Sometimes, politically powerful men do unexpected things. LBJ was a proud Texan. LBJ signed the Civil Rights Act of 1964 because of his strong principle beliefs. When he was a young adult he was a teacher for a segregated school and used part of his paycheck on them. I know LBJ's choice was principle because he was a teacher for a segregated school, he was willing to give up his chance at the next presidency, and he got the chance to give his own opinion.

Andrew Johnson was born December 29, 1808 in a North Carolina cabin. Andrew's father died when he was a young boy, and his mother quickly remarried. His mother and her new husband forced fourteen-year-old Andrew and his older brother William to a local tailoring job. After working a number of years in the tailoring business, the boys ran away for several years, dodging rewards for their capture placed by their mother and stepfather. Andrew returned to his mother, and the entire family moved to Greeneville, Tennessee. (Elizabeth R. Varon, 2013)
Looking back in this era of history, the United States had just emerged out of one of its darkest moments this country has seen to this day. Not only was Andrew Johnson thrust into the seat of the presidency almost immediately after the Civil War, but was also tasked with the more difficult decision of the Confederate Reconstruction. Furthermore, the expectations everyone held him to, were more or less shot down with his conflicting beliefs between the House and the Senate in regards to the Reconstruction debate.

There is a quote that I have embraced during my professional journey I like that state, “The influence of a good teacher can never be erased”. As a product of the Muscogee County School district, my life mirrors that statement. If it were not for my awesome teachers I would not be the person and teacher I am today. Growing up poor, I lived in Wilson Apartments and attended Fox Elementary School. It was my kindergarten teacher Mrs. Vignery that ignited my passion to become a teacher. She would always hold my hand and made me feel loved despite my many issues. As a result, I wanted to pass this love to my students. I cannot remember not one single thing that she taught me, but I will never forget how she made me feel. I find myself holding

Senior prom is an occasion that students begin to anticipate years in advance. For some it is seen as the best night of high school. You get to dress up with your friends, take pictures, dance like no one's watching, eat all the scrumptious food, and at the end of the night you get to slow dance with the date of your choice. Towards the end of the year as prom is nearing, everything turns into madness because people try to solidify the perfect prom date to truly make the night magical. However, Aquin High School actually tried this so no one feels ashamed or embarrassed for not having a prom date or believes that you
