Towards the end of my undergraduate career, I committed to pursuing a law degree. My training in history gives me a broad perspective on the dynamics which shape current events. Additionally, I was able to obtain a bachelors degree in biological sciences. It was an incredible learning experience to be able to understand the physics of radioactive decay and the biochemistry of DNA replication. The confidence I gained by having a deep understanding of the physical world really defines a large part of me. Since graduation I focused my interests on biotechnology and I have become attracted to a career in the area of intellectual property law. Recently I had the privilege of visiting the Dedman School of law. The welcoming atmosphere, experienced
Throughout every stage of our lives we naturally search for a sense of community. We seek it through athletics, book clubs, or even through volunteering. A sense of belonging is one we all hope for. A truly unrivaled community is that of The Pennsylvania State University. That community is something I dream of belonging to.
Judicial precedent refers to the sources of law where past decisions made by judges create law for future judges to follow. An example would be the Donoghue vs Stevenson case, where Stevenson had bought ginger beer, and Donoghue had drank it after their been a decomposed snail in it, however their was no charge because she was not in a contract with
An academic subject that inspires me is pre-law, understanding the factors of life and the choices you make based off self interest is inspiring to understand how people's minds work depending on real life situations. I've always had an interest in understanding how the government is run. It's important to learn as an American citizen your rights to your laws. I will further my interest in college by studying more to have pre-law as my Major. Other opportunities that will benefit me in being universal in the area of law would include philosophy, social science, and Business throughout taking college courses. These majors all connect in the aspect in bettering a community or individual through some type of financial assistance. I intend using Pre-law outside of the classroom after I graduate throughout college
I am especially interested in the Immigration Justice Clinic that is offered under the supervision of Professor Geoffrey Heeren. Providing direct legal representation for detained immigrants stands for everything that draws me to immigration law and I know the ability to study at the University of Wisconsin will be an exceptional opportunity to further both my academic and professional goals,
I write to express my interest in the tenure-track appointment in guitar at the assistant or associate professor level beginning fall 2018 at the Arizona State University School of Music. While I have taught at a number of institutions, my position at Georgia State University (GSU) has offered the greatest opportunities for professional growth. Consequently, my discussion of professional activities will focus primarily on the work I have done in connection with GSU starting in 2012. In this time I have revitalized a failing guitar program, reinstated its MM performance degree, and created a guitar chair position within the Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) while holding two to three part-time positions and maintaining an active
The philosophy that my parents have always held and passed onto me was to just fit in. Sit still, don’t let your opinions be known, just fit in. Their mindset was unstandable because they migrated from a place where challenging the status quo was dangerous. This always frustrated me because I love to talk, debate, protest, and advocate. My passion for this pushed me towards wanting to major in philosophy and go onto law school. I dream of being someone who fights for those who aren’t in a position to speak up, and to actually make a difference instead of just wishing that I could.
Since my second year of college, when I discovered that I wanted to become an ESL teacher, I have been thinking about going to graduate school. The idea was very exciting for me because I would be the first person in my family to go to graduate school. I will be pursuing a path in a field that I am passionate about. Recently, I have been looking for a great program in multiple schools for TESOL, which leads me to the University of Maryland. Upon researching for graduate schools in a program for teaching English language learners, I found University of Maryland’s Applied Linguistics and Language Education program to be of interest to me.
Although I have had my heart set on major surrounding health and sciences, I chose pre-law as one of my major in case I get to college and I’m unsure of medicine. As most people say, people that have a specific major in mind going into college ends up switching their majors a lot because they realize it’s not the major that makes them happy. I do not want to experience a state of confusion when I get to college and continuously waste my time changing my majors, neither do I want to stick to a major knowing it will not make me happy; so I chose pre-law as my backup major if I ever feel as if the medicine field isn’t what interests me. In addition, when I was younger before I had my heart set on medicine, studying law and becoming a lawyer was
I’ve spent the last thirteen years of my life enrolled in the Chelsea Public School System, with six years in elementary, three in middle, and 4 in high school. A different range of emotions hits me as I realise it has finally come to be the time in my life where I must think about how I’m going to spend the rest of my life. I have grown and learned very much from my experiences here at CHHS, but I really do think it’s time to move on. I now must learn how to be independent and live on my own, pay taxes and learn how to cook something other than microwave pizza(eventually). Despite everything tiny little voice screaming in my head about the unforeseeable future, I intend to make the best of my time here on Earth by pursuing a Masters Degree
The future is a series of unexpected chapters in our lives filled with new innovations and discoveries. As a student, it is absolutely breathtaking to grow up with newly advanced technology. Although growing up with these facilities are fascinating, there is more to value and understand in the vast field of technology. As a pupil in school, I am passionately interested in the world of IT and wish to gain more knowledge throughout my life in this field of success. To begin with, I had developed a deep interest in technology for my father had taught me fragments of his work over the past few years.
I would love for the Admissions Committee to reconsider their decision because I feel that if I get accepted to Purdue University, I will be able to give back to the community/campus. My biggest goals for that would be able to join a fraternity and have connections of people in Purdue and commit myself to the fraternity. I would also love to be able to join groups or a club on or about helping one another. I am a person who loves to donate their time for people who need it most. Throughout my high school an some of my college year(s), I have gone to food pantries, food donations, and community work to help the homeless and hungry in downtown Indianapolis.
After I graduate I am taking the summer off to have some quality time with my family before they help me haul myself up to upper peninsula Michigan. I am going to start college next spring at Lake Superior State University. The plan currently is to get a degree in computer engineering with an emphasis in robotics. While I do that I want to participate in local choirs and dance groups. Once graduated I want to embark on a career that will utilize all of my passions.
I currently hope to and am on track to graduate with a bachelor of science’s degree in biology by May 2019. I aspire to be get accepted into University of Kentucky’s medical school and to graduate from med school by 2023. Once, I have graduated from med school I plan on going into the field by working at a hospital to complete my 2-3 years residency. Once I am board certified I plan on opening my own health clinic. I am first generation college student.
As a student in today's rough economic times, I believe I’m an excellent candidate for the out of state tuition waiver. I’ve had academic honors since starting my high school career, maintaining the honor roll almost every quarter. I’ve had honors science classes since I could take them, and have passed them all with flying colors. I’m currently enrolled in Rowan College at Gloucester County, a local community college. I received an A in Intro to Programming for fall of 2015, and am currently registered to take Pre-Calculus this spring.
The main reason why I wanted to study Law was the importance it takes in the world. Law builds civilization, protect fundamental rights and protect ideas and inventions through patenting. Anyone can defend his or her right through the legal system. Law can bind an agreement to allow an aircraft to fly from country A to country B. Law is continuously relevant in many context including banking, construction, sports, land, media, commerical, human rights etc. And this excites me more, as it is very broad and in my perspective not going to be repetitive or dull.
