The Young Lords began as a Puerto Rican turf gang in the Lincoln Park, Chicago neighborhood of Lincoln Park in the fall of 1960 and as a civil and human rights movement on Grito de Lares. The Young Lords' supported independence for Puerto Rico, and all Latino nations and oppressed nations of the world and also neighborhood empowerment. This was shown by their emblem of the map of Puerto Rico and a brown fist holding up a rifle and the purple lettering reading, "Tengo Puerto Rico en mi Corazon" ("I have Puerto Rico in my heart"). Puerto Rican and Latino self-determination, and increasing repression of the group is what caused them to form the Young Lords. In order to increase property tax revenues, they were evicted from areas near the Loop, lakefront, Old Town, Lakeview and Lincoln Park, which were all Puerto Ricans and several Mexican communities at that time.

have you ever been at recess and it's over in a blink of an eye? The subject I will be discussing is if we should get more time at recess. The issue I chose is relevant because kids doesn’t get enough time in recess. The purpose or reason why I chose to discuss this topic is, because we need more time to get to the places we need such as a class or office. I am a credible speaker because of how this issue affects me. this issue affects me because I am a kid who wants and needs more recess. I think we should have longer recess, because we need more time to go to the places we need to go. we can socialize more with friends. Then we can get ready for the next class.
The criminal justice system can sometimes seem unfair because of the way juveniles are being sentenced. In many cases the question is whether or not to send a child to prison for the rest of his life for commiting a crime. The sentencing of a minor to life in prison is detrimental to society because it's like taking away two lives instead of one. One being the life of the victim and the other being the young criminal who may have been too young to know what he was actually doing. Kenneth Young is an example of how cruel the justice system can be to juveniles because at only 15 years old he was sentenced to life in prison for armed robbery.
At Damien Memorial School, what makes us different from other schools is that we all act as one big family. The reason why I say this is because when you look at Damien students you see a lot of people from all over the island, the kids at the school bring so much talent and they are so smart. All students from all over came together as one and became friends. Me and my friends come from all over the island such as waipahu, kaneohe, waianae, and nanakuli. All my friends bring something new to the table, we all come from different ethnic groups and different ways we were born and raised. But there is one thing that brings us all together and that is Football, we all play ball and that brings us together as one big family, That part of us helped our team win back to back D2 state championships. Being brothers and getting to know each other and always spending time with each other, made us feel like we are a family, we always told each other whats going on and we always have each others back.
The youth juxtapose their personality with their morals at a young age. Babies absorb most of their knowledge by the age of five. Within five years of life they technically learn everything. And it would appear the rest of their life is sorting that data and living it out. Ethan’s youth is my priority. A child's mind absorbs more than an adult’s. A successful quarterback spends more time watching film than playing on the field. I want to teach him how to watch the film before he ever plays a down.
Recess is an important amount of time for kids in school. Recess is a time in a kids school day where you go outside and have fun and play. It has been argued that some people disagree for kids to have recess. However, recess should be a part of all kids school day because recess helps create social and other developments for kids. Also, recess helps kids pay attention in class.
I believe that the position as a youth activities coordinator would be extremely beneficial in my professional development in the future. The reason that I say this would be because it will allow me to improve my communication skills such as being able to interact and speak with a variety of groups ranging from adults to children. Also, it would allow me to demonstrate my leadership skills throughout different events, which is something important because in events people are needed to encourage children or adult to participate in the event as well as keep everything in well and in control throughout the event. Another thing that I would take from this would be to improve my professional development would be to be more observational, which would
