Imagine coming home from school to a car fully packed waiting to go to Fort Walton, Florida. Well that's what I came home to on the last day until Spring Break. We will be going to the beach, swimming, fishing, and more when we get there! I was so excited to leave. The car drive was estimated to be only 10 hours. But on the way a lot of other people had the same idea as us on our trip. Traffic was bad on the way down. There were lots of crashes. Believe it or not there was a backup that was like 4 miles. The cars were bumper to bumper and and it was getting late. In about 30 minutes we got about 1 mile. It was awful! With the bumper to bumper traffic there was another crash. That delayed us about 30 more minutes. We all got grumpy because we

During spring break I am looking forward to going to Florida. I am looking forward to going to Florida because I cannot wait to get in the ocean and on the beach. Also I am looking forward to getting to sleep in and not have to go to school. Also in Florida I am looking forward to hanging out with some friends from other schools. Something else I am looking forward to is being in the warm and in the pool. I also cannot wait to get tanner than I already am because I seem pale compared to what I normally look like. Also I am actually looking forward to the plane ride so I can watch my movie and eat some nuts and pretzels. I also cannot wait to get to wear shorts and not be cold. Another thing I am looking forward to during spring break is being
What did I do over winter break? I did so many fun things these past two weeks. I went to the mall with my friend, then he came over to my house, and he gave me a Christmas present.
This spring break was a very important because I was leaving for Chicago. First we went to the Peoria. We arrive at the Peoria airport and we are the only people there until we get to our gate and see at least 70-80 people. It’s gonna be a long flight. We arrive at the O’hare airport and we are late, my parents are freaking out, we have to be in a sports facility that is, over thirty minutes away and we have to be there in twenty. I learned a valuable life lesson that day, and that is to never procrastinate when something very important is present in your life. Me and my parents made that mistake and it will up hurting us in the future.
Do I feel that school should be year round? I feel that school should not be year round. I feel that students and staffs need breaks from each other. I feel students need free time from school and should be able to let their brain rest. I feel that students and teachers need vacation time to leave out of and do things they need to do and want to do. If school was year round I feel the dropout rate would increase, because students will get tired of going to school. I feel that people will have less time to spend with family members and friends.
My 2018 Spring Break was better than usual and began with a great start. For this Spring Break, I went on a Road Trip to visit different college campuses on the northern side of California, a place I had never been to. I went with my program called, LACC Upward Bound that included 34 other students. I did not attend this trip alone and this was great because my friends got to come along on this great experience with me. Arriving to Northern California took about 4- 5 hours and during this drive I took this picture. It is so different from Los Angeles, everything is much greener, beautiful and natural. Our first location was Santa Cruz and the college we visited was UC Santa Cruz. On our way there, I saw many animals like cows, horses, sheeps,
Spring break was for an adventure for me. I did lots of stuff from playing games and watching netflix to camping and exploring. On my first few days of spring break, I just slept in and watched netflix. I personally liked how it started out, i wasn't waking up tired and i was at full power when i woke up. The shows i watched on netflix where walking dead and the OA. Later on in the break i decided to rewatch all the Harry Potter movies and that was one of my favorite part of the break. It took me about 2 to 3 days to watch all 8 movies. After Harry Potter I watched other movies but i mostly Played games like Rocket League and Fortnite. On the last week of spring break i planed last minute camping and sleeping over with my friends in the backyard.
Schools have been around since 1837. The first one was created by Horace Mann. He was also called, “Father of the Common School Movement” (Why was school created?). His idea was to have the teacher create a curriculum to teach to the students. School are still like this today. They’re are based off a curriculum and they must teach it in that school year. Each school year is 180 days within about nine months and three months off in the summer.
Congress has tried making all schools year round because America falls behind other countries academically. This would be fine, but for me and the other kids there are certain needs that year round schools do not understand that they’re lacking. For example, educators need time to prepare for the lessons they need to do for the next school year, taking a break from stress can nullify mental and physical damage to children, and without extended breaks kids they will be burnt out and less motivated by the start of the new year. I feel strongly attached to the sayings of John Lubbock, a famous British philosopher, who said “Earth and sky, woods and fields, lakes and rivers, the mountain and the sea, are excellent schoolmasters, and teach us more
The death penalty in the U.S. is a very serious concern still to this day. Capital punishment is the same exact thing as the death penalty, it is a governed sanctioned practice to put a person to death. The death penalty effects all people whether it be because of the crime the person committed to receive the death penalty or the person’s family. This is a major controversy in the U.S. because some people think that you should not put a person to death or keep them locked up for doing something that is not a norm. While others believe that you must have some type of punishment so that people will be more likely to not commit a horrible crime. When people do commit egregious crimes, like murder or rape, they are to be punished by law if proven
I’ve have always felt like I didn’t know how to appreciate art and comprehend it importance, from individual pieces to art as a culture and field. I am not artistic myself, not in any traditional way, so I have had trouble stepping into the perspective of an artist. Still, I do understand the phenomenon of being moved, and greatly influenced, by art and I have discovered and explored some of the many ways in which it can be expressed. I hope to gain the skill of being able to really understand the depth and technique behind what I see and hear, so that I am able to complete my role as the audience and do the works justice.
The nineteenth century creator made dinstinct climates inside his work, to a limited extent, with many-sided vocabulary. For instance in "Fall of the House of Usher," Edgar Allan Poe portrays the house as being decorated with "phantasmagoric armorial trophies." Using a word as eye getting as phantasmagoric powers the peruser to interruption and take some thought about the sentence. This respite instantly sets a tone for the section and makes the peruser see the points of interest of Poe's story. Another component to Edgar Allan Poe is reiteration. This reiteration guarantees that perusers will consider the more profound significance of his written work and comprehend which ideas are vital in his stories. In "The Tell-Tale Heart," the storyteller,
