I am DeQuandra Lyles from Sawyerville, Al and I'm grateful for my family and the scholarship to Neosho Community College.  I'm grateful for my family because it has been a rough week for me. I can always count on them they support me and everything I do. Even when I have bad days my family are my motivators. Family would listen to what you have to say and will refuse to give up on you. However, I'm grateful for the scholarship I didn't expect to receive one. The scholarship helped me out a lot I was less stressful. The scholarship paid for my tuition and books so less money came out of my parents pocket.

I am writing this letter to thank you for your generous $700 Overstreet Scholarship. I am so appreciative and thankful for this opportunity and was so shocked that I was eligible for this. Receiving the scholarship was and still is such an amazing feeling inside for me and shows me I have more potential than I thought. I was selected as the recipient of your scholarship and have never been more grateful for the opportunity that you chose me and recognized me as an individual.

I am Writing to thank you for your generous $ 500 Textbook Scholarship. Thank you so much for this wonderful reward. This motivates me so much in my education. When I checked my email, I was so happy I burst into tear.

I would like to express my thanks to the Buster Bynum Education Scholarship for allowing me the opportunity for financial assistance through your scholarship program. Being the second child in my family to attend college, I know that college can be expensive. At the age of seventeen, I am the youngest of six children. I learned from my family that they will give me all the love in the world, but when it comes to money I have to earn it. For the past three years I’ve earned my gas and spending money working a part-time job laying sod for Mid-South Enterprises LLC. I am confident that my parents will help as much as they possibly can financially, but with the assistance from scholarships my out of pocket tuition cost can be less.

I am writing this letter to express my interest in becoming a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. I am excited about your commitment to leadership, scholarship, civic engagement, and service. My life has been blessed with the opportunity to volunteer, mentor and serve my community. I would like to continue my passion and be a voice for the Mu Pi chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated on campus and in the community as they strive to bring awareness and implement high impact programs which support the core focus of the sorority. I am confident that my drive for results, positive personality, leadership and ability to collaborate in a team environment aligns well with the sorority’s mission to cultivate and encourage high scholastic and ethical standards, and to promote unity and friendship among college women.

This scholarship was a huge blessing to my family as I would have not able to come to Marist College otherwise. I’m grateful for the chance to attend to college without having to worry about my finances. I would like to thank the Duet family for giving me the opportunity of a lifetime.

I was very happy to learn that I was the recipient of the Auxiliary Personnel Scholarship. I am writing to thank you for your generous financial support towards my higher education.

First off, I want to say thank you to my parents for supporting me. Mom, Dad, thank you for being there with me during difficult times. You support and understand me, this gives me the strength to continue fight through the challenges in life. Without you being here today and by my side, I would have given up. Next, I want to thank the administration. You have all contributed to making this school run smoothly but also have allowed us to have a good time. I, as many others, have enjoyed the monthly walks and fundraising activities, the cultural fashion show and the fun and exciting cultural festival with the live steel bad and African drummers. Mrs. Babb, you are a very loving and an easy person to talk to. You have made so many positive changes to PS124, one of which is allowing us middle schoolers to have student council. You have taken the time to explain assignments, make class interesting, challenge us beyond our knowledge, and inspire not just me, but all of us. I am writing this letter to respectfully ask for your support in helping me become one of the many distinguished cadets at the United States Military Academy. I have achieved so much in my 16 years of life and being appointed into the academy will be very well-deserving and forthcoming to all the amazing opportunities that the academy has to offer. I have worked tremendously hard to obtain a 4.0 gpa and maintain a class rank in the top 100 of my 1000 person class. With your help I can hopefully be appointed as a West Point candidate for the class of 2022.

Thank you for selecting me to receive the Elaine Gold Scholarship. It was an absolute honor to be chosen amongst so many deserving candidates. After years of contemplating, I decided to go back to school and further my education in Nursing. Unfortunately, I did not receive any financial aid and was unsure of how I was going to finance my schooling. I was out of work and struggling to stay afloat. I knew I needed to make a change in my career path if I wanted to live a stable life but I was unsure of how I would make it happen. The moment I received the news that I was awarded the scholarship I knew my life was going to change for the better. The scholarship allowed me to have a second chance in life and I am truly grateful for the opportunity.

I hope my honesty about my academic journey demonstrates that I am a worthy recipient of your scholarship because I have learned success comes from hard work and learning from failure.
