My short-terms goals all lead to my long-term goals. By the end of my senior year, my main priority, like any other senior, is to wear my cap and gown, walk across the stage, and receive my high school diploma. To accomplish this goal, I must continue excelling in school with all A’s and maintaining my diligent study skills. I also need to take as many dual enrollment courses at Clayton State University as possible in order to shorten my time in college. After graduating, the next leading goal is to get accepted into either Emory University or University of Georgia, but preferably Emory. Should Emory accept me, then I definitely need to apply to and receive scholarships like Gates Millennium and Zell Miller, for example. In addition, I desire to preserve my current rank as the salutatorian. Perhaps if I persevere more, then I could possibly graduate as the valedictorian. To do this, I can always study harder and receive tutoring about topics I do not completely comprehend. Also, somewhere along the lines, I hope that can obtain a job as a …show more content…
In order to accomplish this, first and foremost, my short terms goal of graduating high school needs to be achieved. From there, I need to attend Emory University and graduate within four years with a bachelor’s degree in biology and possibly psychology. Then, I anticipate utilizing these degrees to attend Emory Medical School where I will focus my studies towards forensic science. Upon completion of medical school, hopefully within four years as well, I expect performing residency training for approximately three years at Emory Medical School, and then I will attend a year of fellowship training for forensic pathology. During all of these years of education, I plan on remaining focused towards studying for my classes, employed as a certified nursing assistant, and involved in extracurricular
First, I will make the most of my education, so that I can be better equipped to help others in the future. I would like to go through medical school and continue my educational path into research. There have been major advancements in gene-editing technologies such as the CRISPR Cas9 system, which, once improved, could revolutionize the science of medicine. This system was developed from the immune systems of bacteria, and works by using homology-directed repair or/in addition to non-homologous end joining to delete portions of DNA. Cas9 is a protein that couples with an RNA sequence to form a complex, which searches through DNA and looks for a DNA sequence to match the RNA one. Once it finds it, Cas9 cuts
As a prospective Biology major and Veterinarian, I hope to gain experience working with plants and animals in the field of Biology and consider internships with veterinarians. I plan to put my experience and qualifications to use by applying for an accredited veterinary college. Upon acceptance, I will strive towards earning a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (DVM). If I do not gain acceptance into a veterinary medicine program, then I will steer myself more towards the forensic science fields. A degree and certification in veterinary medicine is appealing and preferable to me. However, to keep my options open, the field of forensic science and crime scene investigations will serve as
I know that the sky is the limit when it comes to nursing fields but I have a sincere interest in mental health. I thoroughly enjoyed my clinical day at the Pavilion although I did recognize that the Nurses spend a lot of time charting which depleted my interest a bit. However, I do know that you can work in other settings I can work in especially if I continue my education to a master’s or doctoral level. Becoming a Psychiatric Mental Health Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (PMH-APRN) would allow me to prescribe certain medications (depending on the state’s law I live in) and administering psychotherapy. (American Psychiatric Nurses Association, 2015) However, these are potential long-term goals! Let’s talk about short-term.
A long term goal is a goal that you wish to accomplish in the future. Long term goals require time, planning, dedication, and rescilience. Having a long term goal is important for a successful career in the future. One of my long term goals is to become a prosperous private practice lawyer. This is important to me because it will show my siblings and other minority children that no matter the circumstance or pressure put on them by society anything is possible. They can be successful.
My short-term goals primarily focus on integrating myself into the wildlife community. To me, this means becoming a member of an esteemed organization such as the Wildlife Society and interact with influential people, absorb as much information as I can concerning programs such as R, SAS, and GIS, publish scientific papers to propagate my reputation, and obtain a preliminary position as a wildlife biologist or technician to gain real-world experiences. Once I have completed the course work and experience necessary to qualify as a certified wildlife biologist, I will be able to move on to my long-term goals. At this point in my life, I will have a clearer idea of what my niche is, whether it means I work towards a promotion in an organization
Organizations, groups, churches, etc. all have a vision and mission. As a graduate student, I have come up with a vision and mission statement that are motivational in my success. My vision as a MHA student in graduate education at Belhaven University is to remain curious, creative and a thinker who will remain courageous as I develop the servant leadership knowledge offered, that will allow me the opportunity to be a valuable Healthcare leader who can work both independently and collaboratively. I will face many challenges with an open mind and seek answers and ways to improve the changing arena of Health Care. As a graduate student I would like to expand my knowledge and my discovery of the health
Discuss your short and long-term goals. Are some of them related? Which are priorities? Be specific in describing short and long-term goals you may have. Provide examples from any aspect of your life. In addition, if you have already accomplished some short or long-term goals you set for yourself in the past, you can discuss them
My short-term goal is to use the knowledge and experiences I have acquired as an undergraduate, coupled with the competitive coursework of the biology department as a catalyst for positive change. My long-term goal is to direct a multicultural health program that assists low-income communities in becoming more knowledgeable of their healthcare options. I think that as an aspiring physician practicing osteopathic medicine, I would be in the position to positively impact socioeconomically disadvantaged communities.
In my near future, I am leaning towards attending the University of Indianapolis mainly because of the strong DPT program they offer to their students. I have been accepted and have had the honor of being a direct admission into the DPT program offered at the University of Indianapolis. I found my career choice with my mixture of strong academic and athletic performances. I have plenty of first person accounts of rehabilitation to muscles and bones from sports injuries, and I have become curious about other types of injuries that a physical therapist would encounter outside of sports injuries. At the University of Indianapolis, I plan on majoring in Biology and excelling in all my courses, especially my prerequisites.
My first top short term goal is to survive basic training and be the top of my class. I plan on reaching this goal by being mentally and physically prepared in what I may encounter and this also includes following orders from a drill sergeant or any sergeant in general some roadblocks I may encounter is my mind set or people around telling me to give up and just quit when situations get stressful in basic training. My second short term goal is to transform my body to look and feel better of myself, I plan on reaching this goal by working out every day, eating healthy and not give up. Some road blocks I might encounter is again people doubting me telling me I can’t do it and temptations of eating junk food around me. My last short term goal
My academic and career goals involve rigorous schooling, in which I am confident I will perform exceptionally well. I will be attending the University of Iowa to double major in business management and political science on a pre-law track. The college classes I have already completed in high school will allow
My goals are to graduate high school, attend a 4-year university and attain a bachelor’s degree, then, use my education to become successful with that degree. I will reach those goals by working hard these last few months of high school and carry the traits I’ve developed these past four years, into college. I’ve gained many traits from school and sports that correlate well with college and success; such as a strong
Setting personal goals in my life are important to me because I want to strive for personal
Throughout my high school career I have been able to accomplish several of my personal goals. One of the goals that I accomplished was being on the honor roll every nine weeks throughout my four years of high school. With maintaining a spot on the honor roll, it has earned me a grade point average of a 3.214 out of a 4.0 scale. Another goal that I accomplished for myself was, being able to participate in school actives such as the varsity scholastic bowl team and the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America. This was an accomplishment for me because while I was participating in these organizations, I was also able to give back to my community and the people in it. The last accomplishment that I have achieved throughout my high school career, was being able to gain acceptance into the college of my dreams, that I will be attending in the fall of 2016.
One of my academic goals is to graduate high school with an honors diploma and increase my G.P.A to a 4.3 at the end of my eighth semester. After I graduate from high school I want to attend Western Nevada College to earn my associate’s degree in criminal justice. When I have accomplished that I will transfer to the University of Nevada, Reno to study criminology. When I have finished my studies I want to obtain a job in the government so I can help victims and their families get the justice they deserve.
