That’s all that is too it she claims. The value found in this strategy is that it leaves a lot of free time, and it allows to create a coherent essay. English Composition I has developed my style of writing and my skills analyzing and researching topics to write a piece about a topic. Throughout the course, I got better at analyzing articles and pieces to get the meaning of the topic. With that improved skill I was more able to use the information given from the text and install it into my essays, with proper citation if needed. Before taking the English Composition course, I was not one to organize my essays in an ordeal order to clearly state the point of the work. Now with taking the course, I have learned to organize my essays, examine research for a topic, and develop an essay with proper mechanics, and revising skills. In writing my personal, review, analytical, and cultural
Adam shows audiences how to move from theory to action, no matter who they are or what role they perform. He has an
Overall, Baker uses pathos throughout his article to help persuade his readers. In a book called Models for Writers: Short Essays for Composition, the authors state, “Pathos (Greek for “emotion”) has most to do with audience” (Rosa and Eschholz 552). Looking into Baker’s article, he uses emotions to help relate the readers to him. The author explains, “But I’m a guy, raising a houseful of little guys, and so my thinking isn’t particularly complicated” (Baker). This example relates the readers to Baker’s life, and this allows them to make an emotional connection. Another example is, “I know that Scooter and his pals at their current stage of life would prefer to keep the “no girls allowed” sign on their clubhouse door. And trust me, they don’t
Stephanie Ericsson categorizes the many ways people lie on a daily basis. She uses a mixture of facts, quotes and opinions to capture the severity of telling a lie. Her article has enabled me to understand the thought process that goes behind telling a lie. She justifies minor lies by using ethos and stating that minor lies prevents hurt feelings and that it is normal to lie. Stephanie frequently asks rhetorical questions to make readers think of the matter at hand. She also uses anaphora to seem more relatable and understanding to her readers. I tell minor lies on a daily basis but I did not realize that there is so many different types of lies. i and many other people often rationalize with ourselves to make our lies seem less harmful when
Through the writings of José Martí, a reader witnesses his strong love for justice, virtue, and duty. His writings illustrate, with fantastic diction, Martí’s profound distaste for those who are not virtuous; specifically governments that are not virtuous. The theme that is consistently found in the work of Martí is his belief that the government is ultimately responsible for the acts carried out by its citizens. He believes that the government creates the monsters which it so desperately attempts to eliminate. And, in multiple essays, Martí makes clear that he believes the only way to prevent the acts of these “monsters” is by the government leading its citizens to a life of virtuosity through their own demonstration of such character.
Throughout the novel, Janie waits for men to rescue her from her life rather than her taking action to have a better life and claiming her independence. Janie’s reliance on men is shown following Jody's death when she realizes "that she had a host of thoughts she had never expressed to him, and numerous emotions she had never let Jody know about. ”() Due to the fact that Janie allowed Jody's oppression suppress these "thoughts" and "emotions", and the fact that she only accepted them after his passing, Janie's passivity while in her relationship is exemplified. Janie relies upon death to give her the courage to "find" her suppressed emotions. Janie’s reliance on death is shown here because she is only able to find these emotions inside of herself

Good morning to you. My name is Jholar. I am a pre-dental student that came to Pittsburgh because University of Pittsburgh had the number one dental school in America. Spring of 2015, I was taking two classes which got challenging, so I made a smart move to drop the two classes. I would be more creative and energetic about the essays I actually wanted to write than the ones I didn’t want to; Therefore, I believe I took less time on the ones I wanted to write and more on the ones I didn’t. I don’t know exactly how much time it took me but the topics I enjoyed, it would take me a single night. The ones I didn’t enjoy I would use my technique I learned to just randomly start typing. I would start my paper one day and try to get as much as I could on the paper until I felt I could come back the next day feeling better about it; Therefore, the topics I didn’t like usually took me two.
I have been writing since I have been in Middle School. I have realized that by college it was easier for me to write down my thoughts in order for me to remember what I have said or done. Writing out my thoughts gives me a sense of recollection, knowledge, and pacification that gets me through my day. I pictured writing to be as simple as jotting down a few sentences, but as I got farther in school I realized that there is more to it than just writing sentences. English has been my most difficult subject I have ever endured, but I have somehow been managing to make excellent grades and achieving all requirements. First in the essay, I will discuss my experiences in the English life that I’ve taken so far up until college. The second part will list my struggles in creating a thesis, a work cited, and properly citing my sources used in the papers.
