Tommy C. Douglas, a politician, Baptist minister, premier of Saskatchewan and first leader of the NDP party was the greatest Canadian. His family had provided a strong background for politics. When he had moved to Canada in 1919, he witnessed the Winnipeg General Strike. From there on, he became a Baptist Minister and the Premier of Saskatchewan in 1944.

William Lyon Mackenzie King was born on December 17th, 1874 in Berlin Ontario Canada. He went to Berlin Central School and Berlin High School in his academic youth. King studied in the University of Toronto, and then majored in economy at the University of Chicago, and finally Harvard University. He got his Ph.D. in 1909. Mackenzie King began his career in politics long before finishing school.

Caitlin is a 16 year old high school girl who lives with her mom and dad. She also has a sister named Cassie who was supposed to be going to Yale but quit and went to live with her boyfriend in New York. Caitlin meets a boy named Rogerson at a party and they start going out, she is not very happy about the choices that he makes but is so in love she would not leave him. Caitlin starts falling back on school, family and cheer team, which she quit because Rogerson says that she isn’t spending enough time with him. Soon they breakup because Rogerson starts beating Caitlin that she has to go to the hospital. After Rogerson and Caitlin were done Caitlin says “After everything that happened, how could I miss him? But I did, I did”.

When taking the time to review the early beginnings of Canadian history through the events that would go onto lead to confederation, it is possible to realize the intent that is found in regards to the founding of the country from being a collection of colonies for the British Empire. This all in all establishes and investigation to the economic, social, political, and environmental events/ideas to go on to understand the nature of the formation of Canada, as well as the influences that would go on to the development of the national identity.
