The term MICE in literal terms is an acronym for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences/Conventions and Exhibitions. MICE tourism combines business with pleasure. Market segmentation came into existence with the thought that one size doesn’t fit all. A heterogeneous market is divided and viewed as several homogeneous markets. It is an essential aspect of marketing in industrialised countries. Goods are no longer produced or sold without considering customer needs and the heterogeneity of those needs.
a) Nature and Purpose of Market Segmentation
Purpose of Market Segmentation
The main purpose of market segmentation is to allow a market or the marketing program to focus on the prospects that are most likely to purchase the product or service. The focus of marketing strategy and force on the subdivision or market segments to gain competitive advantage within the segment. It is not possible to sell everything to everyone in today’s competitive world. Each customer has different needs, wants, tastes, preferences and purchasing power. For example, Kellogs have different type of cereals for kids and adults. For kids they have Kellogs chocos and for adults they have Kellogs wheat flake cereals.

The last half of the book continued to follow Cece working on making friends and dealing with how she feels about her hearing. She also moves and makes a new friend, Martha. She also makes friends with her neighborhood children. Martha is a grade below her and they get along great. Cece assumes that Martha doesn’t know that she is deaf, because it is summer and they aren’t in the same class together in school and hasn’t seen her wearing the Phonic Ear. However, she does know and simply doesn’t care. The neighborhood kids are also kind to her and there is a neighbor boy Mike Miller that she has a crush on. All is well until Martha hurts Cece’s eye and panics. Her eye heals but Martha is still too afraid to be around

I chose to analyze the fairytale of The Country Mouse And The Town House. The character archetypes in the short footage was a country mouse that lived an average lifestyle whereas on the other hand the town mouse had a fancy outfit that resembles well-off. Both town and country mouse are the main characters. The country mouse archetype is a less fortunate character. On the other hand, the town mouse is more wealthy then the country mouse.
According to Horner and Swarbrooke (2005: 39), Segmentation may be defined as the process of dividing a whole market into subgroups or segments for marketing management purposes. Market segmentation is the division of the overall market for a service into various categories with common characteristics. In response to different segments, organisations facilitate the available resources to achieve greater efficiency, in order to satisfy specific needs of customers.

I read the story of the Mice Who Lived in the Piano. In comparison to current culture, I believe that this story shows how people may have different opinions or ideas. It shows that sometimes what people believe in for so long can be entirely different in reality. People can go their entire lives believing in something such as religion, politics, tradition, or even family beliefs and one day find out that it could all be a lie or something entirely different than what they believed. Later in the story it’s explained how one of the mice sought out to find the truth, which I believe relates back to people who ask questions and they try to seek out deeper meaning to something. Then in the story it says that the entire idea of a human playing the

My mousetrap car, of course, was going to run into multiple problems from friction to loose wheels, from short work times too long hours researching, but I am proud of the final product created. Some of the problems I ran into were the two types of frictions that affected my car and caused me to go back to the drawing board, the two frictions being rolling friction and sliding friction. Rolling friction was caused by the wheels of the car having bad traction and my wheels being too heavy, while sliding friction was caused by the axle on the front and back rubbing against the body of the car. Friction would also cause my car to slow down, and there were plenty of times when the string used for my car to start was worn down pretty fast by the
Market segmentation is the division of a market into different groups of customers with distinctly similar needs and products or service requirements (Croft, 1994). Its major purpose is to pull scarce resources and ensure that the elements of the marketing mix, price, distribution trends, products and promotion are premeditated to satisfy the particular needs of the different customer groups. City Grill’s main approaches to market segmentation, could include using the breakdown method where they can view the market as to consist of consumers who are in essence the same, having similar tastes, and so forth. Their duty could only be to identify groups which share particular differences. Alternatively they
As every customer has unique needs and expectations towards certain products, the ultimate goal of market segmentation is to organize customers into groups which allows targeting of customers with similar needs of and response to the products. Segmentation is a tool; purpose is to choose target market.Segmentation comes prior to target market Many different tasks are involved other than segmentation when choosing target market Look at each segment on its own as an individual marketing opportunity. Potential worth of each segment To examine whether the whole market should be chosen or only few segments To find segments which are less satisfied in market from competitor brand.

The marketing segmentation concept allows a company to focus on a specific group of customers that it is best prepared and suited to satisfy. Rather than trying to be all things to all people, selecting a target market enables a company to tailor its offerings to more specific customer needs and preferences (Schewe & Hiam, 1998, p. 200). When a company focuses its efforts and capital (both tangible and intangible) on a more narrowly defined set of needs, it is more likely that the customers will get the product they desire. Companies that use the marketing segmentation concept typically have a more intimate knowledge of the customers they target, and customers usually relate better with companies that understand their interests. As such a relationship is built.
By using Marketing strategy, organizations concentrate their resources on the greatest opportunities to increase sales and maintain a competitive advantage in its market (Wickipedia, pg1).Market segmentation is the process companies use to divide their market into groups of buyers and establish marketing tailored to individual groups. Market targeting is the process of actually choosing the market which poses the greatest profitability. Positioning involves product placement and helps marketers highlight their product over a competitor. The
