“My mother was worried about me, but the Taliban had never come for a girl and I was more concerned they would target my father, as he was always speaking out against them.”
This is the first time in the book that Malala suggests she was somewhat oblivious to her attack. Although she, later on, mentions how she was somewhat afraid of the Taliban attacking her, she mostly thought that if there was an attack that it would be to her father.
2.“‘Who is Malala?” he demanded. No one said anything, but several of the girls looked at me. I was the only girl with my face not covered.”
In Pakistan, females are expected to have every inch of their skin covered but Malala wanted to stagger away from this stereotype and be unique because she felt that her face was

There is a third power stronger than both, that of women.”
I chose this quote because it empowers women. Where Malala comes from women aren't really given the respect and empowerment that they deserve and hopefully, she inspires them to do whatever their heart desires and not care about what society thinks.
13. “Peace in every home, every street, every village, every country – this is my dream. Education for every boy and every girl in the world. To sit down on a chair and read my books with all my friends at school is my right. To see each and every human being with a smile of happiness is my wish.”
To Malala education is everything and she just wants to spread her happiness with others so they can share that happiness with her. Malala’s whole life revolves around equal rights to education and to make that happen would mean everything to her.
14. "Who is Malala? I am Malala, and this is my story."
Malala started her book by using this quote because the Taliban asked who is malala right before they shot her so she's basically using her book to explain who she is since she never got a chance to do that to the
” - Malala Yousafzai, I am Malala “I take it in but don’t look down, `cause I’m on top of the world.” - Imagine Dragons, “On Top of the World.” As a teenage girl who was short in stature and dealt with issues such as not being tall enough to see over a lectern and be in control of a crowd while giving a speech, Malala Yousafzai prayed to her god, Allah for a few extra inches. With her strong words and actions, she stood up for herself and the right to her education. The quote above
Malala Yousafzai is one of the most influential females of this generation. Malala Yousafzai is a women’s education activist from Pakistan. Malala has been through many hardships and difficult situations. Despite society viewing her as weak because of her age, race and gender, Malala has proven to be strong. Malala is both a dynamic and round character. She has this quote that I love, and showed me perfectly how she is a dynamic character. The quote says “It feels like this life is not my life.
cry for him. Initially, Malala was frightened, despite the threats to her family she still realized she was not wrong for wanting an education. For example, Malala thought to herself, “I would hold my head high even if my heart was quaking”(49). This quote shows that she’s ambitious because she didn’t let the Taliban threats stop her from going to school. Another example is when Benazir Bhutto was attacked by terrorists, she realized that no one was safe and in the quote, “I was only ten, but I knew
Chapter 1 Malala (add picture) was blasted in the head by the taliban (add definition and picture) because she stood up for her rights for girls education. I feel that all girls should be able to have an equal right for an education. (add quote) I feel that justice shall be served for all girls in all shapes and sizes they deserve the right to go to school and become more than just a housewife or a made or making rugs. When the taliban shot her in the head lots of people were shocked they figured

In the book To Kill a Mockingbird, Atticus Finch tells his son, Jem Finch, what courage means to him. Malala Yousafzai is an activist, who promotes education for women. When comparing Malala’s life to Atticus’s definition of courage, it is clear that she is full of courage. In To Kill a Mockingbird, Atticus helps Jem understand what courage is not before

Malala Yousafzai is a female education activist from the Middle East and the youngest person to ever receive the Nobel Peace Prize. One of her most famous quotes is, “When the whole world is silent, even one voice becomes powerful.” What does she mean? When put into context, Malala’s quote makes a lot of sense. The Middle East is full of issues; religious wars, women’s oppression, and terrorist groups are just a few examples. Many people living in the area have simply accepted these unfortunate
Did you know successful people are proven to have more courage than those who are not? People who take chances and face their fears are able to gain much more than what they could have lost. A quote from Eleanor Roosevelt defines what courage is: “You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, 'I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.'” In the TEDTalk "Living with
In the book, I Am Malala written by Malala Yousafzai and Christina Lamb, there are several pivotal quotes that help one understand the struggles Malala faced during her lifetime. The struggles Malala faced were to go against the Taliban and fight for the education of all people. A first claim shows how Malala felt about education. “Is education not the right of these children?” (Yousafzai and Lamb 84). At this time, the Taliban felt that girls should not attend school and that they should not receive
Quote One of my favorite quotes from the book is “I don’t want to be thought of as the “girl who was shot by the Taliban.” but the “girl who fought for education.” (Malala Yousafzai 309) This quote was from the epilogue from her book. The epilogue was about her conclusion of the book and how she felt about everything that has happened to her. Malala just wants to fight for the right to education for everyone. She got a Nobel prize when she 17 being the youngest person to receive one. She was grateful
“There are heroes and villains on both sides”. Many recognize this quote from the intro text of Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith. This quote is often found to be true in real conflicts. In Malala Yousafzai’s memoir, I am Malala, she depicts the frequently murky line between “good and evil”, and how military intervention can make us question who the “good guys” are. The fighting between the Taliban and the Pakistani army caused considerable amounts of collateral damage to the local infrastructure
ordinary passengers…” This quote shows that a hero can be among the people on your bus, airplane, or right next to you. Little did this mysterious man know, he would be saving people's’ lives in the next few moments. He probably had no idea that he had such heroic traits stored inside of
From the beginning to the end of Malala Yousafzai’s memoir, I Am Malala, which documents the author’s experience with the Taliban taking over her city, there are several instances that Yousafzai shares to emphasize her struggles in fighting for what she believed was right. These instances include the Taliban threatening her father, and her being shot in the head. Yousafzai realizes her fear of the future when the Taliban threaten her father by leaving a note on his school that many Pakistani girls
strong and hardworking. You are supposed to work for what you want ,you don’t get it done easily. For an example Malala Yousafzai risked her life so that girls can have an education and learn how to read and write and go to school because in her country girls couldn’t attend to schools. In the documentary Malala said “One child, one book, one pen can change the world” (Malala). This quote is stating that with education one child can change the world, any child in that matter can change the world as
Malala Yousafzai once said, “Let us remember: One book, one pen, one child, and one teacher can change the world.” This quote symbolizes my growth in my political standpoint; I did not change my views because of myself, rather I had one class that changed my views. I grew up in a small, mostly Republican town in middle America. I assumed I was a Republican because that was the party nearly all of my town agreed with. I accepted the norm. Then, I left Chillicothe for one summer camp where I learned
