Today, I am going to talk about the life of a historical figure. The figure I wanted to talk about is Le Quy Don. My high school's name was named after his name. He was a distinguished philosopher, poet, and encyclopaedist. He was born in 1726. He was responsible for a large number of encyclopaedic, historical and philosophical works. I admire him because of his sharp wit and wide knowledge. Now, I'll move on to an interesting story about him. Still a child, he created a poem, using words with double meanings to describe the characteristics of different types of snakes. the poem can also be interpreted as a lazy student's self-accusation and promise to study harder. Thank you for

At the Día De Los Muertos event there were many people especially Hispanic families. Across the event, there was a museum that had arts of people dressed at Aztecs, Día De Los Muertos skeletons, a big altar, and painted skulls. The museum was not big, but showed some historical moments of the Día De Los Muertos. They also showed the culture being alive. Inside the event there were also quite a lot of volunteers that seemed to be from the high school that was hosting the event. Furthermore, we managed to see ABC7 news at the event which surprised us. We saw them interview some people from the event. The volunteers on the other hand, were either helping people sell food, paint people’s face, or ask people if they want to donate some change. They
In this paper, I will compare two of my favorite stories from Trickster: Waynaboozhoo and the Geese and How Alligator Got His Brown, Scaly Skin. These two stood out from the others as strong tales with clear and powerful messages. After I compare the two plots, I will discuss the relevant parts of the respective cultures from which these stories originated.
Yaez Mon was a small island that had little to no contact with the European states until the 1400’s. Although it was close enough to see from Europe, nobody really payed attention to it until the continent began colonizing the “new” world. Yaez Mon was colonized by Great Britain under the rule of Henry VIII, in 1515. The people of Yaez Mon (Monians) did not take lightly to this invasion after a few years of oppression took to the streets and rioted in what is now known as “The Ten Year Rebellion.” This revolutionary period led to Britain retreating and a constitutional republic formed led by rebellion kickstarter, George Smithe.

The Hispanic culture values children’s turning of age just like the American culture does. In American culture, teenagers can buy cigarettes and lottery tickets at age eighteen. At age sixteen, most American teens (depending on the state) can get a permit and begin to learn to drive. In Hispanic culture, fifteen is the chosen age; they value the girl’s fifteenth birthday because that is the age that they believe the young girl changes and becomes an adult, a woman. When the girl celebrates her fifteenth birthday, they celebrate by having a big turning-of-age ceremony and reception which they call a Quinceñera. The Quinceñera is a big event, almost like a wedding for the young girl.

Hi Micquaya. When I think of mental health itself, I do not automatically think of people that are suffering from a psychological issue. Mental health to me is just your psychological status. Mental illness causes me to think a psychological issue. The two are not the same in my eyes. Mental health is just as important as physical health. Physical health is just the status but if I were to say a physical disability it is completely different. The ways to promote good mental health are numerous. Taking care of your body is definitely a good way. Many times our mental status is directly related to our physical health. I know for me, it is hard to think clear when I do not get enough sleep.
El día de los Muertos, also known as, Day of the Dead, is celebrated starting on October 31st, Halloween, and ends on November 2 of each year. It is a Mexican holiday, primarily a Catholic holiday, celebrated throughout Mexico, the Central and South regions. The significance of this celebration is prayer and remembrance of friends and family members who have died. In the United States, starting salaries for teachers who have completed a four-year degree are far lower compared to many other professions, which also require a four-year degree. In most states, teachers must undergo testing and other rigorous certification requirements, but they are given the same consideration or status as beginning professionals in other areas. Although attractive incentives are offered, the compensation does not compare to the long hours of work and schooling required for a teaching career.
