Since my business administration degree is a Bachelors with 4-year education it stated that I would be able to work in sales environments along with being a manager for many businesses. Further, the test stated even an air traffic controller, which requires a lot of responsibility not only on you but on the people who you have to manage. As far as my targeted field, this puts me right on point, on the other hand, it is telling me I may be setting my sights too low on being a Customer Service Manager. I have been finding out I may want to examine other areas for me to check for potential
Early in their career, many people find it difficult to nail down a specific area of focus. They may be interested in a lot of things, including owning a business or managing a business. As a result, a general business degree makes sense. Instead of wasting valuable time enrolling in school as undecided, they can spend their
After taking the FOCUS 2 quizzes and completing the worksheet, I learned about a few of my career options. I have already chosen a degree plan, and know what direction I want to go in, but I am not sure of the specifics. The FOCUS 2 Career Exploration Worksheet helped me to discover some of those specifics.
Create a "career map" as you think about your next career move and learn as much as you can. After you have researched specific occupations and decided on your goals, you need to research. Identify credible sources of information for your target profession and identify the academic requirements and experience you will need for the job you want. Research career-focused undergraduate and graduate programs. Make a "gap analysis" after you've identified the skills experience and knowledge you already have that you would need for your future career. A gap analysis will help you figure out what you still need to learn and do. Make a plan to close those gaps to ensure you can meet the requirements and expectations of your target profession. In ASU, my chosen major is Business Management through the William P. Carey School of Business. I chose this major because of my love for communication, leadership, and studies involving money. I really enjoy working with my dad who owns his own business and I take pleasure in understanding all the different processes within the business. Also, ever since I was a little girl, I have enjoyed learning about the economy and money in general. Another reason I chose business management was that it requires leadership, which has always been one of my strong points. I have experience leading and people have told me I am good at it though I know there is always plenty of room for improvement. I do know how to follow, but I am a leader at heart. I truly enjoy managing various projects and seeing them come together successfully. Because I think it is important as a student seeking a degree in Business Management to feel comfortable in leadership positions not only in the workplace, but also in other areas of life, one of the things I am most proud of is the fact that leadership is one of my strengths.
Completing my Bachelor’s degree will strengthen my skillset and help me become a more valuable employee. My organization is excited that I have decided to pursue my degree and is completely supportive.
I work part time at a nationally recognized health club where I have the opportunity to not only interact with members everyday but also participate in my own well being by working out on a regular basis. These activities have given me confidence that I am able to lead a workforce and complete a job efficiently and effectively. The passion that I have for marketing and management in the sports arena are enhanced by the program you offer. I fell in love with business while having the opportunity to take an honors finance class my junior year in high school. I received the Achievement Award in Honors Finance which influenced my decision to pursue an undergraduate degree in marketing. Because of my success in high school, I feel prepared for college level business classes. This combination of learning about the highs and lows of business and learning about the sports and fitness industry is what this major is all about; it is what I am all about and has me as a driven, passionate student so excited to be pursing my next journey in life at West Chester

Business has always interested me. I was always looking for a way to make an extra dollar. Whether it was buying items at low prices from the thrift shop and then selling them high or even creating a lemonade stand when I was younger with some of my friends. That is why I feel that the Stern School of business is the right area of study for me. In addition to the Stern school of business being a great fit for me, I also love the community that NYU has to offer. NYU has a rich history of great sports team and a tight knit community. I look forward to joining a community that thrives in the classroom and out on the sports fields, or in my personal favorite, hockey. I look forward to Friday night games with my friends cheering on my classmates.

I am interested in pursuing a degree in business because there are a variety of job opportunities within the field. My parents also owned their own business, which was the main reason I wanted to pursue a business degree. I was inspired by their work ethics, and how they overcame their struggles and obtained success within their business and recognition in society. Originally, my major was in management. However, I have recently become more interested in an ISOM major after attending an Ask the Professionals event. This is because ISOM combines both business skills and IT skills to give you a unique skill set that is highly sought after in the current job market. My ideal job upon graduation would be working in a company like Freddie Mac where I can utilize my knowledge and work within a team setting.
When I was young, I always wanted to pursue a career in business. Now I am finally getting the opportunity to make my dream a reality. I see more than numbers and human interaction in business; I see businesses as some of the most powerful organizations in the world. A business degree will enable me to become a part of this influential business community and make a positive impact on our society.
