Period 6 Major events that shaped America Over the course of The United States of America, many events have shaped the country both for bad and good. Another such event is the Roaring Twenties. The final event that shaped America was The Great Depression. These are only a few of the many events that can be attributed to be an event that shaped The United States. One event that greatly changed America was WWI. The best part about it was the industry boom. The manufactures gain so much business that they had to create new technologies to manufacture all their demand for the war which ended up creating many more jobs, even for women and African Americans. This is where the good parts of the War end. By the end of the war, 117,465 Americans lost their lives fighting and to disease. World War I marked the end of an empire and the beginnings of sorrow and Depression. For America, it marked the beginning of a new Era.

This era was The Birth of Mass Culture. People had what they thought was an abundance of money because of the Installment Plan; a plan that allowed people to pay for an item over time. This led to people buying so many items and having to pay so little money at a time that they thought they were financially secure. People used this “credit” to buy automobiles (the Ford Model T cost just $260 in 1924) that were considered an affordable luxury with the prices. Pundits during this time even called the new cars “Bedrooms on Wheels” because it allowed people to go practically wherever they wanted. What nobody expected was for this to all come to an abrupt
During the years of 1914-1945 Americans experienced both the best and the worst times in American history. For example, Americans had to deal with two world wars, the great depression, and the great dust bowl, which all caused a great amount of deaths, and have all made a major change in the US economy both good and bad. An important person during this era was Eisenhower, due to the fact that he was president of the united states during a crucial part of the cold war, was the commander of allied forces in Europe, and Africa during WWII, and was the Supreme Commander of NATO. Furthermore, an event that had a major impact at the time on Americans was WWII. It was a gruesome event that took the lives of roughly 60 million people, 6 million of
During the 1920s, America’s economy was terrible. The culture of the 1920s played a big role in causing the stock market crash of 1929. According to the The Roaring Twenties Bubble & Stock Market Crash article, it states “The 1920s marked a decade of increasing conveniences that were made available to the middle class. By and large Americans as a whole were weary of war and looking for a way to put the horrors of the last few years behind them. New products made chores around the home easier and resulted in increased leisure time”. This means the once expensive items were now affordable for middle class because of Americans buying things on credit. This method is described as buy now and pay later. But soon, more Americans used this paying
Americans became disconcerted with the world due to the issues surrounding the wwr and thus developed a policy of isolationism that greaationalism. The causes and effects of the war changed the lives of many people, causing Americtly and negatively impacted immigration to america and immigrants currently living in America America turned
After the end of World War II, the United States went through many changes. Most of the changes were for the better, but some had an adverse effect on certain population centers. Many programs, agencies and policies were created to transform American society and government.
One of the most significant events in the history of America was the American Revolution. It was not so significant because of the number of deaths or the affects it had on America's relationship with Great Britain, but more because of the changes it caused in society socially, economically, and politically.
There are many things that I believe make a huge impact on the America today that I have learned in American History. Three of them are Imperialism, WW1 and the Great Depression. America would not be even close to the same without these three major events.
World War I changed America greatly. It had an obvious effect on the way we handle business on the home front. Propaganda, rationing, and political views all played a part on American citizens in World War I.
World War 1 was a war that lasted from 1914 to 1918 and was a war that involved and was molded around alliances. This war in Europe would eventually turn into a global war that would involve 32 countries. United States involvement was crucial to the outcome of World War 1 and made a serious impact in our country. Both positive and negative effects were felt by Americans during and even long after the war. Mixed feelings were felt from many Americans for entering the war that would affect society.
Every country has it’s own set of laws. Whatever they may be, they should be laws that are able to keep the country together. To keep a country together, these laws must satisfy, help and most certainly protect the people of this country. The United States has been a country that faced hardships, like being under Great Britain’s rule, it was divided into colonies, and it had unjust and unfair laws. This led them to fight for their rights and change these unfair laws so that it can help establish their satisfaction and freedom. After a series of events that occurred, they eventually established three documents that would satisfy, help and protect the people of the United States of America. These documents were The Constitution, The Bill of Rights, and The Declaration of Independence. Of course the events that occurred have made a huge impact on the ideas in these documents. The ones that stick out the most are the Enlightenment thinkers, The
Have you ever wondered what event happened in the 1940’s that had the biggest effect on the United States? Have you ever wanted to know more about the attack on Pearl Harbor? In the 1940’s the attack on Pearl Harbor forced the United States into a war. When the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor in the 1940’s it changed the United States in many ways. There are many events that happened in the 1940’s including the attack on Pearl Harbor.
What historical events impacted American history and the lives of the American people living during a specific time period? The Great Depression, World War II and the Civil Rights Movement greatly impacted the lives of the American people and helped shaped the nation we live in today.
World War I significantly influenced the modern world in which all humanity subsists. The United States of America was altered internally and externally by the Great War. Shadowing World War I America was distinguished as a supreme nation holding great power; subsequently the nation would be redefined politically, economically, and socially.
On April 19, 1775, Americans will never forget when many deaths and historical events occurred allowing the colonist to receive their victoriorous justice. Colonists were frustrated because Britain forced them not to have any representation in the British Parliament. This led to an American battle which had 4,435 deaths involving this event. Although, we lost many lives during this time period, we gained justice and independence from Great Britain, with the help of one of Americas strongests allie; the French. In fact, without assistance, the Americans were no match for Britains; showing the hatred towards the British from the French and Americans, thus, making it easy for them to form an alliance. In 1778, representatives of both America
There are many events that occurred that became the foundation of present day America. The five most important historical events that occurred during American History were: the Renaissance; the European Reformation; the life of George Washington; concept of Manifest Destiny; and racism. These events each had a significant impact that formed the concepts that are used throughout America today; and, if they never happened or happened differently society would have been greatly affected.
America has always been characterized by a spirit of change and reform. These transformations have been social, economic, political, cultural, as well as technological. The industrial revaluation has impacted me personally it has led to the clothes I wear and the food I eat. The manufacturing processes to produce those items were mostly invented during the industrial revaluation. The advent of the personal computer has definitely effected my life I would not be able to have online classes without it.
