Martin Luther King Jr. was born on January 15 , 1929 and died on April 4, 1968. He was born Michael Luther King Jr. but decided to change his name to Martin. Both Martin Luther’s grandfather and father were pastors of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta. Martin Luther carried on the tradition and served as pastor from 1960-1968 (Nobel Prize, 1). He was a big part of the civil rights movement for his race. In fact he was the most important voice in this movement. Dr. King is know for his nonviolent resistance to overcome injustice. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is a man of great honor who defended the rights of all. He was an activist, a beam of hope and most importantly an inspiration to all. Today he continues to serve as an inspiration and a model to stand up for what we believe in. Dr. King has impacted my life in many ways. Most importantly I have learned from him that I must fight for what I believe in and that there will be sacrifices to make on the way but they will be worth it in the end.

As most people have already known that Dr. Martin Luther King was a great leader during the Civil Rights Movement. He brought many courage to the African American people to gain more Equal Rights and to fight in a non-violence way. During the Civil Rights Movement people began to protest for their equality, including himself, But it has taken many years just so African Americans can get the equal rights they have deserved. Many people still this day still look up after him, and they are encouraged by his words and his victory on Civil Rights.

In a dark world, a time full of hate, hurt, and segregation, a man stood out against those injustices, Martin Luther King Jr.. Martin Luther King Jr. was a very strong activist in the civil rights movement. King was a pioneer of the “no violence” and “no harm” era of protesting. He became a leader for African Americans and whites who opposed the idea of segregation. These people wanted change, they stood together as brothers and as Americans, all led by the great qualities of Martin Luther King Jr.. On the road to civil rights, King had many quotes that had given people hope, trust, and faith and many are still used today.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was an amazing civil rights leader that made the world a better place. When King was young it was a different era and it was way different than what the world was now. From his personal experiences he saw that the world was currently in a bad place and that gave him an opportunity to change it.

The Voting Rights Act re-established laws and regulations regarding who has the right to vote, and the measures in which they could be kept from voting (Voting 1965). King was able to erase the unfair treatment of not only coloured citizens, but also other discriminated groups such as women, and gays. King changed voting forever, he made it so that money and tests did not defer people from voting, and that the implemented laws could actually be monitored by people such as the Attorney General (Voting 1965). King's achievement also translated onto paper. In the state of Mississippi alone voting by African American citizens went up by 53% between the years 1964 where it was 6% to 1969 where the voting turnout was 59% (Miller 2009).

He had so many wrong things happen to him in his life,but he dealt with it and stood up for us. Martin Luther King was also a great leader and some of the traits that he possessed were intelligence, self-confidence, and determination. We can all look up to him because was a very humble man and he loved and forgave everyone. We should all be a little bit more like Martin Luther King Jr.

There are many examples in human history that prove humans to be essentially good. One of those examples includes Martin Luther King Junior. Martin Luther King Jr was an African-American man who believed that every citizen deserves equal rights, even if that citizen has a different skin color. Martin Luther King was known to be " one of the principal leaders of the American civil rights movement and prominent advocate of non-violent protest." He was a calm man who was able to protest without any violence. Martin Luther King felt strongly about his argument but was able to protest in a nonviolent way even while police and other citizens would irritate and annoy him and his supporters. Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK) was born in segregated Atlanta Georgia. He was the son of a committed Baptist minister. His birth place and his family might have helped him being a non- violent person because in a segregated community, the black Americans did not come into direct contact with whit citizens. In his childhood, MLK would have seen some Attitudes that make him angry at the white American society. Martin Luther King Jr. is a well known and an inspiring man to all cultures of the world. King was and still is one of the most influential heroes. King 's views and believes helped African Americans through the 50 's and 60 's to the rights and liberties that was their right. King faced many obstacles on his journey, things like jail and even assassination attempts. Despite these obstacles, he became a successful leader during the Civil Rights Movement and after his death, by guiding African Americans in a non-violent and positive direction for the fight to secure rights and equality for blacks.

Martin Luther King Jr. says “justice too long delayed is justice denied” (King 5). When in Birmingham, Dr. King was put in jail for his illegal actions. He was trying to fight for equal rights among the blacks and whites. The government would not allow him to protest peacefully and accused him of breaking the law. King used the natural law theory to justify his actions in Birmingham, and argued that what he did was the right thing to do. However, I do not completely agree with the natural law theory in that what is natural versus unnatural is ambiguous, and can differ depending on one’s location and past experiences.

Martin, born 1929 in Atlanta, lived his early years on the streets of Sweet Auburn, a neighborhood home to some of the most affluent and prosperous African-Americans in America then. He was raised in a loving Christian middle-class family, who were dedicated members of the community. His mother, Alberta Williams King, was the daughter of Rev. A. D. Williams, who was among the most prominent black ministers of his time, and his father, Martin Luther King Sr., was a devout Baptist minister of the local church, Ebenezer Baptist, who won great respects among both blacks and whites. This secure and comfortable upbringing that his parents provided, however, could not draw King’s attention away from the racism in the world. He was aware of this problem

Martin Luther King Jr. When I think of extraordinary leaders, one of the first people that comes to mind is Dr. Martin Luther King , Jr. Every child in elementary school knows about Dr. King and his dream. But to get to that point he struggled through many challenges and adversity.

Martin Luther King was a very important and very brave man for doing everything he did to get blacks and whites the same rights. Martin Luther King Jr. had been president of the montgomery bus boycott where no african americans/blacks rode on buses. He also made the march on washington. During the march on washington Martin gave his famous “I have a dream” speech. Martin King did many important and memorable things to get blacks and whites the same rights such as The March on Washington and The Montgomery Bus Boycott. In this way I will always remember Martin Luther King Jr. as the man for equal rights.
