As the world expands, new jobs are developed just as frequently as old jobs are destroyed, and we have society and lifestyles to thank for that. So when choosing a career field, you must keep that in mind, which might make it a little tricky. When choosing a career you have many factors to take into consideration such as, but not limited to; salary, hours, locations and most importantly if you are going to love what you do and not feel like you're dragging yourself out of bed every morning to go to work. I want to major in social work to be a therapist. The idea of finding a career that would constantly be in demand of employees and secure so I wouldn't have worries of being unemployed, was in the back of my head when I set my plan for my life, early freshman year. Just like careers in the medical field, public services and so much more, a therapist is always going to be in high demand. Sadly unfortunate events are always going to occur causing kids and adults to seek help. No matter how long it takes me to obtain my degree this field is most likely always going to be in need of highly efficient trained employees. Physical, family, marriage and child abuse are just some of the many types of therapy people seek. I personally want to be a child sexual abuse therapist. I feel that sexual abuse is something that disgustingly won't be stopped anywhere in the future. Due to the fact that the world so poorly educates children and families about prevention and simply because there is always going to be corrupted people.
This career will most likely not have many changes due to the fact that sexual abuse is not going to come to a stop anytime soon. I feel that it will stay the way it is now in an office or home setting, very intimate with the child and therapist, maybe a few extra company depending on the situation and client. Just a relaxing atmosphere of comfort and ability to talk out your problems for a sort of relief. I also don't believe the pay will change anytime soon nor will a therapist responsibilities. In my opinion it is a very secure job, meaning pursuing it is
“What do you want to be when you graduate high school?,” my mother asked me. She has asked me this specific question my entire life but today she wanted an answer. I was seventeen, only a month away until my eighteenth birthday, so it was time for me to make a decision. I told her I did not know and she started to list a bunch of career options I could pursue. She continue to go on and on then, she said Occupational Therapist. My mom described to me what Occupational Therapist did and their job responsibilities. That is when I decided that this is the career for me. I am driven to become an Occupational Therapist because I want to provide for my future family, and to grow spiritually and mentally in the process.
I settled on psychology as my major when I entered Worcester State University since my own background was dysfunctional and there were many unresolved issues during that period of my life that psychology helped me to understand and come to terms with. Another reason I decided to enter this field was because I find the human mind to be an intriguing enigma with psychology helping us understand the human mind and behavior through research , especially personality/social psychology. I want to focus on helping people resolve complex emotional issues or developing solutions for real-world problems. Others delve deeper into our understanding of the human mind and behavior by conducting research and adding to the body of scientific knowledge. I want to be in a position to help people who are going through hard times, as my therapist did for me.

Once we are born, our parents bestow upon us a given name that distinguishes us from others. My parents named me Allison but most people just call me Allie. For this scholarship, I plan to tell you my life story by including my involvement, my interests, and my financial concerns.
The career that I am most interested in studying is child and family social work. The role that many social workers have is being able to help vulnerable children that are in difficult situations while providing aid to families. Growing up in a difficult living situation motivates me to want to help these children and families as much as possible and to relieve their pain.
The career field that I chose to go down in is human services. And this gets my attention because I want to go into psychology and in that field of work you deal with people that are experiencing a difficulty with something. Because if you help somebody you feel better about it. The work environment of a psychologist is usually just an office of some sort that is relaxing and nice so that the person they are working with feels comfortable. I can enter this career from getting a bachelor's degree and a lot of colleges do such as UNL.
Steve Jobs once said ““Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do.” I think that you need to love what you do and if you don’t love it then maybe it’s not the job for you. When choosing a career for you need to make sure it’s something that you love or you won’t enjoy

One of many reasons I would also enjoy social working as a career would be helping these people overcome obstacles they thought they’d never overcome. While growing up and facing tough situations in life, I always had family and friends there for me which is why I would love to help others and be there for them because it’s a great feeling knowing that you have people there wanting to listen to you and help you through problems.
My personality type was ESFP. ESFPs love people, telling stories and having fun. They are outgoing, and they love to entertain. Most of the traits that ESFPs generally have describe me, those traits include the following: value people's feelings, independent and resourceful, they hate structure and routine, feel special bond with children and animals, and they have great people skills. The career I have chosen is social work. I feel that my personality would really fit in well with this career. To be in the field of social work you have to be able to connect with people and be able to relate to them and I believe i would do well with that. To be a counselor you would have to of been through hard times and have had experiences in

I deserve this scholarship because I really want to make a difference in someone's life. The more fiances that I am able to collect for my undergraduate degree will allow me to spend more money on in medical school and other things that I need to become a pediatric psychiatrist. I am fully aware that this scholarship will not pay for everything that I need in college but it will definitely help. I have two siblings and we are all exactly twenty-two months apart from each other. That is not a lot of time apart and it is crucial that I get as much financial assistance as possible.
Even with the research done, I could not give you a clear answer in which area I would like in social work. I know I want to work somewhere that deals with kids, but not family and children's services. I want to help kids and care for them and provide safety and security to them. I absolutely adore kids because they are our future. I could write a book about this but it still want give you my clear answer in what I want to do.
When faced with what job I must select in the future, I must weigh what values are important to me. In America, more often than not, jobs are valued based upon a mixture of social prestige and salary. Some jobs are extremely lucrative and have a great deal of prestige, like being an engineer, a doctor or a lawyer, because of the intelligence and education that is presumed to be necessary attain these positions as well as the money these professionals earn. Other jobs have less prestige, but are still relatively high-income, like becoming a plumber. A plumber is still a skilled 'trade' that requires intensive work, apprenticeship, and effort. Other jobs are less well-paying but have some prestige such as being a schoolteacher, a journalist, or a fitness instructor. These occupations still require specialized skills. Jobs that have the least prestige tend to be unskilled and poorly-paid, such as working in retail service, minimum wage jobs, or as a waiter. Most people want a job that is both financially and personally rewarding, but to find meaningful work, every candidate must be honest about his or her needs, skills and personality. But regardless of what is your vocation, it is essential that it is 'work worth doing.' All work is hard in some fashion, but you should hope that the type of work you do is difficult because it is challenging, not because it is tedious.
Throughout my life I've encountered amazing human beings who have inspired me to be better. I cannot imagine not going to college because it feels like I have no other option. It's like trying to get from the kitchen to the living room. You know all you have to do is walk. I feel like all I can do is college. The one goal I am trying to achieve in my life is doing what I love for a living. I want to become a Therapist. I love making people feel better and helping find a better way to figure out things that may be stressful and depressing in their lives. Within the next 10 years, I hope to be only two years or less closer to getting my doctorates degree for Counseling Psychology. I aspire to inspire. I work hard everyday in school because I
