My palms were sweating, my heart was racing, I had no idea what to expect or who I was going to meet. I was never the type of girl to embrace new situations, I hated change and I wasn’t very good with meeting new people. I figured once I got to high school it would be my chance to start all over, turn the page in my book of life, and flip over a new leaf. I wanted to finally be the girl that fit in with everyone. I had imagined myself going to parties with big groups of my new friends, having sleepovers and doing all of the things cool high school kids normally do. I was certain that my high school career would be just like one of those really corny teen movies and I would live happily ever after with the homecoming crown and the boy of my
In this summary, Mike has his eyes opened to the world, and he explains his feelings and emotions. He wants to make the point that, no matter the struggle, if people only keep pushing for what they want, they will achieve excellence. Going to school was something big for both Mike and Anthony, and both learned some very important lessons from their experiences during their enrollment. Also, there is a lesson that Mike also learned about how people are not going to use their minds, unless they try to experience the lives of others. People in everyday life are more distracted than they lead on to be. They need to open their eyes, and see what is right in front of them

Society contributes to how people treat others with non-normative bodies. Race is a part of the physical features that contributes to how a person is viewed. In the texts The Monster and The Story of My Life, Henry Johnson and Helen Keller faced different treatments from their peers because of their different racial backgrounds. During the summer of 2014 I was given a summer reading assignment. That reading assignment was to read to books called “The Life of Pi” and “How to read Literature like a Professor”. The story that best describes the letters that we are reading in class is “The Life of Pi”. The reason why I say this is because in the story there is survival, friendship, and boat sailing.
Victor Frankenstein's creature was meant to display power and knowledge, but ended up showing his fear and regret of the monster he had developed. Everybody strives for power and money and confidence, which is what Frankenstein really had in mind. His motives for this creation were strong, keeping success in mind, however, the end result was too big of a challenge for him. The apparent fear that Frankenstein produced showed a lack in confidence. He designs what is to be a super-human, but is left with something bigger than himself.
Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein tells a story about the creation and the destruction of a man considered by society to be a “monster”. In the novel, there is profound meaning to be found in the monster’s self-education. Patterned after the evolution of human learning, the monster’s spontaneous learning proceeds through major stages. First, is the accidental discovery of fire, this is followed by a realization by the monster that knowledge yields power.
