A career I will plan to do as I get older is Material Handling. I started off learning about it in Job Corps. I am attending Job Corps right now at Finch Henry in Batesville; Ms. Yes my trade that I am taking up is Material Handling. I wanted to try something new in life. As I stayed in there working and learning how to drive the forklift I enjoyed it and it got easier to me. Material Handling is the field concerned with solving the pragmatic problems involving the movement. Storage is a manufacturing plant or warehouse control and protection of materials, goods and products throughout the process of cleaning, preparation, manufacturing, distribution, consumption and disposal of all related materials. All of those names that I named are things that we have to do every day. Doing that teaches me a lot and makes me think about …show more content…
In the warehouse it is very hot but we have to deal with it. Before we started all of that we had a lot of paper work to do. I was excited when they mentioned to me that I was completed. I knew I could complete anything after that. The focus of studies of Material Handling course work is on the methods, mechanical equipment, systems and related controls used to achieve these functions. I stay in Starkville, Ms. Down there we really don’t have too many Material Handling jobs. So I am going to have to move out of town so that I can get a good job that has a good salary. I was thinking about going to places like Toyota, or Ashely’s furniture’s. There are plenty more good jobs around. Some that are even better than them but I do not want to go too far from home. I want to be able to see my family and give them money when they need it. I want them to be proud of me and maybe have someone in the family that would like to follow my footsteps. Material Handling is a good trade and it teaches you a
At the beginning of this school year, I began to realize something. I realized that my high school years were coming to an end. This was an eye opener for me. I didn't know what to expect of my last year nor what I wanted to do after high school. I then began looking for a job. So I applied to Chick-fil-a. I waited patiently several weeks for a call, but received no call whatsoever. I patiently waited for a new opportunity to come along. Until finally, I was given an opportunity at an electrical shop. On the first day of work I was introduced to the staff and learned the procedures of what needed to be done. My job now was to maintain the shop clean and to keep all materials organized as well as other tasks that helped me grow with my skills.
The career I have chosen is an Automotive Technician. An automotive technician is a person that is certified to work on vehicles electrically and mechanically. I chose this career because i enjoy working on vehicles and making other people's
World War 1 had dramatically and tragically impacted soldiers due to the living conditions in trenches and the use of weaponry. Firstly Trench warfare’s was used to protect the soldiers from enemy, gunfire and grenades. The depth of the trenches was the key aspect of having a successful trench, as it would allow soldiers to be protected from enemy gunfire as they stood or moved about. Trench warfare occurred as a war tactic, where both sides dug deep trenches as a barrier against the enemy. The trenches massively affected soldiers as it caused a number of casualties on the battlefield and horrific diseases from health problems. Trenches were contaminated with rats and lice. Climate gave trenches unpleasant and terrible conditions. Charlie shows
The areas of my industry that I find the most interesting are areas where I get to work directly with students in a supervisory/advisory capacity. I want to help student develop as professionals, members of society, and leaders. I could see myself as a director of Greek Life or Student Leadership. I know though that the journey in the student affairs field is likely very diverse and no two people follow the same path. So I am excited to see where I go.
The career I choose is physical therapy. Physical therapists develop plans for the patient to follow and recover. They use exercises and stretching techniques to treat and prevent further injury of the patient ( “Summary”). I choose this career because I enjoy helping people get better. It is important to understand the education or training requirements, skills or talents needed, salary and benefits offered, and the duties, for a particular career when making this decision.
I am currently a senior at UHS. I complete odd jobs with farmers when needed. My future plan is to become a certified welder and welder inspector.
I remember realizing that I wanted to find a career where I could be a persons motivator in a one on one setting and someone’s hand an feet at times where they were not able to use their own. I soon found, after some research, Occupational Therapy. I looked more in to it and found out that this career focuses on characteristics that I newly realized I wanted to be. From there I went in to college choosing to pursue this career. This was only a small reason why I choose this track, but my interest and hopes were concluded when I started to observe an Occupational Therapist.
My top three careers of interest are a Nurse Anesthetists, Phycologist or an Interior Designer. While learning about all three of these careers I could see myself doing each of them. A Nurse anesthetist interests me because I have always known I like the medical field, but have struggled to decide whether I wanted to be a nurse or a doctor; with this career, i get to do something in the middle. I also like it because it is not as much schooling as a doctor but still has the great pay. I also was really interested in being a Psychologist, when reading about this job and the skill sets it needs I feel like it would be a very good fit for me. The last job I found interesting and thought would be a lot of fun was an Interior Designer. This caught my interest because I love using my creative side.
In 1781 William Herschel, discovered the planet we know today as Uranus. Herschel, who had been raised in a musical family, was an amateur astronomer who enjoyed charting the sky in sections each night. Herschel used his skills in music to fund his passions for astronomy and building telescopes. Through his nightly charting, Herschel discovered Uranus. Initially, Herschel thought it was a comet because of its slightly askew shape, however upon further exploration he found it to be a planet. Herschel confirmed his discovery by contacting Nevil Maskelyne. Maskelyne was the astronomer royal. Herschel named the planet ‘Georgium Sidus’ after King George III. France would not use the name, calling the
The career path I have chosen to enter upon the completion of my college major is in Occupational Therapy Assistance. Occupational Therapy is the medical treatment for people who are limited by mental health problems, the aging process, physical injury or illness, and learning or developmental disabilities. An Occupational Therapist Assistant, or OTA, is the assistant to the Occupational Therapists, or OT, and assists him or her in providing Occupational Therapy treatments and procedures. An Occupational Therapist Assistant may also assist in the development of treatment plans, direct activity programs, carry out routine functions, and document the progress of patients’ treatments. OTs and OTAs work together with their patients, and their goal is have their patients regain the highest ability of functionality in their daily lives.
As the world expands, new jobs are developed just as frequently as old jobs are destroyed, and we have society and lifestyles to thank for that. So when choosing a career field, you must keep that in mind, which might make it a little tricky. When choosing a career you have many factors to take into consideration such as, but not limited to; salary, hours, locations and most importantly if you are going to love what you do and not feel like you're dragging yourself out of bed every morning to go to work. But besides the great feeling of loving what you do everyday and wanting to do the second most important factor to take in consideration is, to think about what jobs aren't going to be changing anytime soon or have a large decrease in
Occupational therapy is the career that I have always been interested in because it is a career where I would be able to use my creativity when providing therapy to patients, work and connect with a diverse population, and be a leader. From volunteering and shadowing therapists, I have realized that there is no patient that is the same. Occupational therapists meet with many patients each day and each therapy session is customized for that specific individual. I like this because as an occupational therapist, you have to get to know the patient on a personal level and adapt as a professional to a treatment that will benefit each individual patient. This is a part of the profession that I would enjoy I would continue to learn everyday and I would be able to connect with people. I would be able to use my creativity to help individuals get better and
People Need to Recycle In the United Sates, where the population is inflated every year. The amount of space for landfills decreases every day. The need for recycling should not be asked, it should just be done out of habit. Everyone in America needs to recycle, to help the lamdfill problem, help the environment, and help produce new products from recycled goods. In America there is about two-hundred and eight tons of residential and commercial trash generated a year, 4.3 pounds per person a day (Prichard 1A). This is an overwhelming amount of trashed produced yearly. When people recycle this number can be drastically cut. But many people do not practice and use
I remember my first semester here at the University and the dark halls of the Bates House Residence Hall. Many a party was concluded with an idea for what to do with the endless piles of cans that had congregated on the floor. One idea, I remember, was to wall someone into his room and another was to see how many we could stand on end without toppling. But, we usually just ended up throwing them in the trashcans in our refuse room. Sometimes out of the five trashcans in the room set aside for trash disposal, three or four would be completely filled with hundreds of cans of various beverages. Upon further contemplation, I can also remember the small, blue bucket that was thrown
These days, our earth has been filled by a lot of waste. There is a lot of garbage, plastic waste, and electronic waste. We always produce it and dump it when we need the new one. Our waste are piling up and continuously accumulating. Plastic waste is one of the biggest problems for us now. And our solution in this problem is recycling. In my opinion, recycling is a way to manage used items into new products. We can reduce, reuse, and recycling (3R) waste management (Peter, 2013). We can reduce our waste clothes with reuse it. There are some reasons why peoples recycle used or unwanted items, which are, prevent wasting unusable materials that still have usage after recycled, reduce the application of raw materials, reduce energy
