I blame Lord Caballet for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. Lord Capulet (Juliet's dad) is the cause of the tragedy because he is pushy about the marriage to Paris. In doing that, Juliet felt like she had no escape from her parents' life they were making for her, and she wanted to be with Romeo. She wanted to be with him so badly Juliet would take her own life for him. Why I think Lord Caballert is the blame for the cause of Romeo and Juliet's deaths. He threatens to disown Juliet if she does not marry Paris. In doing that, Lord Capulet isn't thinking for Juliet. He is being selfish. Here are directed quotes. Lord Capulet says “I tell thee what-get thee to church a Thursday or never after. look me in the face." And, also says “to go with Paris to Saint Peter’s Church or I will drag thee on a hurdle”. …show more content…
After all, he has killed Tybalt, and just been banished for doing that. Now Juliet feels like she has no escape from her family's ways, and Juliet, faced with Romeo's dead body in front of her, feels like the only way now is to kill herself to be with Romeo. Now I can see if you think Lord Capulet is not to blame because he was looking out for his daughter. In making sure that she has a husband that will love, and care for her, and making sure that she will keep her family bloodline going. He might think that Romeo is a bad influence on his daughter because he has just killed her cousin, and been banished, and thinks that Romeo is a bad person, and only wants bad things with his daughter. Lord Capulet is still to blame. After all, in doing that, he wasn't thinking about whether his daughter liked Paris; he only cared about keeping his bloodline going. Not caring if she is not happy with him and doing that he is selfish, and harsh on
Everyone has their different opinions on who is to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. Romeo and Juliet is about two people that fall in love from two different families who are in a feud with each other. Lord Capulet is to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet because when Romeo was at the Capulet part he didn’t let Tybalt do anything to make Romeo leave. Reason two is he is the one that planned for Juliet to get married to Paris without her consent. The third reason is because after Juliet says okay to marrying Paris (going along with the Friar’s plan), Lord Capulet tries moving the wedding day up to Wednesday instead of Thursday.
Lord Capulet’s Hypocrisy Lord Capulet is not a good father because he does not listen to or consider Juliet’s opinions. When Juliet says she will not marry Paris, Capulet responds saying, “Doth she not count her blest, / Unworthy as she is, that we have wrought / So worthy a gentleman to be her bridegroom” (Shakespeare 3.5.143-145). He thinks he has brought her a man worthy of her, but she does not want to marry him because she is already married to Romeo.
Lord capulet, who was juliet’s father was very unsupporting. After the death of Tybalt lord Capulet thought something happy should occur in this family. Lord Capulet and his wife, Lady Capulet, promised Paris Juliet’s hand in marriage. Lord Capulet wanted to disown on Juliet when she had told that she had no intention in marrying Paris. For example, “Hang thee...hilding!”. (3.5, 180-189). Lord Capulet was being very unsupportive of his daughter's desires. If he had not forced Juliet to marry Paris, then Juliet would not have had to find a way out of the marriage. In the end when Romeo and Juliet are found dead, Lady MOntague is also dead, because of her son Romeo. Lord Capulet could have prevented the death of Romeo, Juliet and Lady
When Lord Capulet first finds out that Juliet doesn't want to marry Paris, he is frazzled. He tells Lady Capulet,”... Doth she not count her blest... So worthy a gentleman to be her bride?”(3.5.143-145). Lord Capulet is confused on why she would not want to marry this man that
Old Capulet should be punished. Old Capulet is forcing Juliet to Marry Paris against her will. “I think she will be ruled/ In all respects by me; nay, more, I doubt it not” (Shakespeare 111.vi.13-14). This quote shows that he should be punished because he is telling Paris that she will respect him and do anything he says. The next reason Old Capulet should be punished is… Old Capulet is Disowning Juliet when she will not marry Paris. “I tell thee what- get thee to church a Thursday/Or never after look me in the face”(Shakespeare III.v 161-162). Old Capulet is making her go away if she does not marry someone he wants, but she does not.
Lord Capulet was responsible for the deaths of his daughter and Romeo due to his extremely unsupportive nature when it came to Juliet and her decisions, and the aggression and the amount of violence that occurred between His family and the Montagues. The third character that is responsible for the tragedy that occurred is Lord Montague, he is at fault for ignoring the feud between his family and the Capulets and not doing anything to try and stop the violence or resolve the feud, which ultimately was the reason for Romeo and Juliet's tragic end. Tybalt is another character who greatly bears responsibility for the untimely deaths of Romeo and Juliet. Tybalt’s short temper and lack of thinking his actions through before performing them caused him to get into multiple brawls with the Montagues over nothing, and this hotheadedness caused him, Romeo and Juliet to meet their
When Juliet refuses to marry Paris, a prince, Capulet becomes extremely angry. He storms into Juliet’s room and verbally abuses her in front of her nurse as well as her mother. Capulet tells Juliet that if she does not marry Paris she will be disowned and discarded into the streets to fend for herself. This is extremely significant because if Capulet had decided to consult and listen to Juliet’s views on the prince before granting Paris permission to marry his daughter Juliet would have not felt forced to take the sleeping potion which eventually caused the death of not only Juliet, but Romeo as well resulting in a ripple effect. Both Friar Lawrence and Capulet can be blamed for the death of Romeo and Juliet due to the fact that they both did not seem to consider the possible consequences of their wrongfully done
Lord Capulet is the most responsible for Romeo and Juliet’s deaths because he held hatred for Montagues and took away his daughter’s freedom. Firstly, the
Despite popular debate as to who caused the deaths of Romeo and Juliet, many might argue that it’s the Capulets or Juliet’s fault, and are they right? What led to both Romeo and Juliet’s deaths was mostly their family and their beef with each other; however, what led to Romeo and Juliet’s deaths was someone who had made poor decisions and had love issues. The person to blame for what is happening in the entire story of Romeo and Juliet would be Romeo, since Romeo in the story can be somewhat obsessed, weird, cause problems, and be irresponsible around others. Romeo is the one responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet because he caused problems, was always attached to his love interest, and was irresponsible for his actions. Firstly, Romeo
Then, Juliet wakes up to find Romeo dead and ends up killing herself with Romeo’s dagger. I believe that Lord and Lady Capulet, Juliet’s parents, are to blame for their deaths. They did many things that caused the two lovers to end up killing themselves. One of the reasons I believe Lord and Lady Capulet are to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet is
If you have ever read the play, Romeo and Juliet, written by William Shakespeare, you have most likely heard the question, “Who is to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet?” The play Romeo and Juliet is about two star-crossed lovers who fall in love but are not supposed to because of their family feud. Unfortunately, Romeo and Juliet end up dying at the end of a tragic play. The top people who would be blamed for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet are Romeo and Juliet themselves, Friar Laurence, and Lord Capulet. Although, characters such as Tybalt, Mercutio, and Nurse Capulet had quite a bit to do with the deaths of Romeo and Juliet; the characters mentioned above have much more to do with the deaths of Romeo and Juliet.
Capulet was also to blame for the reason that, he forced Juliet to get married. If Capulet would have let Juliet make her own decisions she could possibly still be alive. “Hang thee, young baggage! Disobedient wretch! I tell thee what: get thee to church o’ Thursday, or never after look me in the face:” (DBQ: Project, 2013) Capulet is telling Juliet if she does not get married to Paris she will be kicked out of the home, back then women had no rights, therefore Juliet had to obey her father’s
Lord Capulet’s Mistake Lord Capulet in the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare made the bad decision to marry off his daughter, Juliet, to Count Paris while she was unwilling to devote. This led to the consequence of his daughter’s life. This could have been avoided by allowing Juliet to be happy and make her own decisions. Lord Capulet remarked if she would not marry, he would disown her and be happy to see her begging in the streets.
Lord Capulet is one to blame because he is extremely selfish. He was arranging Juliet's marriage without asking for her approval: “O’ Thursday let it be.-
Capulet is the one to blame because he is the one to consolidate with Count Paris to arrange a wedding for his daughter Juliet leading to the Climax of the story. After the fighting and complaining from Romeo, Count Paris, and Capulet meetup and discuss Paris marrying Juliet. Capulet at the time was reluctant and told Count that his daughter is too young for marriage, therefore, told him to wait for the right time and his permission will vary without Juliet’s decision. “And too soon marred are those so early made Earth hath swallowed all my hopes but she. She’s the hopeful lady of my earth But woo her, gentle Paris, get her heart. My will to her consent is but a part. An she agreed within her scope of choice.” (1,2,15) Capulet has all the power in the family to marry his daughter to anyone. Since he knows that Count Paris wants to marry her Capulet has the ability to let Paris marry Juliet at any given time and would let him when he thinks Juliet is ready. He said so himself “She hath not seen the change of fourteen years. Let two more summers wither in their pride Ere we may think her ripe to be a bride.”(1,2,10). Capulet is still yet to be proven that he was the
