Sitting at his desk with the lamp turned down low, Ben watched the shadows flicker softly over Maggie's body lying in the bed across the room, the light casting her hair almost the perfect shade of gold.
Opening the top drawer, Ben pulled out a piece of yellowing paper and a pencil. Laying them on his desk, he gathered his thoughts before leaning forward taking pencil to paper.
Rachel,
I know I shouldn’t be writing you letters, but I can’t seem to help myself. Regardless of our past, your past, I still can’t say that I never loved you.
The kids are good. Danny has only had a few episodes since my last letter, all brought on by his adventures with Charlie, of course. Maggie, the woman who I wrote to you about, can work miracles with him.

She has your bravery and Miles’ everything else. She resents everything from having a stepmother to the color of the sky.
Our village is remotely located for their safety and I’ve tried my best to protect them from the evil that now lives in the world. She’s fourteen and thinks she knows everything, wanting nothing more than to go out into that very world, but how can I let her when that time finally arrives? God only knows what Sebastian would do to her, to find me, regardless of whose child she is and what would happen if she were to discover that the General's mistress is actually her Mother?
I die a little each day, having to lie to our children about so many things. My only consolation if she does leave, is that none of you there will recognize the beautiful woman she’s turning into.
All my love,
Have you ever noticed how some people just stand out from the crowd? Like the clouds in the sky and blades of grass, people are all different. “Everyday Use” by Alice Walker has a good example of an interesting, unique character. Maggie is a young girl who is not only physically but also mentally scarred. The way the burning house, her stuck-up sister, and society affects Maggie makes her different from everyone else.
Thank you for your response and question. I could only hope that her family would notice she was not home. Now, how long would it take? I think maybe a few days depending on if she had things around the house that she had to do. I don’t know any other outcomes that come to mind when Connie is basically being forced in to this guy’s car to be driven to only god knows where to possibly be raped or murdered all because she was getting any kind of affection from her mother and aunt who were too busy comparing Connie to her sister. I wish we could have known how long has the house and Connie’s family been watch by this guy. I kind of wish this story had a better ending or maybe an alternate ending where she was able to get away and get help or Arnold’s
I haven’t thought about my old town in years, and here I am in front of my childhood home preparing myself for what I might see when I walk through this door. As I reached for the handle, the door swung open practically hitting me in the face. Astonished, I stood there utterly astonished. What made me even more surprised was the person opening the door…”Miss Caroline?” She seemed to have not realized me and ran off in a hurry. Least to say that really took my mind off of the whole situation of my father dying.
“William! Get back here! You know that’s Melinda’s land!” Carefree young William raced through the field, closing in on Melinda´s apple orchard. Melinda was the evil fairy who owned 25 acres just outside the town. On her land was an orchard. In this orchard grew the finest apples in all of England. These large, sweet apples were desired by any who laid eyes on them. The only problem was Melinda… She cursed anyone who dared step foot on her land, especially her cherished apple orchard.
Early that morning, newly hired park ranger, Jennifer Flores, stuffed a banana into the blender and mixed up a high energy chocolate drink. Her dark brown hair was pulled back into a ponytail and her face was clean and free of makeup. She was dressed in a black jogging outfit that hugged her body tightly and showed off her shape. She poured her drink into a glass and guzzled it down like she was in a beer chugging contest with her sorority sisters.
Question 5: Some characteristics of each character that review them in good and bad terms can be symbolically expressed in many ways. For example, Mama is a hard working women that has seen a lot of hardship in her life that truly reflects on what she knows and how she uses that knowledge to pass on to her children. This idea can be expressed from the book stating that Maggie knows how to quilt, which was taught to her by Mama and her parents or Maggie’s grandparents. Mama also shows how hardship can lead to good things because they are grateful for the nice things they have in their lowly modified and financed home. Some disadvantage traits that Mama has is the point of fact that she wants to please her children so much that she lets them

Grace tied a piece of twine into a bow around the daisies and balanced the bouquet carefully, so the flowers would hide the death date on the gravestone. She had purposely left the dash between the life and death dates visible. She wanted to see the tiny etching in which her aunt’s life was supposed to have taken place, not that any one person’s life could be fit into a dash. However, in the whole scheme of things, maybe their lives were just a bunch of dashes.
I squeezed her hand and said, “Ok Allie, I think it’s time to talk a bit. Nothing serious... Just light general stuff, OK?” To set the guide lines I said, “Have you heard they are going to stop sending more guys to the moon after these next few tries?” We talked about that for a while. Then it was her turn, she caught on to the idea and said. “Have you heard the new Rolling Stones song?” We talked about things like that for about a half hour, never once mentioning anything even remotely close to the topic that was weighing so heavily on our minds. There were still pauses as a new emotion would suddenly appear from one of us which would cause tears, but we continued with this because we both knew this was an act of reconciliation, and we were teaching ourselves to be together again.
Grass tickles my bare feet, and the sultry night air caresses my skin as I stand facing the forest. With the moon full and glistening over the dew covered greenery, I am enraptured. The gentle breeze wraps around me like a lovers embrace and I am lost to my surroundings. The nights are beginning to cool with the new season and are a welcomed relief to the waning summer heat.
Running through branches and high standing grass, I sprint as fast as my body will move. Insure about how much energy my body has left, I keep pacing a constant speed to catch up to Lennie. As the forest begins to come to an end, there is a lengthy creek that comes to view. Hesitating, I plunge into the water trying to find my dear friend Lennie. Just as I think there is no hope on finding him I see a movement out of the corner of my eye. Thinking it was just an animal, I turn away not even realizing that the animal was Lennie. Lennie, terror- stricken and drizzling, is standing right in front of me. I try to dash toward him, but since my legs are in the water they don’t seem to move quickly. Not even bothered about how slowly my feet are moving I still leap toward him in excitement. Since we were hugging I didn’t even realize that the neighing and running footsteps of the men’s horse were drawing closer to us.
Ryleigh offered me a weak smile as the realisation of what was happening started to sink in. It almost feels like her hand is getting warmer, when in fact mine was just rapidly cooling by the second. I was fading. It's almost time. I didn't want to go, and I could tell by the evident pain in her face that she didn't want me to, either.
I have been watching her for weeks, and today was the big day, the day I took her to become a part of my perfect family. When I first seen her in the flower shop buying Lilly’s I knew she was the best candidate to join my family of flowers. A beauty like her, I knew she just had to be the purest woman to ever exist, could replace my last Lilly any day, it being said, the last Lilly was not as pure as I hoped, and sadly I had to put that beloved family member of mine down. I also wanted her to be Lily because she was the most stunning woman I had ever seen with her chocolatey brown eyes and her short curvy body. Today she was wearing her club clothes, which was a tight dress that was also a little too short, it was a little skimpy, but it was
Now, she must do everything herself because she has become an orphan. Both her parents died in strange ways, she doesn’t know why and she never wanted to learn why. Gorgeous face, light brown eyes,
An elongated car ride was taken to an abrupt halt as hyperventilation commenced. I compelled myself to pull over alongside a gravel road near hiking trails. My heart seemed as if it escaped my body, as it was pounding so profoundly against my chest. The news I had received had changed my life completely. Hot tears appeared instantly upon my cheeks, but my eyes were still.
