Anasazi Tribe History

Hiking through Rocky Mountain National Park the beauty was overwhelming, the next day our team was serving in downtown Denver in a Street reach meal service to people suffering from homelessness. The beauty of the mountains was overwhelming but then we surrounded by this vast issue of homelessness. Both of these moving experiences, along with many other moments during the week, that made this trip personally impactful and helped me to see the world in a more vivid light.

Many people tend to think of the Seminole tribe as being native to Florida. The Seminoles were still part of the Lower Creek tribe until the mid 1750's and after breaking away, moved into Florida and assisted in the killing, absorbing or enslaving of the native tribes that were already here on the peninsula. Although the Nacirema tribe has very unique methods and focus on the human body and appearence, they are similar to our society. I feel like this tribe's beliefs are particularly similar to ours because they try to achieve "beauty" just like we try to be "prettier" or "perfect". The Nacirema can be described as a weird/unique tribe because they use torture to achieve their beliefs. One thing that striked me as particularly odd was the "mouth-rite" and "latispo" rituals because the people knew that they might die if they went through them and they still do it. Which of the two (Anasazi or Incan) people had a better settlement? The Puebloan people used what was available in their environment to meet their needs as a society. The Inca people were skilled stonemasons and master builders. The Anasazi people were able to create many things and use them for other needs but, the Inca people were very successful.

I fell in love with Ruidoso, New Mexico, the first time I saw it and kept going back for different reasons. Either for shows, shopping, or to go visit newly made friends. Ruidoso is a quiet mountain/tourism community that has attracted many people from all walks of life and of course boast of some famous people such as Geronimo and of course Billy the Kid. Paul Dowlin and his brother Will had started this little community and one of their buildings still stands today. Others followed their path to make a life for themselves and with automobiles being built a road was constructed for the people to get to Ruidoso other than horse and cart.

On Friday I had the honor to visit the historical Rancho Los Cerritos House; also known as Rancho Los Cerritos or Casa de los Cerritos, in Long Beach, California, it was the largest and most impressive adobe residence raised in southern California during the Mexican period. The structure of the house was built in 1844 by merchant Jonathan Temple, a Yankee pioneer who became a Mexican citizen. Los Cerritos means "the little hills" in English. The onondaga tribe is one of the most interesting tribes in the world. They do all sorts of interesting things. They have a lot of location. They have some traditions. Last they have a lot of present-day facts.

It was during the time period that Christ was born that the Anasazi Indians appeared in the Four Corners area which is the area where the boundaries of Arizona, Utah, New Mexico and Colorado meet. For the over a thousand years the Anasazi thrived and built their homes into the side of cliffs. These cliff dwellings could only be reached by climbing and made for a great defense system against enemies; some dwellings reached five stories in height and contained hundreds of rooms. Many of the elaborate cliff dwellings and terraced apartment houses built of stone, mud, and wood that dot the Four Corners region still stand today and date back to about 9,000 CE., but the people who comprised this desert culture did not begin to settle into an agricultural lifestyle until around A.D. 400. The Anasazi, which is a Navajo word meaning “the ancient ones”, likely received corn, squash and beans, which are a prime source of protein, added to their diet and the knowledge to raise them from their southern neighbors in Mexico. Vegetable crops provided a reliable food source that made an increase in population possible and also allowed time for other interests such as religion, art, ritual, public works and handicrafts. This allowed the Anasazi society continued to evolve and progress. The ancient ones also possessed beans, a prime source of protein and new varieties of corn. The Makah tribe is a native American tribe who lived in Olympic Peninsula in Washington State for centuries. Makah people tended to descend their culture to one another and ran on their traditions through generations. Makah tribe practiced whale hunting in the past as one of their historical traditions when they were given permission after Treaty of Neah. The Makah harvested whale for provisions and countries-exporting values. But most people think it 's demoralizing to kill a pure, innocent mammal like whale. As an outsider, we can’t go to conclusion and say their tradition is inhumane and needs to be stopped. Day 1: It's day one of my expedition, exciting, we are documenting on a thought to be extinct tribe.

My trip started off tumultuously, as did my relationship with my host, consequentially who lacked hospitality among other qualities, leaving me to discover the copious cultural dichotomies and challenges around every corner, alone, daunted by the lack of local support. Thankfully my Seminar Instructor, Wanda Anderson, LICSW and my classmates supported me through the pit falls every step of the way!!!

Last that I wrote about the topic of abortion, I talked about Donald Trump being elected as president and how he must be held accountable for the promises he made and the actions he will take. Since his election laws are being put in place everywhere, because of the election these laws are much easier to set.

Ernest Miller Hemingway was an American author, short story writer, and journalist. He was an influential author in the 20th-century. He was unlike many other novelists who wrote out very long intricate sentences. Hemingway revolutionizes what an author should be like. Which is why many people fell in love with his economical and modesty style of writing. His life of adventure and the view of the public influenced later generations. However, at the highest point of his literary career, Hemingway's body and mind were beginning to betray him. He suffered from depression and was treated for many severe conditions such as high blood pressure and liver disease. Late 1900s, Hemingway committed suicide in his Ketchum home.
