Would you run away from camp and roam the world freely having no idea what you’re doing if you were stranded on an island with a naked person of the opposite gender? Well, that’s what happened to two teens named Howie and Laura. Howie and Laura went to the same camp and were stranded on an island by the other kids there. On the island they were cold, naked, humiliated, and angry. They had been lied to and they wanted revenge, so they left camp and disappeared to make everyone worry and feel guilty about letting this happen to them. While they were away, they stole from and they lied to people they didn’t even know existed. Howie and Laura were immature and foolish, they stole clothes, food, and money. They lied about who they were and caused other …show more content…
After swimming away from the island, Howie and Lara ended up near summer houses and broke into one for shelter. While they were inside Howie found clothes for them and they left with them on. The point is When they had reached the shore, Howie broke the window of a cabin allowing him to open the door from the inside, permitting them to enter the cabin without damaging the lock on the door. After this, Howie and Laura stay on the bed for a little while getting their energy back, when Howie gets back up he looks for clothes for them to wear. He finds large shirts and pants that don’t fit them, but it’s all they’ve got. Of course, it is possible to disagree with the view with Howie and Laura broke into a cabin and stole the clothes of the owners and instead argue that Howie and Laura stole the clothes because they had to ,however stronger evidence is on the other side. What must be remembered is that Howie and Laura still stole the clothes and just because they had to doesn’t mean that they didn’t steal. This is essentially why my 2nd claim supports my overall

During their time on the municipal beach, Howie and Laura end up stealing clothing, baskets."If you kept him busy I could grab a couple of baskets.”(Page 42). The point is Howie and Laura faced a situation where they had many choices but chose to steal. Although they had needed new clothing, it is still not justifiable for stealing other’s clothing, which explains how the evidence proves the claim. Of course, it is possible to disagree with the view that Howie and Laura could have been arrested for stealing and instead argue that Howie and Laura needed to steal to survive. However, stronger evidence is on the other side. What must be remembered is that Howie and Laura would not need to steal if they had gone back to the camp. This is essentially why Howie and Laura could have been arrested for stealing. Howie and Laura had many options when it came to leaving the cabin, they could have waited to be brought back to the camp but they chose to run away. Howie and Laura’s actions are not justifiable just because they are
According to page 20, when Laura and Howie reached shore after swimming, Howie stated,”I'm going to break in.” The point is that Howie decided to break into a cottage after they come up on shore from swimming. Laura couldn’t move and felt very sick, and could of fainted and suffered great pain. Howie even heard a road with cars nearby and should of used that as a way to get help. Of course, it is possible to disagree with the view that Howie and Laura should be punished for breaking into a cottage instead of looking for help and instead argue that Laura and Howie were naked and instead needed to find clothes quickly. However, stronger evidence is on the other side. What must be remembered is that Howie wasn’t sick and it stated there was a nearby road. If there was a car moving, Howie could’ve went on the road and got people's attention were he could then bring Laura to a hospital or home. Breaking into a house out of any other choice was a bad idea and was something irresponsible to do. This is essentially why the claim that Howie and Laura deciding to break into a cottage instead of looking for help was an immature and foolish action for which they should both be
Susan Gregg was born on June 6th, 1970, in Stockton on Tees, England. When he was 12 years old he immigrated to Australia, with his Mum, his Dad and his younger brother, Phil. He has very few remaining memories of England. Some of the only things he remembers about his time there are when he used to play with the kids on his street, the fact that his family didn’t have a car, so he would have to walk to school, and that it was always cold. He can also remember travelling to Tunisia, Africa and camel riding in the Sahara Desert for 2 days, around a year before he moved to Australia. While they were in Tunisia Susan recalls locals offering to buy his brother due to his red hair, but their parents declined their offers. During their trip, he and
When Laura, mom was looking for Howie and Laura she was talking to a police officer”See that? Said the man. That means I’m a Deputy Sheriff”.The point is that every police officer and station was looking to find Howie and Laura.Of course,it is possible to disagree with the view that the police was looking for Howie and Laura and instead argue that the police was not looking for Howie and Laura However,Stronger evidence is on the other side. What must be remembered is that Many police stations and Police officer looking for Howie and Laura after they left camp. This is essentially why the police was looking for a house and Laura and this connects to my overall position because it includes that they did not just encountered dangerous places people were trying to locate
Never know how much someone needs something until it's gone. This was surfing to Bethany Hamilton. This is her story of fighting to get back in the water and all of the troubles that came with it.
One important reason that the world that Laura and Howie encounter is dangerous and malevolent is that the camp left nothing for them when they abandoned them on the island. According to Cole, Brock. The Goats. Macmillan, 2010, Laura and Howie have to steal money and clothes. What Brock Cole is saying here is that Laura and Howie are left with nothing so they need to steal in order to get supplies. Now, some might argue that the counselors came back to give them clothes and food. But the argument that the world that Laura and Howie encounter is dangerous and malevolent is still true. The key point is the kids were not aware that they were the counselors and they scared the two kids. This forced the kids to run away from the island and going
