Mrs. Scarlet my 6th grade level and I would like to go on a field trip to Lava Beds National Monument. The Lava Beds National Monument is full of history and geological wonders. Also, it is California’s “best kept secret”. Three reasons why we should go to Lava Beds National Monument is because we could learn more science, the landscape and attractions, and because it does not have too many visitors
My first reason why we should go on this field trip is because it will be educational. In the field trip we would mostly learn about science. According to Lava Beds National Monument, it states, “Over 700 caves have now been discovered hidden in the natural wilderness of the area.” When we go to the field trip we would learn about the caves and volcanoes formations. Even though some caves are very old, we would have to bend and crawl through tubes of ragged rocks, and we would have to be cautious, we would use sturdy shoes, helmets, knee pads, and flashlights. Also not all the caves are old and have jagged rocks, based on Lava Beds National Monument, some caves have high ceilings and smooth floors, which would make exploration more easy. When we are on the trip we would learn

The Lava Beds National Monument is in the border of California and Oregon, which is that too far from here. One of the attractions we will see is a two-mile loop that provides about 20 caves to explore, according to their article. Based on the article is states, “Tourists can explore underground lava tubes that look almost like rocky waterslides. They can also take guided tours of the park, hike along scenic trails, climb cinder cones, and learn about the natural volcanoes and high desert in northern California.” This would be a great experience for many
I chose Carlsbad Caverns as my choice for a U.S. National Park. It is a location I myself have personally been to and absolutely loved the visit. Carlsbad Caverns is located in the southeastern part of New Mexico in the Guadalupe Mountains. The process that made Carlsbad Caverns is not exactly covered in our book. The only thing I could find that is even close to or has any similarities is speleothems and those are formations that can be found throughout the cavern. The process that created Carlsbad Caverns is called sulfuric acid speleogenesis. This process happens when a mixture of rainwater and hydrogen sulfide(found in the soil) creates sulfuric acid. It begins to eats away at the limestone in the mountain internally creating underground
the volcano and the areas ecology - learning about things science has not had the chance to
Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks are located in the southern Sierra Nevada range. These parks are one of the few America's longest mountain range. Kings Canyon has many features to offer such as tall cliffs, green meadows, and waterfalls. These parks contain over two hundred marble caves, with the two parks combined they create the longest cave in California, it's called Liburn Cave. They're small and can be found in isolated sections of the park. These parks are managed by categories such as: rare or sensitive animals that can close entry, research and study, and some are delicate and dangerous. They first opened a cave in 1941 where visitors can walk the trail. They created systems to help the parks from any damage to the cave because
We went to southwestern Colorado to learn more about the history of the Anasazi Indians. The amalgamation of tribes which lived thousands of years ago in the American Southwest. We had brought along a minimum amount of cash (approximately $150.00 each). Because we were going to spend only one night in a motel and camp during the rest of the trip. We hiked many miles. Covering closes to twenty miles a day. Our entire club began to get tired and irritated on the third day. But the rewards were worth the effort. Although our trek was long and arduous. I will never forget the sight of the Mesa Verde cliff dwellings in the early morning sunlight on June
The field trip was educational and informational. I would like to thank the BGMS staff and nature experts for making this trip possible. Outdoor education is important because we need to know how to help, protect, and restore our rivers. Field trips are important because they give you information and education with a hands on
To begin with, everyone of all ages can experience this historical sight and not be bored. The trails that people can walk on are only a small part of what you can do at the state park. There is a 18 hole golf course, wild cave tours, fishing ponds, horseback riding, and several picnicking spots. There are also several interpretive programs. Many activities that all sorts of people would like to experience. The one thing I think the park should have is a swimming pool close to the waterfalls
Have you ever heard of the Lava Beds National Monument? It is a national monument located in California. It is considered to be California's "best kept secrete" because not a lot of people know about it. I feel like our principal should approve on going to a field trip in this area because there are many adventurous sites and fun activities there.
The Wyandotte caves are made out of limestone like any other cave in Indiana but the Wyandotte cave has a “cliff ”so when people go they have to be careful. There is a Mount Baldy in California but the one in indiana is special. Mount Baldy isn't a mountain, it’s a sand dune. Sand dunes are mountains hills and ridges with sand on them and they “Hide” behind beaches and are affected by tides. In other words Mount Baldy is a mountain with sand on it. Mount Baldy is also known as the “living” sand dune, because every year it is someplace new, South of the shore of Lake
For anyone wondering, there is plenty of park to be explored. It’s not as crowded as it sounds or as crowded as you think it would be. For there is over 384 miles of thinly laced mountain roads that you can drive on. You can pull to the side of the road any time that you want and start walking and exploring the way you want. You’ll never explore the whole park in one day or even one week for there is eight hundred miles of hiking trails, from a half-mile to 70 miles long.
We always get in a battle about which spot to set up at, we all have our favorite. These sites act as a nostalgic memory bank whenever I see them. I can remember all of the great times we've had at almost all the sites. This time my family let me pick, I already knew what spot i wanted. The spot I loved was the one right by the crystal clear Huzzah River. This spot had its own rocky beach and view of the iron-stained, rocky red bluff. My favorite spot is tucked away in the back of the state park, nestled in a nook of trees and grass. A concrete fire block with a smoky cast-iron grill sat at the center of the site along with a picnic table
The Natural History Museum of Utah opened the doors of it’s new, highly acclaimed collections in 2011. It is roundly considered to be one of the best museums of its kind in the whole country. Just outside its doors you will find the more than one hundred acres of gardens and trails that make up the Red Butte Garden and Arboretum natural area. This unspoiled stretch of Wasatch foothills is an excellent place to quietly commune with nature, unless you happen to visit during the outdoor concert series, which attracts top national and
The Central Valley is occupied by many beautiful places and sceneries that many people do not realize how this came to be. One of the most astonishing places in the Central Valley is Yosemite Valley where the rise of the Sierra Nevada occurred. The preservation of Yosemite Valley is one of the reasons why this astounding scenic view still exists today. The formation of Yosemite Valley took place many years ago and not a lot has changed since this formation in recent years. Many people saw how beautiful Yosemite Valley was and its amazing view is what encouraged people to protect this picturesque place. If people had not preserved and protected Yosemite Valley maybe it would not be how it is today and many people would not have access to see how truly scenic it is. They have given us the opportunity to be able to go and visit Yosemite Valley and learn about the history that is has. Yosemite Valleys’ geological history is truly mind blowing in connection with the people that made it possible for this place to exist.
Third, Cancun has mystifying sites and tours that are simply amazing. There are, for instance, excursions through the vast caves and the seemingly never-ending tunnels. Colorful stalactite formations resemble icicles hanging from the cave’s ceiling
What makes politics so important to the United States? When hearing the word “politics”, the president and first family are generally what comes to mind. Of course the president plays an important role but there are lots of other key factors that contribute to politics. There are three branches of government, each with its own special and specific role. The legislative branch writes and creates laws, the judicial branch judge’s laws and the executive branch enforces these laws. The president belongs to the executive branch and plays several different roles in office.
Fortunately for ogling tourists, reporters and scientists their sudden cathexis will not be threatened with death anytime soon, since the lava is escaping the caldera by way of the east side of the mountain, via an uninhabited area called the Grand Brule, or the Big Burned, towards the sea. Although some reporters may be nursing repressed memories of volcanoes that did threaten the curious--namely those of the years 1977 and
