop the hospital's mission statement through either of the approaches. Currently, the most appropriate direction for the hospital in excellence in patient care. This approach will enable the hospital to become a significant contributor to the improvement and delivery of healthcare services. The advantage of this approach over the other is that the healthiest possible community cannot be achieved without excellence in patient care. Therefore, mission statements that are based on excellent patient care focuses on making a difference in people's and community's lives.
This essay is to debate the question whether the role of a mission statement is as important and beneficial as sense of mission and if they can work as two separate functions in the strategic management process for organisations.

Vision statement describes the company or organization future successful in the next five to 10 years. It is also an inspirational and aspirations statement for the organization, companies, and employees. Vision statement given employees a sense of purpose or hope, but today people need hope and purse for a company. There are five Healthier Leadership organization have a missions and visions statement which is unique. Each mission and vision statement is having one purpose which is development health care leaders but their statements have some pro and con about it. The vision and mission statement will play a main part in the five health care leadership organization.
